  1. Coz the new board is providing rays of sunshine and assurance on the playing front. Guess one reason why a song and dance is being made is that the board claimed to be prioritising the commercial. Beyond fuzzy, fan-friendly, this is the concrete first thing they can be judged on. Now it might be that the deal was brokered on Cortese's watch and this is another example of his cavalier attitude to revenues. Of course, you'd have to go back months, possibly as far as November when he tendered his resignation and began to withdraw from the club to make such a claim; or it might be just be that the board's plans are a bit flaky which doesn't augur very well for the most important parts of the 'business'.
  2. The Green Bay Packers don't even have a shirt sponsor - I'd say we're ahead of the game.
  3. Are we going to be stripes? Who's going to sponsor us? All existential dealbreakers.
  4. True. That said, he does appear to do more closing down and defending from the front than your average Liverpool attacker. A very underrated part of his game.
  5. And it's a massive ass.
  6. Agree that NC didn't focus enough on the revenue side and it could give off the appearance of wanton empire-building, though it could be argued that success on the pitch remains the best way to generate a real increase in revenue -the rest is the equivalent of looking for loose change down the back of the couch. The idea that spending under NC was reckless is a complete myth - our balance sheet is one of the healthiest in the league, even after taking account of various cash injections. As a local historian with a supposed understanding of precedent, would have expected more from you.
  7. Don't be a moron in your mongboard game of Chinese whispers - if players noses are out of joint, it's because of offers from other clubs -both in terms of £££ and ambition. We could readily pay Lallana et al. Ramirez-type wages and arguably it would still not be enough. Of course, you'll be pointing to the loss of motivation and the divisive spirit within the camp since signing these marque players. Oh wait
  8. You don't know whether you're coming or going, do you.
  9. You know everything - why did he leave?
  10. That's the bingo bus for you.
  11. A vile and deluded team.
  12. I'd take Winston Reid in an instant.
  13. Jrods up at Newcastle was excellent, especially the speed and incisiveness of the break. Also preferred Lambo's at Fulham to Jrod's in the same game. Great buildup (20+ passes) and one two between Clyne and Davis and a lovely calm finish.
  14. We've been very unlucky with injuries this season, that's for sure. Shown us just how thin the squad is and what little quality in depth we have.
  15. Riveting thread. My head hurts just thinking about the infinitely branching options and permutations that are available.
  16. Milton is that you?
  17. And try to call him by his proper name you patronising c vnt.

    Wanyama

Wanyama had a shocker up at Anfield; otherwise, he played well in the games you mention. Would have been good to see him offer more against Chelsea (a) and how he would have fared against City and Spurs where there were goals galore.

    Wanyama

Will come with time - got a few for Celtic and has a decent shot on him. Confident we'll see more parts of his game next season.
  20. Ok article - nothing special. Lazy references to Didier Deschamps and being a water carrier didn't help. Arguably mischaracterises his game and what he brings to the team.
  21. It's a mongboard, there are mongs on it - it's pretty simple really.
  22. Having seen quite a bit of Leicester, Schmeichel is massively overrated.
  23. With these prize inbreds, the only game here is pin the tail on the donkey.
