  1. Football's Rip Van Winkle then.
  2. I don't know any more. I'd think that if we can beat Swansea (I don't see us getting anything at Goodison) and just need a point at home on the last day, we'll get it, even against Citeh. There the World Cup effect might even do us a favour.
  3. I'd think that any side with the same number or more points than Huddersfield but with a better GD is a poor bet for relegation. Just can't see Huddersfield getting any more points and at -29 GD already, 35 points and better than say -32 might be enough.
  4. And create a platform to get 4 batting points. Although that took some serious hitting from Abbott in the end.
  5. Don't really see that myself. In fact I see us with a better chance of getting a point against Citeh than I do of us beating Everton. They have become a pretty solid side, boring to their fans perhaps but solid. Unless he knows before the game that he'll be getting the boot BfS will as likely as not set them out as he did against Huddersfield and Newcastle...ie hard to beat..
  6. Might depend how Arsenal get on against Burnley.
  7. Game under way, dicey start for Hants, lost 2 wickets and scored at snail's pace. Then Abbott has come in and seems to be showing that you can show far too much respect to average bowlers. Anyway I'd guess we'll bat until the 110 overs are up and then let them have a stab, see if we can get a couple of bowling points.
  8. I think Vlasic started against Huddersfield though. Different sort of player than Bolasie.
  9. Any chance of play today ?
  10. Indeed. They've got over their injury and managerial problems and now play basically the same side in each game. Hard to score against them of late.
  11. Well, that's a bit silly. These blokes complain that they can't get women but if the go round crushing them with rental vans there'll be even less to go round right ?
  12. Ferguson upset their senior players with his coaching methods, Unsworth let him do it.
  13. Krueger....how the fark would he know what a good or bad football coach looks like. Probably learns from You Tube videos.
  14. I can see us winning actually. At least that would give us a base of hoping to avoid relegation at Swansea.
  15. Sholing Sports could have beaten Everton on that day. They were a right shambles because they'd sacked Koeman and let an utter, utter idiot try his hand at management. Their players (apart from the very young and very hopeless) wanted nothing to do with Ferguson and his pub side methods.
  16. Obviously because we'd already sacked a far better manager than Pellegrino will ever be last summer and whoever did that for whatever reason didn't want to look silly. It was bandied about that Reed sacked Puel because he refused to change his style of football. So if Reed wanted to dictate how we play then whoever was manager is just puppet with no real control over style or results. If Southampton want to improve there is one solution....sack Reed. That has been obvious for years now.
  17. So results wise appointing Hughes has made no difference whatsoever?
  18. Probably because the Top 6 are totally dominating and there are more really bad teams than ever in the PL. Top 6 get their pick of the world's better players with no sort of control whatsoever over spending and the rest just have the priviledge of paying over the odds to dip into the lucky dip of the rest of the dross available. Same with managers.
  19. Well no, he probably wants to be playing football just now to prepare for the World Cup. It must be really, really annoying for players in his situation when your manager won't give you any of the game time that you need.
  20. Perhaps they've just become accustomed to not playing under dinosaurs like Hughes. It's not only at Saints.
  21. Still, you've had a fair amount of time to get used to no Mitchell, he's been gone these last 3 years I believe.
  22. But there is probably far more to the Carrillo transfer than meets the eye. He was never worth the sum paid, anyone could see that so there must be something else. Unless of course we didn't pay the stated amount.
  23. The required defensive contribution is just too much for the likes of Boufal. He's a flair player not a work horse. Can't help thinking that if our defence was better we'd get more out of the likes of Boufal and Redmond. As it is we're having to play at least 2 hard man DM/CMs and 3 at times.
  24. So why did he sign for us then. Just for the money or got a boot up the backside from Juventus who didn't care to whom they sold him as long as they got their money. Mind you didn't we have an owner like that?
  25. Have a look at Lemina's game history over the years. The first thing that will smack you in the face is how few games he's managed in any one season. I think his record is about 25 or 26. Compare that to your John Terry type, 45-50 games every season over 10 or 15 years and you'll see that Lemina is either made of glass or just an utter lightweight. Juventus sold him to us for a reason, they do not sell players they want to keep, except for stupid amounts of money like Pogba.
