  1. Well we are offloading players, those who've been here for years and not really made the grade. It's better for them to get some contacts with other clubs now (especially if they're in the Championship) and not just be part of the mass of players scrubbing around for contracts in the summer. Every club does it, we're just doing it in the right way, giving these lads a chance to show what they can do in what I call "real football" because they'll not get a chance in the first team at SFC.
  2. Indeed because it is used as the primary reason to disprove the theory where the flight crew could have been overcome by smoke (or something) and attempted a desperate turn back towards somewhere they knew. I've given up following this drama closely but this always comes back to me whenever I think on it. How can anyone possibly know that, if they knew by some electronic transmission that it had been done they might have known the plotted course.
  3. It was in the press and no doubt on this very forum a couple of days earlier 8th/9th November perhaps.
  4. Whilst I am reflecting on this mystery. I keep reading that it is a known fact that the turn to the west was programmed into the flight computer of the aircraft at least 12 minutes before the last contact between the pilots and ground radar. How would anyone exactly know that ?
  5. Flat tops are floating cities, I really doubt that anyone has one to consecrate to the search for 239 dead people. Time it got there it would be useless anyway, sonar research vessels would probably be far more efficient.
  6. Basically the same as you find on most forums: I know I'm right because I have proof that I can't of course divulge so everyone who doesn't agree with me is necessarily wrong and thus probably just making thing up. Disclaimer: I might add that I mean this to have no incidence on the current discussion, just explaining what the statement probably means.
  7. Spurs midfield will eat Reed up for an early tea or a late lunch, it's no place for rookies and approximation.
  8. Hip flexor injury, that's not an easy or rapid thing to cure. Depends if it's just a blow on it or a strain. Don't expect to see him on Sunday myself.
  9. he might well do that but as he's not very good at it it will be pointless anyway. We'd probably change the whole system if we had to start without any of our regular DMs. I'd hope that Mauricio would have the sense to play José and Maya at the back and move Dejan forward, he's not bad at it, or at least he wasn't at Lyon.
  10. Certainly not on Saturday anyway, as for Sunday who knows what our side will look like. However if we started with an unusual midfield and it looked reasonably correct then that would be a total endorsement of Mauricio's systems wouldn't it ?
  11. Chuck a gilet, that's a strange expression Bruce!
  12. Although I can't see him actually starting a new season without a better contract, he is very poorly paid (compared to other PL managers) by all accounts. Finishing 8th might well correct that though.

    Cortese?

We don't even really know if their respective roles are the same. I'm just going to wait and see. Then again I have absolutely no idea what Krueger's capacities actually are, he can motivate, he knows about Ice Hockey but other than that what he can actually do is a mystery to me. He obviously talks a good game but his experience at the Oilers was less than conclusive when it actually came to doing something I think.
  14. They'll all be fit for Sunday...just wait and see.
  15. How can a club with a playing staff as small as Saints not be sustainable on football income exceeding 100 million £ a year ?
  16. Strange you see maya arriving but then he doesn't seem to appear at all, certainly not on the group photo.
  17. Nowhere near enough for moving up a notch, we have too many weak areas with insufficient cover. 4 players minimum, otherwise we'll be running faster to stand still. I'm sure those that deal with such things know that though. If we want to progress we can never, ever have Gazzaniga or Davis in goal again.

    Cortese?

Did we ever find out why Rogers had resigned and was due to leave within weeks of the " Big Bang" ?? Job not big enough for him? Didn't like the way things were run ? NC had caught him toadying to the Swiss? What ?
  19. Anyway Wenger's principal target to eventually replace Sagna is Aurier from Toulouse, a player we should have looked at a long time ago as I might have mentioned on more than 1 occasion. 21 years old, can play either side and scores some decent goals, mind you in Ligue 1 anyone could score goals, even Berbatov has scored a few already. 6 million £ for a far better player right now than Chambers.
  20. Because your average football fan or footix as the French call them thinks that the best players should be playing in the best clubs, if you're not at a top 4 somewhere or other club then it's because you're not good enough and certainly not because you like where you are and don't particularly want to go anywhere else. Our good season is starting to draw attention to our players as are the England call ups thus people are willing to believe that they should be elsewhere playing a yet higher standard of football and there's not an agent on the planet who'd not want to cash in on that.
  21. Although it's strange that he feels the need to get involved. When MP was being linked with Marseille last week (or was it the week before) the reporters seemed fairly certain that MP was an easy target because his salary was ridiculously low compared to any decent manager (half of what they were paying Baup before they sacked him, thus MP is probably only on 20K£ a week). Perhaps he really does get a significant rise in his emoluments and contract terms if we finish 8th and thus we're just waiting for that to happen.
  22. Well according to the meejah the plane only had a cargo of mangos, 4 tonnes of them apparently. If it's gone down in the jungle and the survivors are living off the cargo they'll all have the trots, won't get scurvy though, nothing like a bit of mango to boost your vitamin C levels. 4000/200=20 so that's 20 kgs of mangos each, 2 a day for a month or so.
  23. But that transfer is always taken out of context. Liverpool sold Torres to Chelsea for the ridiculous sum of 50 million and Carroll was scoring plenty of goals at the time. If they hadn't sold Torres they wouldn't have signed Carroll. I've even read that they really wanted to sell Torres anyway because tests had shown his muscular system to be in decline already and that he would never be the same player again anyway. Chelsea obviously didn't do their homework.
  24. the quotes come from a telephone interview in Bixenté Lizarazu's monday night programme, Club Liza, I've listened to it and the quotes are roughly as reported although perhaps a little embroidered. In fact Morgan is somewhat evasive on the Arsenal question, says it wouldn't be easy because he has 3 years left on his contract but he hope to play for a top side soon. He was replying to questions about a recent report in the Sun though, how recent I couldn't say. We must have missed it then: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/5447416/Arsene-Wenger-wants-Morgan-Schneiderlin-to-replace-Mikel-Arteta.html
