  1. trouble is I'm not really convinced that we can beat a full Brighton side with the players we're likely to have available tomorrow.Greer is still suspended, that's a bonus because they're less solid without him. It depends whether Lallana is available or not and NA was a bit cagey about that in his pre-match piece.
  2. What we don't want (as Dave would say) is Plymouth getting some vague notion that they can still escape relegation.I just wouldn't want to go there with them having that idea. Trouble is after today's result that they might just fancy it.
  3. Poyet is right, he's obtained more with less.Next season will tell a different story I expect.League 1 is about effort and bludgeoning the opposition, individual class will show up more in the NPC.Brighton will have to watch their disciplinary record next time round, far too many red cards to be consistent at a higher level. Must be amongst the front runners in our division with 6 reds in a season.
  4. It's a standard practice in football. I remember when my local team was playing Monaco in the Cup. We told the U13s to speed up the ball return if we were losing and to slow it down if we were winning. We put the fattest slowest kid (reserve team goalie for the U13s) in the area behind their goal where there was a big space before the fence. When we were 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go the lads just kept punting the ball into that area and we must have gained 2 or 3 minutes like that.
  5. Personally I don't see Huddersfield winning away at MK Dons nor Peterborough at Rochdale, provided of course that those 2 sides still have play-off ambitions when the matches take place.
  6. Looks like something out of Home Alone, a few tattoos should make him look a bit hard.
  7. I never take out any travel insurance, paying with a Visa Gold card usually covers about all you need. Normal French Mutuelle assistance covers everything else.
  8. It seems to me that the nearer we get to promotion the more hysterical you get about not achieving it. We will be second.....count on it. We did deliver in an away game when it really mattered...at Bournemouth...winning there was the key to promotion.
  9. A second straight red in a season brings a 4 match ban, if they got another straight red on Saturday their suspension would include the first official match of next season as well. I really think you are over estimating their aptitude to be petty and under estimating their professionalism. It's not Portsmouth after all. I guess you'll be suggesting that they'll deliberately lose against Huddersfield next.
  10. Of course they'll care about being sent off, it costs them money and if they already have a red card this season the ban will extend into the start of next season as well. Greer is already suspended, 4 others of their players would carry a suspension into next season if they got a red card on Saturday.
  11. Unfazed myself. I'd rather have the 10 million to spend on the 2 players that we'll really need next season than a boy wonder myself. Now if we were in line for promotion to the PL it would be different. I think AOC might well struggle against players with a bit more savvy so £10 million...this way please
  12. Guly will come into to his own next season in the NPC,it may well be that Lambert and Barnard come up short at the next level.
  13. I suspect his injury is nowhere near as banal as being made out. We'll just have to trust the manager and medical staff.
  14. Hants 2011?? Colour me dubious. Bowling too weak, batting too erratic. We'll be lucky to avoid relegation again.
  15. I think we've won a fair few games without Barney this season already. True we've been more consistent since he's been fully fit though. However a couple of benchmark wins were achieved without him.It depends if Lallana is going to be fully fit or not at any time soon.
  16. I don't really think it is all that of a massive blow if Connolly holds up for the 5 matches left to us. In a "paper contest" Connolly is 5 times the striker Barney will ever be, it's just that he's at the end of his career and has quasi permanent fitness problems.
  17. Yep, looks totally unbalanced,as it's a hypothetical thing though I guess it doesn't make any difference, this team isn't actually going to play anyway.
  18. Probably, won't stop them whingeing though.
  19. Trouble is that if he field a weakened side against us Huddersfield and Peterborough will probably kick up a fuss.
  20. Guly will come into his own next season in the NPC when an action that takes place in a nanosecond counterbalances 90 minutes of crap. Berbatov ain't all that good 99.99 % of the time you know, neither is Torres, it's what they do in the 0.01% that pays for all. Remember Gerd Muller
  21. Rochdale lost, depends on whether you count the top 6 yesterday or after the Bournemouth game 1 guess. Good win for Bournemouth today, wouldn't mind seeing them have a stab at the play-offs after all.
  22. Thing is if Barney hadn't got injured we may have subbed Guly, good job Nigel had read the script. Sounds like the sort of game only a piece of individual flair will win for you.
  23. Spot on,winning ugly is the sign of a side who will win things. Anyone old enough to remember the Arsenal double side from 70/71 will tell you it sometimes wasn't very pretty to watch. The song "you only win 1-0" came from that campaign
  24. Sniff the glue a bit...should help
  25. N'Guessan on. Reckon he and Connolly will save the day for us.
