Not immediately no. But quite possibly he could spend next season integrating with the first team, coming off the bench to replace Lallana, with a view to giving Lallana what he wants at the end of next season and letting him go to a Champions League club, and McQueen stepping into his shoes in the 2015/16 season.

This lad is quality. I've seen him play a few times (some 2 or 3 years ago, twice last season) and each time he's been seriously impressive. He's suffered with a serious injury that kept him out for a very long time but he was back playing the majority of last season. Great left foot, strong, good balance and skillful; I genuinely believe this lad will be a big star and will be a regular in the first team match day squad next season.

Seems a bit too keen for the long ball (which is probably due to Lennon's style) but this guy looks quality. A defender that has an eye for goal, plays with his head up, can draw players in and beat a man. Get him on the bus.

Dream Scenario....we play Spurs, away, eight games into the season. Spurs have only accumulated 3 points from the first 8 games, are without a win, and lie bottom of the league. We race to a three goal lead (where a win will take us top of the league) inside the first 20 minutes and the rest of the game we sing 'sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the morning, sacked in the mooooooooorning, you're getting sacked in the morning' for the remaining 70 minutes (whilst taking the occasional time out to sing a song about one of our players; how much we hate pompey; 'Oh when the Saints'; and to go for a wee.....not together.....that would be weird). If Carlsberg did justice....

Good job Andy Portef wasn't in charge of player personnel decisions!!!

What gets my goat is people who think they own the moral high ground by saying things like 'remain calm and see we're we are in August'. Well of course we'll have to just see where we are in August. However, if I want to voice my frustration at what is going on right now, I am well within my rights to do so. So pipe down.
-
They call that blind faith don't they? Or just complete and utter ignorance to what is plainly evident.
-
Does it get your goat? Ok then.
-
Is there anyone out there amongst us Internet mongs that really believes that we should 'wait until August before judging the board'? That was the tripe being spouted by some on this forum after his interview and I said then, and say again, the new Chairman is all fart, no ****. Just a lot if hot air. Krueger is a complete c u n t. The only thing worse than a c u n t like Cortese is a disingenuous c u n t like Krueger. Do us all a favour and f u c k off Krueger. I'm not sure if my words above gets across my anger and disappointment...

All these idiots saying "it's ok if we sell Lambert, Lallana, Lovren, Shaw etc as long as we bring quality replacements in"...can I point you in the direction of Norwich and Sunderland last summer who both shelled out on lots of new players. And Spurs. Worked out well for them didn't it.

It's like you extracted post that from my head. Can't disagree with anything you wrote.

I hope its true. The guy has been an absolute colossus for Saints. Putting aside whatever is going on at our club, Lambert to Liverpool is his dream move and would be a second lot of icing on the cake (after his World Cup call up) for his astounding rise through the ranks. Good luck to him. There is no one more deserving.

His abilities to 'polish rough diamonds' and give 'youth a chance' are simply not enough to warrant being the 'only choice' to replace MP. His style of play I'm afraid is a thing of the past. Utd's approach under Moyes was very similar to his approach at Everton -and I can best describe it as attritional. Very little speed in their play and their approach was to be resolute, to try and bully teams, to be strong defensively and to be strong at set pieces. Over the years, he was able to buy in players at Everton that suited that style and so it was successful. At Utd, he never got that chance, and the personnel they had there didn't suit that style so it didn't work. I fear the same would be the case at Saints. Nothing against the bloke; I just don't think his style of play is anything close to what Saints have been trying to implement so I just can't see him being appointed.

Oooh the suspense is killing me. No, really. I hope Adam calls "bull****" on him.
-
Turkish, you're right. We have some proper helmets for fans.
-
Calling him a moron is not a pathetic tantrum. Feel free to watch the awards evening and his speech at that, and then tell me you don't think he's a moron.
-
Some can bury their heads in the sand and claim the rest of us are bedwetters blah blah blah. The more intelligent amongst us can see through the hollow words of our new Chairman, and see what's really going on. For what its worth, feel free to read through my posting history and you'll see I am actually normally very positive, even up to the last few weeks and days. However, the evidence is just too overwhelming to ignore. The owners and this board will be happy to milk the PL revenues and player sales with minimal investment for as long as they can.
-
I'm not whinging. Kruger is just clearly one of these guys I see at work who spends his days pushing bull**** around meeting rooms like a dung beetle. I'm surprised his statement didnt include more crappy business cliche's "let's not reinvent the wheel", "don't boil the ocean" etc etc. He's a moron.

I'd have preferred silence to that piece of **** statement we have released.

Club Statement: "Southampton FC First Team Manager Mauricio Pochettino has left the club with immediate effect. Ongoing legal matters prevent the club from providing more information on his departure, however, in the spirit of transparency and open communication, you may want to check out http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com, or any reputable news outlet (and most of the disreputable ones too)" #inthespiritoftransparency

Traitor to the Saints cause? Grow up you mong.

Whoever loses today, would be happy to take either Will Hughes or Charlie Austin.

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
Tom28 replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Anyone else think Cortese has lined up a bid for the club? This whole destabilisation campaign in the media since he left, now this interview to get the fans onside and make the fans think he's a better option than the incumbents, and then his knowing smile at the end of the interview. Chances are extremely slim but if takeover talks are in progress, it might explain these player bids that are seemingly on hold, the MP talks that are seemingly on hold, and the silence within the club about the direction the board is taking the club. I've watched too many conspiracy theory TV dramas.... -
He's not though, is he. He is a very good left back and only lost his place through injury. Good age too.
