To be fair Matthew Le God I don't, but have not seen any reports other than about us having an enquiry rebuffed.

What beats me, is that if he is such a super player why haven't the Premier League clubs started hunting him down.

He could be a big signing in that he has the qualities that we require up front.

Having said that, he wasn't prolific and certainly didn't have a good chances to goals record. Having played without setting the place alight is no recommendation as far as I am concerned and for the money not worth the risk. For what it's worth I see no problem in trying a player at this level to see if he can make this jump. If he can, he could probably make the next one and it wouldn't break the bank either way. If he can't it wouldn't cost as much and he would be saleable if only to return to a lower level. Lots of quality players start at a lower level. We all rave about Sharp and Maynard in either positive or negative fashion. For me the question I would ask is would having Rickie in either of their teams make them better in their place. If the answer is yes then they are not what we want. If either is likely to be better as a partner than Lee or Guly then possibly. What we need is another goalscoring striker but one that can adapt to our manner of play. One that can lead the line if and when Rickie is unavailable as well as play with him. Such a player will not be easy to find and I guess our Nigel will have his own thoughts. Just pray we don't see another Forte.

Maybe we should look elsewhere. Adam Le Fondre perhaps.

That is if we have signed any in time of course.

My only regret so far this season has been the noticeable lack of goal attempts by Lambert from distance. The fact as I see it is that it keeps defenders guessing when they know we can shoot from afar and score at times as well. Draw the defences out and it makes more room in behind.

If that were to be the final outcome then it would indeed be a very Merry Xmas.

I always preferred Newfooty. Lasted much longer than Subutteo as was a good deal stronger and had more control over the figures. Dad gave all of the sets, of both, away just before he died worse luck.

Knowing our club we could easily end up with 2 or 3 players arriving that we hadn't even considered. I won't be surprised to see us going outside the UK for new blood.

We all have one or two players that we feel won't make the step up with us. I actually believe that we might let a couple go if we have replaced with better.

For me we don't need a centre forward, Left or right centre back(?),left or right back,attacking central midfielder(which I see as a Lallana type position,holding midfielder, or ball winning attacking midfielder. That leaves us needing a keeper,central midfielder,speedy striker.

With both getting straight reds will either of them serve three match bans.
