  1. We are selling our better players when offers come in. That's basically what he has said today. "Live within our means". Shame because I think the minute one or two go, the momentum we've had the last few years goes out the window.
  2. Suspect the team sheet will have some surprises in it where players haven't quite recovered from midweek matches. I definitely think Yoshida, Wanyama and Shaw will all rested/on the bench. (Shaw looked like he picked up a knock during the England game and was struggling at one point). I'm expecting to see Boruc, Chambers, Fonte, TBC, Clyne, Cork, Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, TBC, TBC Lambert
  3. I thought he played quite well on Saturday. So, no.
  4. My thoughts are that you've picked 18 games as a measure because it just so happens that those 18 games best support your subjective agenda. If you'd picked 28 games I.e. the entire season this far, it would show that we've won 10, drawn 9, lost 9 which would, in turn, show that you've excluded a run of results that returned 5 wins and 4 draws with no defeats. My thoughts are also that you're a moron.
  5. Predictions for Saints call ups today? I'm going with Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert, Shaw and Clyne.
  6. He's been picked to play for the U19's again.
  7. Is anyone else dumbfounded as to why Calum Chambers hasn't been selected in the U21's? He's now a starter for a top 10 PL team and yet he can't make the U21 squad. I thought he was in with an outside chance of a full England call up this week. Very odd.
  8. What I think they'll go with: Hart, Foster, Forster Walker, Johnson, Jagielka, Cahill, Smalling, Jones, Baines, Cole Gerrard, Wilshere, Henderson, Carrick, Sterling, Ox, Lallana, Milner Welbeck, Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert What I would go with: Hart, Foster, Forster Walker, Chambers, Jagielka, Cahill, Dawson, Davies, Baines, Shaw Gerrard, Wilshere, Cork, Ox, Sterling, Lallana, Barkley, Townsend, Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert, J-Rod
  9. I am most definitely ITK on this and it's interesting to see which posters are completely full of ****. First off.... 1) We have not held in London since the takeover. We've had it about 18 months. 2) NC never worked there. He visited on a couple of occasions. 3) GR didn't use it (what would he use it for anyway?) The office was set up for two reasons. Primarily, it gave us a London presence which is important as many of the head offices of the companies we were looking to tie into Sponsorship deals are based in London. As another poster has said, many other PL teams have London offices, also in Mayfair. Man Utd's office was opposite the Saints' office. Second, but less important, two of the Sponsorship team at the time were London based anyway. However, the London 'presence' hasn't delivered the returns the club were expecting. Additionally, one of the two London based members of the team has now been fired anyway.
  10. Sums up my thoughts completely.
  11. We've got the sheriff [and Jesus is his deputy]
  12. GET.A.LIFE.
  13. I posted on another thread that our amazing second half performance owed as much to Fulham's tiring legs as anything else. All these people saying Wanyama is crap and Cork and Clyne were the big difference makers are talking absolute crap. Fulham came flying out the traps first half. They were never going to be able to keep up with us. When they tired, we saw even more of the ball and they were a yard off the pace. As I said on that other thread...same starting eleven for me against Stoke please. MP has said its either Wanyama or Cork; not both. And against Stoke, I would take Wanyama over Cork.
  14. Boruc Chambers Fonte Yoshida Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin Davis Lallana Rodriguez Lambert Subs: Davis Hooiveld Clyne Cork JWP Guly Gallagher Think we need Wanyama's bulk against Stoke. Same goes for Chambers over Clyne. People shouldn't underestimate the importance of Fulham's fatigue in the second half yesterday. They came flying out the traps in the first half and then couldn't keep up in the second. That made our lot look so much better. Still Wanyama and Chambers for me.

    Wanyama

He's a tank and he is a very important part of our team. Some games I would want Wanyama ahead of Cork eg. Generally against the top sides where we need someone to break up play and where we see less of the ball.
  16. I'm pleased. We've got rid of Barnard, Sharp, Martin, Fox, and hopefully Osvaldo. In has come Gallagher, Targett, Reed to the first team squad. We are in a position where we have pretty much locked into 9th for the rest of the season. Those young players can get invaluable experience over the next 3-4 months. And we have saved ourselves a fortune that could be put to better use in the summer. I worry slightly about centre back but maybe an opportunity to look at Turnbull or Stephens over the next few months?
  17. I lumped on £10 at 66/1 in pre-season. COYR...
  18. I lumped on £10 at 66/1 in pre-season. COYR...
  19. Right then, back to normality. Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw Schneiderlin Cork Davis Lallana Rodriguez Lambert Subs: Davis, Chambers, Yoshida, JWP, Gallagher, Guly, Ramirez
  20. Sorry to see him go. Best leader this club has ever had. Hope, but don't expect, to see him back at some stage in the future. Club legend.
  21. You are showing a lack of intelligence if you thought he would disclose the details of that conversation.
  22. My theory is that it is Rickie Lambert. Lambert hasn't looked right on the pitch for about 3 months. Doesn't celebrate scoring; doesn't seem the same player. If it is true that Cortese handed his notice in 3 months ago, perhaps Lambert has been aware of this and has been going through the motions as he knew he would be out the door during this window, which is perhaps why the West Ham rumours have become stronger in the last couple of weeks? Just a theory. Think I'm putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 13 but thought I would share my theory anyway!

    Howard Webb

Had a good game. Those saying otherwise are ignorant morons.
  24. 2-1 Saints. Lallana to score first.
