  1. May as well recruit David Icke as GK coach. WE never got 25k on average during our play off / got rid of Lowe season so don't see how KK can be more motivating than a return to the Premiership for our 'loyal and committed' fans.
  2. Hope you are right, Ince would represent a step forward as oppose to the usual joy of many on here of welcoming back an old boy. Its a logic I have never really understood as any player/manager is only really loyal to their current employers and diamonds like MLT are very rare. In this case KK's performances as a manager since his first stint as Newcastle manger have IMO been found seriously wanting and we want to appoint someone who turned their back on the game so completely he didn't even watch a game for 3 years after his time at Man City. Wouldn't be in front of any of the other 92 league managers and a few non league and out of work managers as well. The appointment of KK would not IMO represent ambition by Pinnacle but an Ashley like pot of money backed by a similar lack of judgement.
  3. I don't understand why Lynham, Fry, MLT or anyone else connected with the Pinnacle bid should pander to the collective neurosis of this forum. Lets face it the regular posters don't even make up 5% of the current dismal number of ST holders waiting to renew their tickets so why should Pinnacle announce their plans on here first or even acknowledge the collective whinging, it's embarrassing. The Echo isn't much better allegedly looking to this forum or NI for their stories and soundbites. Personally, I will wait for the press conference and hear it from the horses mouth and until then I continue to hope no news is good news but equally aware that nothing will surprise me.
  4. Thinking does this need another thread? Also how does dropping down a league make it unaffordable? If we went into the Premeirship and charged £30 a ticket my guess is you would suddenly become wealthy enough to go and 'watch' the team. Topic being debated well enough on another thread.
  5. I think prices should be set at or near the level of last season's March madness. Lets support the new owner in their quest. As fans if we want to help return the club to the Championship let alone the Premiership we need to provide support through our wallets and in significant numbers. I find it laughable that with no guarantee on an increase in average gates that fans expect a significant reduction in pricing. L1 we may be but we have a 10 point deficit to overcome and whilst we maybe able to reduce further the wages of the playing staff it can't be by a significant amount if we intend to have the quality on board to push for a quick promotion. As usual some of our fans want to rely on some invisible investor to effectively bail us out as oppose to digging deep and supporting the cause. We may not have debt to service in the brave new world that will also reduce costs but if the average attendance doesn't recover and the club reduces prices as suggested them IMO we are all collectively showing a lack of support and ambition. You pay for what you get and in the absence of any sure sign that average gates will return to c23-25k then IMO I don't understand how significant price reductions in STs can be married to investment to meet the club's ambitions. The club must be self-sufficient and not reliant on the cash of a multi-millionaire as a prop. The commitment to a 5 year business plan in this instance (we are not talking corporate retail here) must come from the leaders at the club and the fans and we have already witnessed what happens when support from one side falls away. Are fans saying if Season Tickets for centre stands are about £390 and wings/goals £350 they will not renew or buy a S/T? Seems a bit odd that £17 a game or less would not be acceptable to those who wanted this new era.
  6. Smug arrogant celebrities - I've got one. Give you 3 guesses...
  7. I agree with your comments Derry but its a bit like finding yourself between a rock and hard place. Taking your final paragraph as a scenario there is no reason why we should know the indentity of the person behind the deal and we should respect their privacy. On the other there will be endless speculation on here and in the local media and whether it's a storming or a faltering start for MLT and TL there will probably be endless speculation about further investment from our very own Austin Powers (Man of Mystery). Being totally honest I don't know what would be for the best. I like the mystery and if I was in the same position I would prefer to take a back seat. However, I don't think I could put up with the endless specualtion and rumours either regarding the new owners identity and/or speculation if there are further funds for investment, which no doubt the fans will start to question, success or failure.
  8. We agree about something then. It doesn't need to be a trend but worth acknowledging nonetheless as our morals seem similar if not our opinions.
