Transfer Deadline Day Jan 2017 Edition
Monk replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
This. -
Looks like this could be off.
-
Understand people being frustrated but I think Puel did the right thing and 'took a bullet' for tonight. Only criticism I have was that he should have played Taylor ahead of Lewis; bit harsh for a nineteen year old to play against Arsenal behind a centre back pairing who have played a combined four times for saints in the last two years.
-
Question; if Virgil is out, how much of a priority is a new centre back that isn't cup tied? Will a players eligibility to play in the final eliminate the priority of the transfer? Harry Maguire (cup tied) Mamadou Sakho Andrea Ranocchia Tasic Jagielka (named in squad but didn't play)

Staff tickets sorted - now onto the travel.
-
Subotic was available on loan.
-
Finally got home with Mum and newborn, sat down to watch with baby! God knows how baby didn't end up on the other side of the room when Long scored. Amazing
-
As SKD says, I'd be very surprised if the injury is long term. If the foot was fractured, Saints would have ruled him out by now and not 'assessed his fitness' on the day of the game. I think he'll be in the squad tonight.
-
Feel for Marco Silva, gone into a club, made a decent impression already and the clubs being asset stripped right in front of him.

Currently sat around waiting for the arrival of baby so with some time on my hands; heres a little light reading. (some are copy and paste jobs) Jan Poortvliet After resigning as Saints gaffer; JP went on to manage FC Eindhoven, Telstar & FC Del Bosch only having marginal success with FC Eindhoven reaching the qualification round of promotion/relegation to Eredivisie. Antti Niemi One of the few Finnish footballers to grace England’s Premier League, Antti Niemi retired in 2008 due to a wrist injury. PLEASE have Marcus Barnes in the squad!
-
Calum Wilson?

I only stay anonymous because of work. Still pretty easy to find on twitter. The second you start worrying about what some boring prat from Sholing thinks of you, you're in trouble.
-
Still waiting. Had a call at work from the missus who's on the red alert with every sneeze. Got home, to absolutely nothing. Birthday today, be a nice little present if she arrives.
-
This is true, he is one of our ambassadors for our programme at work for The FA which support grassroots football.
-
Do we rotate more than other teams? I've found out so you don't have to
Monk replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
Perhaps the year Fulham made the final would've been a worthwhile look. -
This. I'm a big fan of Janssen, looked very good against England before his move. It's no secret he's been pony this year but I still think theres something to work with.
-
**** off, theres so absolute cracking coaches at the FA!
-
So do I! Oh well
-
Hw has Murphy played? Saints have been monitoring him for a few months now.
-
Stephens is not a right back ffs. Shame no Marcus Barnes. Good luck Harry.
-
So just simulated our latest 'predicament' on FM. Jose moved to Liverpool with Saints signing Sakho in return and Gabi chap from Napoli. Saints finished 15th. Knocked out of round 1 from EL on away goals to Borussia Monchengladbach. Knocked out of League Cup by United in QF. Knocked out of FA Cup by Newcastle in Round 5. Puel kept his job. Top scorer Gabidianni with 28 for the season. Top average rating: Sakho with 7.16
-
Schar over Sakho for me. Not convinced on Gabianinininiaia or however you spell it. Pleasing to hear we might actually be active this January.
-
I wonder where we would be if Nicola had stayed... interesting.
