  1. Followed by John Christie. p.s. Think the previous post should be Fred Kiernan. Can't spell.
  2. Tommy Mulgrew came from Newcastle. Scored on his debut although as said, he missed more than he scored. Think he came with another Welsh international, Wyn Davies who only played a couple of games before retiring through injury. Whatever, he certainly didn't do a lot for Saints. Wasn't there another goalkeeper around the time of Ian Black, - by name, Hugh Kelly. And of course dear old Fred Keirnan.
  3. Spare a thought for us exiles over the water. We oil-a wighters are stuck with a PO post code
  4. Perhaps they should consider appointing Rupert to sort the finances out Storrie & Lowe. What a 'dream', (or nightmare) team.
  5. If that was a featured game, thank God it was'nt just highlights. Well worth sitting through two thirds of the programme for thirty secdonds of action, - I DONT THINK !, and also thank God for the 'FF' and 'Rew' buttons on the tape deck. This programme started as crap and has got progressively worse.
  6. 'The Southerner' is now a bank. Not much use for 'der mutter und kinder'. 'The Queens' is now a theme pub. Don't know what the theme is though. 'The Nag's Head' is another theme pub' Last time I looked it was Japanese, but it changes that often it could be anything now
  7. Sorry, don't think he played in the pPremiership. more's the pity
  8. What about big Joe Corrigan. !
  9. As per a previous posting the whole format is 'hog-wash' The anchor-man should be fitted with one, and the 'Skate' summariser is merely reading from the 'Dictionary of Commentators Quotes', Loopy Liz should have been dumped after the first programme. The programme is on too late for the non-technically equiped, i.e. IT, tape, and/or DVD, and like every other programme on the 'Beeb', it never starts on time and is preceded by the inevitable 'non-advertisements'. Apart from that, I suppose it's adequate. ! Amen.
  10. Smallest pub in So'ton, about two doors down from the Odeon. 'The Portland Arms', - I think. !
  11. 'Thrippleton's' meat pies. famous through out the Island. A real bag filler for a trip to Oldham. And a flask of Crowleys Alton Bitter to wash it down. Think the shop remained as a conventional cafe before the Orientals moved in to the 'Jade Garden'
  12. Also featured in the build-up to the best goal ever. Just a little 'shimmy' on the edge of the ' box, to Channon' ?.
  13. Anybody know the tune from the '60's by 'The Rivingtons', and the 'Beach Boys' 'Papa oo moww moww' new version: 'Papa Waigo go, Papa Waigo go' It has a good beat and not too difficult to learn. It might be suitable. Perhaps the moron in charge of pre-match entertainment, and thinks that everybody is deaf, could play it if was requested.
  14. westofshannonsaint re: Saints/ManU 6-3. Not the same game as the shirt changing episode. Think that ended 3-1, corrections welcome, (not too hard with the whip). P.S. Who is Tony Adams. ?
  15. Neither did Souness, but he does now. !
  16. In a word. NO!
  17. Yuo are quite right. The DH linesman jumped the gun at least twice, and flagged before the ball was kicked. apart from being the only person in St Mary's to see a hand to ball incident that eveyone, inc'the referee, thought was offside. Thank God the linesman wasn't on goal-line duty. (Another waste of time and money).
  18. WTF is Mark Paul ?
  19. After seeing your new team mates yesterday, Waigo, why stay. Didier Drogba. One that Saints did'nt sign, recommended by Terry Cooper.
  20. Every thing sounds dreadful on Solent. !
  21. Give the lad a break. Are we not expecting TOO much from him.?, after all he's only 18, and would admit himself that he's no Alan Shearer. Give him some encouragement, not continuous 'sniping'.
  22. Hope he's not related to the Ali (N')Dia(ya)'s from Monrovia
  23. ...and Wai not
  24. Why not send him down the road, in an easterly direction, They're down by the head with rubbish so no one will notice.
