  1. As a cynic and anti Lowe poster I have to admit I was very impressed tonight. The football was excellent and full of composure. The best football I have seen at SMS for a very long time. Gillet was superb and Holmes never stopped running. I would urge all sceptics to go on Saturday because I was blown away by what I saw tonight and those kids should be rewarded with more support. I can hardly believe what i saw.
  2. Speaking as a cynic and long term Lowe hater I have to say tonight was pretty awesome. The football was slick, clever and controlled and I was very impressed indeed. Not sure how strong a side Birmingham put out but we made them look ordinary. Best football at SMS since the Spurs Cup game I would say. I am partly converted.
  3. One man's "fearless" is another man's "foolhardy"!
  4. Is that your opinion?
  5. A very good post
  6. JP said he wanted to leave? Handy little throw away line to justify the selling imo. I doubt whether JP even knew what Davies looked like let alone his thoughts. No sorry, its just a little too convenient to me that "he wanted to leave". More like a typical bit of Lowe spin. Lowe rewrites history very conveniently don't forget.
  7. If you don't mind me saying this post takes the biscuit for hypocrisy. We were very pleased we had Davies last year so much so he was voted player of the season despite playing so few games - so what is the point in slagging him off. Do you remember his performance at Rovers when he played with a facial injury. It was obvious everyone else in the team could n't care tuppence and yet he gave his heart and soul. I am amazed at folk on here who slag down the likes of Davies and Nigel Pearson just because it fits in with the "Lowe can do nothing wrong" argument. Both did alright for us and the very least we should do is afford them some respect.
  8. Garbage. How do you know he wanted to leave? And how do you know JP didn't want him - I doubt he even saw him play. The fee for Davies was a joke and proves how little Lowe knows about football.
  9. This is blatantly untrue - 3 months before Burley left we were playing awful football, the players were unfit, lacking in confidence and freefall had commenced. Burley was stinking of booze at training according to a lot of people who were there. The guy had bloody lost it and is to blame big time for our predicament. Time you got real.
  10. Takes a brave man to say that on here
  11. If the Chairman had gone behind his back and sold players he was not aware of - resigned. Not saying that is what Lowe has done but it is clear that there is a big gap between what JP wants to happen and what actually does happen. Sooner or later he will feel hacked off I should imagine.
  12. I don't suppose Nigel Pearson would have sat back and let the rug be pulled from under him quite as willingly as JP appears to have done. There has to be a bit of mutual respect in a Chairman/manager relationship but here, right now I am afraid we have a PLC Chairman doing whatever he pleases. Now some might say that is what we need right now because of our financial situation, and I accept that to a point, but eventaully JP is going to have to say to Rupert "enough is enough, do you want to see this side go down" or words to that effect.
  13. So if JP wants to keep him and Surman wants to stay how come a 2.5m deal was arranged. Doesn't make sense or does it?
  14. OK if you have seen him play and you were impressed then you have the right to be happy and I'm glad we have signed him. What irks me is the people on here who had never even heard of him until today but were going OTT. Like someone said its not the hope that gets you its the despair and to big up things without evidence leads to despair when it goes boots up. I think you probably know what I mean. I shall look at him with renewed interest.
  15. If you don't mind I will refrain from describing his signing as "great" or "excellent" until I see him play and if you mean he helped S****horpe get relegated means he is proven then I think your standards are a little low. He may well turn out to be a good acquisition but lets not pump this up too much for Christ's sake.
  16. Why is it excellent news? Only time will judge that!
  17. Lady Saint - to even have a sniff of promotion you need to hold onto players like Davies.
  18. Is your source THAT reliable though Nickh because like you I have heard snippets from good sources but they have all gone very quiet? I have given up believing.
  19. Sounds like not many people have seen him play, he's appeared in so few games and most of them as a sub. Don't like the sound of him at all - even his own Dad doesn't rate him.
  20. NickG - it is bizarre why you think it is OK for the club to mess the fans around
  21. Wasn't Wilde "slagging" down Jones 6 months ago, saying he was not up to the job?
  22. I agree - defending the club who have let a fan down is a bit bizarre
  23. I think I've got that - Thanks!
  24. You will probably get your first wish but......................
  25. And they wonder why the fans are losing interest - if they read this the least they could offer is you a free ticket.
