I cannot believe the hyprocrisy and deluded idiocy of your post. Sorry to rant but have you not realised the club as we know it is about to cease to exist. IT IS HANGING ON BY THE SKIN OF ITS TEETH! Just because Leon happens to have enough money to keep the club afloat in its hour of need does not entitle ANYONE to expect him to have the funds to buy the club outright! Its outrageous to expect anything of the man, but given that he is the only ex-major shareholder doing something positive, I suggest that you take your foot out of your mouth and start hoping that his generosity will actually help save the club. I add my personal thanks to Leon for all he is doing AND all his support to the club over the years. He has more of a claim to SFC than any other shareholder I know of - he does more than talk the talk...the man walks the walk too.

Incredible! Brighton secure £93m from new owner!
Saint Fan CaM replied to Saint Fan CaM's topic in The Saints
Just still cannot understand how Brighton can manage this and yet Saints are on the verge of meltdown with 120 odd years of heritage and history about to be thrown away. I was born in Brighton and do follow their progress, so I guess at least I'll have a proper reason to support them if Saints go bust. That in no way compensates for the way I feel about the depth of incompetent management at Saints though. -
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6315929.ece Could they be the new force or at least 2nd best team on the South coast? How is it that SFC is not more attractive to a buyer than Brighton? Where are all our rich supporters in our time of need? I am SO depressed this evening reading on the one hand SFC's close demise and on the other hand another smaller club's ability to raise huge funds - much more than we need to stay afloat. I cannot help but think there is something we're still not being told about the financial issues at SMS - something that stinks to high-heaven.

Utterly fanciful thinking. We are nearer to closing the club down than deciding a manager unfortunately.
-
I can only imagine that the lack of information on the OS reflects the dire level of dis-repair the club is in right now. A hollow shell.

Well I've been watching and waiting all day - trying to get some work done at the same time. I feel its all over - Fry has failed for the club it would seem and this Friday will go down as Saints Black Friday 15th May 2009. RIP Saints FC. :smt087 :smt009 :smt090 :smt089 :smt078

Fry doesn't strike me as a man that would sh*t himself frankly. He has the joker in his hands - MJ's group.

The trouble is you use terms such as 'fluid' and after everyone picks themselves up off the floor or wipes the coffee from their monitor, they question your judgement and therefore your actual knowledge. If you do know about sf and tsf as you claim, you would understand this, so some are left wondering whether you're on a wind-up. How close are you to the action? Can you say how close we are to a deal? With what certainty will there be news tomorrow? What exactly is holding up the process? These are all questions that need answering - I know its not your responsibility, but understand that everyone needs to know these things to rest easy.

Hi Ron - I share your gloomy outlook unfortunately. I find it hard to believe any serious party would leave it this late in the day to make a move. When it goes this late in my experience its pretty much game over barring a miracle. I wonder whether there is enough time left to seriously expect Fry to tie up a deal before there's no cash-flow whatsoever.

Its all about balance and Lowe got that wrong - completely. He needed to recognise that primarily fans don't look at the stadium - they look at a patch of grass and the quality of the players running on it over 90mins. No good having a s****y 40,000 seater stadium if nobody wants to go there. He lost his customers because he allowed the product to deteriorate significantly. He didn't get it so failed to invest in the right areas = he did nothing right (in my book).

8 days eh? Do you really, honestly believe that 8 days will be enough time to sort out the deal and get papers signed? 48 hours eh? You REALLY believe it was going to take that short amount of time?!? LOL. Look, I'm no expert and perhaps Fry can pull it out of the bag, but it now seems to me that its going to be bad news. Companies that I know of that have gone into administration and then take this long to sort out re-financing have arrrived at the point of no return. Its a hard pill to swallow and I am hoping I am totally wrong, but to me its looking like a disaster.

Oh yes... +1.
-
Thank God there's someone with half an ounce of common...
-
Yawn...errr, sorry, did someone say something...??
-
And your point is....?
-
Gut feeling, but lets just say that we travelled 80% of the time between Fry being appointed to 21st May when the next pay cheque needs paying. Thus (very approximately) 20% chance now in purely time based terms factoring in fact there are supposed bids on the table.
-
If nothing happens by this Friday, I think there's a good chance it's goodnight Vienna for SFC. This is frustrating, but its also extremely worrying and I am starting to develop a sense that Fry will fail as the supposed bidders are nothing but advanced tyre-kickers. If I were to put a figure on it, I would say there's only a 20% chance now of take-over going ahead before the club dies.
-
I like your thinking!
-
I cannot make the game and might have gone perhaps even at £20 - in fact probably would have bought two tickets. However, I have to wonder whether (a) its actually going to enable the takeover to be strung out furher and (b) we should be paying more money into a fund that we have no sight of in terms of its beneficiary. Its no good saying - "its to save the club" - when in fact a large proportion will go to paying the salary of players who have either not played for us this season and/or have put in rubbish performances for us and/or will be leaving SFC at the earliest opportunity - or indeed a combination of all of these. Sorry, but as much as I want Saints to survive and like others have said, the current state of affairs has to stop soon. We're fast running outta patience and wonga Mr Fry.
-
WHAT?! How the hell can that be - he had previously reported a bid had been made?
-
Calm down guys - do you really think MLT would get involved with a bidder that had no substance? Be patient - its not over yet.
-
LOL - you're right - see what happens when you're waiting for critical news from your fav footie team!

OK - there's a few battles being waged against ITK types on here, so I thought it would be a good idea to come up with a key that ITK's could use without revealing any sensitive info as follows. The ITK-er can just use the relevant keys to indicate what they know by making a code...(example code - starting with source... A:C:B:A:B:E). The rules are simple - use the code or do not post an ITK statement atall. Nobody is allowed to question a code - its there for info only. Failure to observe the rules means ban from the forum until such time Fry makes an announcement or SFC is no-more (gulp). A new takeover thread could be started to under here as a sticky for all new ITK rumours. SOURCE A = From the horses mouth B = From someone the horse knows C = From someone not connected, but highly trusted to know D = From a complete no-mark who is probably guessing AVAILABLE WEDGE A = Obscenely wealthy (>£1b) B = Healthy wealthy (>£500m) C = OK wealthy (>£100m) D = Piddling wealthy (£30-£100m) E = Wilde wealthy (oh dear) PLANS A = Prem in 4 years B = Prem in 5 years C = Prem in 6 years D = CCC in 5 years E = L1 for forseeable BIDDER NAME A = Household name to all B = Household name to few C = Person known within football world D = Person known to few E = Complete unknown or left-field LIKELY FAN APPRECIATION A = Will be ecstatic about this bidder B = Will probably love this bidder C = Will be happy but ambivilent D = Will be happy SFC is saved, but not overjoyed E = This is going to be worse than Lowe and Wilde combined TIMESCALE FOR REVEALING ALL A = Next 12 hours B = Next 24 hours C = This week sometime D = Any given Friday E = I do not have a clue - Fry is the man with the plan

When you say stretch, I take it you mean Ruperts waistband?

I am sure its not just Barings who found the scandal somewhat less than funny Duncan. It amply demonstrates the incompetencies of certain such individuals in the finance and banking industry including their detachment from the real world.
