  1. 13,984 I can't go tonight due to work, but have given my ST to a friend. However I think we will actually play well tonight and get a decent result, I'm predicting 2-1 win
  2. yeah i missed both those kick offs too. music was far too loud anyway and meant no atmosphere could be built up before the game. It would be nice if music stopped 5mins before and let the croud get vocal for a bit
  3. I agree about James, he is made to look bad as he is all on his own on the right. We have yet to play a proper right winger in front of him, it's usually McGoldrick, leaving him exposed every time.
  4. I dont understand why so many people think this. Last season was a disaster and we narrowly avoided relegation. After selling players and cutting the wage bill people set their pre-season expectations as fighting relegation again. Now that the season has started, why are people unhappy/ surprised that we are struggling? What did people expect from this season?
  5. how many saints fans?
  6. I'm going +4 others. I'm hoping for a decent atmosphere and a good result too. I think we'll get about 800-900
  7. 3-3, saints to get a last minute equaliser
  8. Just showed JP being interviewed on SSN. Apparently if we get a penalty Stern John will take it, so I guess he will be starting up front.
  9. I think you're right that we had to go with three up front, regardless of whether we thought we could get back into the game. The tripple sub against Cov was a good decision by Jan and it nearly got us back into the game, perhaps he needed to be a bit braver and more positive today.
  10. McGoldrick won the penalty and as our top goalscorer, I would have expected him to take it. Wotton was penalty taker at Plymouth and the most experienced player in our team, I would have let him take it. ...Hindsight is a wonderful thing I agree with what you say about the subs. Ryan Smith was doing brilliant down the left and shouldnt have been moved to the right, and Pekhart should have come on at 1/2 time - 60 mins, not with 7mins left. However, the game was lost in the first half and we were never going to get a result after that. I don't blame Jan. We missed 2 penalties which we really should have burried and had chances to score others. That was not Jans fault. However he does need to work on defending set pieces because we are clearly unable to man mark or challenge in the air.
  11. you'd think they'd sing something other than play up pompey if they were really enjoying it
  12. We'll be back with a bang after the international break. Killer will be fit and back in the team (hopefully). The team will be fresh again, including Lallana who will want to show what he can do after being left on the bench for the U21s. I'm going for (a very optimistic) SAINTS 4-1
  13. I think we will be inconsistent, but won't go down. IMO we will suffer a fair few heavy defeats, but i think we'll be on the other end of this type of scoreline a few times too.
  14. Would be a good idea if started at the beginning of the season, so that U16 ST prices could be set. If they start doing that now, they will have to refund every U16 ST holder as they have paid at least £140 whereas non ST holders could see the same amount of games for £23.
  15. I'm quite happy about it being moved, I'll be able to go to it now.
  16. OK so its not possible to want Lowe out of the club and still want the team to do well...
  17. Who do you think will buy the club?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????     ?????????????????
  18. no, i am
  19. Come from behind to win 2-1
  20. So I assume you think Birmingham and Wolves will finish with record points totals of 120, and Wolves will have a goal difference of +100? And Plymouth will only get 18 points? You can not predict where teams will finish after just 5 league games... 6 games into last season Crystal Palace, Ipswich and QPR were all below 18th in the table, also Coventry and S****horpe were in play off positions. 9 games into the 06/07 season Stoke and Sheff Wed were both in the relegation zone, Sheff Wed finished 4 points outside the playoffs and Stoke finish 2 points from the play offs.
  21. Yeah I'll be there, and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully the team can prove most people wrong.
  22. Other attendances from the weekend: Sheff Wed: 17,066 Coventry: 16,544 Two clubs who I think are similar size as us. It puts into perspective our attendace against Blackpool, which was on sky... Crowds are getting smaller everywhere, its not just at SMS.
  23. nice idea, although I'd put james at RWB and have perry sweeping instead of Cork. Also I'm not sure Holmes would be able to play wing back. Rudi would fit in there, but from what I've heard, he isn't up to it at the moment. Surman may be a better choice there, IMO
  24. Perry and Svensson had been brilliant in the other 3 league games. The Blackpool game was definately a blip IMO. It looked to me like they were playing to high up the pitch, and when you've got CBs that slow, they will be left exposed. Also I thought Svensson looked very tired, he didn't seem to have the energy to even jump for a header. Hopefully the two week break will give him time to recover, after all he has had a tough pre-season and hadn't really played football for a few years before that.
  25. Does anyone know what his 'injury' was, it looked to me like he had a bit of cramp.