  9. But what if you have a link to the one man who will know more than most why come on to a forum where none of us know nothing apart from those who drop morsels of info now and again. Sorry but it doesn't make sense if you take the question at face value. Could it be there is a 'little **** waving' going on to see if anyone on the forum actually knows anything? Otherwise, why undermine what I thought must be a valued and respected link if not friendship. If the Gaffer is aware that MLT has not even told his brother does he believe MLT will be happy with him starting this thread? I have no issue with the question in fact I welcome it but IMO it is suspicious coming from a brother of an allegedly well connected person. At best all it's doing is feeding the rumour mill which is odd given the source of the original post. It appears none of us will know the answer until the time is right which of course is the new owner's perogative and although I would like to know their identity I respect and understand why they would prefer to remain behind the scenes.
  10. If you want to start a thread about slagging off Saints fans, to use your choice of phase, how about we discuss those idiots in the Echo yesterday allegedly throwing objects at the Burnley fans. Makes you proud to be a Saint doesn't it? It seems 4 remain unidentified.
  11. Indeed and may I suggest all the more surprising when it is asked by a brother of Mike Osman who allegedly has close links with MLT who apparently hasn't told his own brother. I think most of this thread has been targeted at the gaffer as to why ask the question in the first place.
  12. Not usually as that's not my name. I once knew a Mrs Lovett-Standing and as I understood it formerly a Miss Standing until she got married.
  13. I expect you're right and if I keep asking the questions for you, 1 day we'll find out. I post to understand others and put my point of view across and not to win a popularity contest. Provided I don't get threatened, falsely accused or sent ridiculously offensive responses I don't care I get responses like yours as it usually proves a point.
  14. Ever taken your car in for a service and be told that they were able to complete it in half the time so have halved the labour costs? No me neither in fact I am amazed I seem to get charged double for work that should have been covered in the original quote. Perhaps I am just lucky for having an unusual christian name but I dread those words in the Service Reception Area - 'Mr Canteen your car is ready'.
  15. Who are you directing these comments at? Look at the thread title and original post and then read Influenced post above? In short don't post if you don't want to answer questions that may arise and some very obvious ones do in this case. I and a few others are not sh*te stirring but trying to unblock the drain so this sh*te can be flushed from where it came.
  16. Nick, Sorry about my pm's but you can make an educate guess as to why I chose to shut it down and i have no problem with commenting on my posts as you see fit. My personal opinion of Mike Osman is just that. I don't particularly like him as a comedian/dj in the same way I don't care for the likes of Jim Davidson, Roy Chubby Brown, Jon Guant, Alan Brazil, Darren Gough, Ian Hislop, Rory Bremner, The Pub Landlord (whatever his name is) etc etc. IMO the way he destroyed the Alan Ball memorial with his banshee antics on the microphone personally made me cringe. At the Q&A evening where I expect some people without such a major axe to grind with Lowe attended the evening quietly did not appreciate his parading of the picture of Lowe with the noose above his head. Was that in keeping with the spirit of the evening because to some I would guess it was as unwelcome as it was unfunny. That of course was made worse by the sight of McMenemy in the background smiling away all the while wiping the previous two seasons from their collective memory. There are many, you included whose views and actions I respect. Many of those in fact who are on the other side of the scale with regard to my opinions but even though they may not have Osman's privilege status of being about to speak publicly at events like the legends evening they still manage to conduct themselves with more sympathy to both sides of the fence regardless of where the majority stands. As I say that is just my opinion. Mike Osman IMO seemed to enjoy lampooning Lowe is it not reasonable that occasionally he may have to put up with his own critics?
  17. Then can I suggest you report me and get me banned. Having a different opinion to others does not equal Troll especially when opinion is often supported with reasoning where necessary. Please do me a favour and get me banned as I am beginning to understand that passionate hatred can give meaning to an empty life. Where would you be without me to test your blind prejudice?
  18. LOL but true I don't like double standards.
  19. I don't know if I should answer that question as I haven't pretended to be him in the past.
  20. Answer the question and I will .
  21. I'll learn to paraphrase if you learn to speed read and hopefully we'll get the time to stick our head out of the window and find the grass is nudging the window sill - and I live in a first floor maisonette.
  22. There are two rules for success in business: 1) Never tell all you know. 2)
