Indeed, the loss of anyone who is passionate about football is a blow to the sport and transcends rivalry. It's only a game.
-
I'd pay not to watch that.

How wide is this slide? It had better be a dual carriageway. And no I don't want a go on the bouncy castle.
-
Why is Grealish allowed to ignore the shinpad rules? He wears little girls' Barbie ankle pads.

I didn't bother to retain the names but I did hear the guy from Southampton City Council absolutely own the bloke from pompey on the radio this week. pompey councillor. Our city is much better, blah, blah, blah... Interviewer. What does Southampton have that pompey doesn't? Soton councillor. Nineteen Premier League matches a season....
-
That is funny! Southampton City Council have to accept that when it comes to going downhill fast the league table shows that the bestest are also the slidiest.

I think he went there in mid-april and asked Phil if he knew any golf-related stories - he's halfway through the first one at the moment...

For sale, 3,000 litres of red paint, impulse purchase....buyer collects.

who told Harry that this was a good idea? The same bloke who did the #AskHarry? The poor old bloke might have been right all along, he isn't a criminal or a fraud as a manager, he's just surrounded by idiots who keep giving him bonkers advice.

If they're that concerned about their football traditions why don't they just go with their original salmon pink? I presume the red was just to reflect the colours of their bank statements for the last decade.
-
Bearing in mind they are a bit obsessed about colour, that's going to be interesting. I look forward to seeing a Liebherr work platform parked up in Gunwharf to enable the application of the red onto the iconic symbol of the city. We know that their children will wear our shirts but to start painting everything red and white at this early stage is a surprise...

Upsetting only 30 people in a city of near on 200,000 seems a small price to pay for the education and well-being betterment of our city as a whole. Yeah, that's how you justify fencing off a public green space. Perhaps Saints should plant a flag in Hoglands Park and fence it off, for the betterment of the city. But let's just clarify the great folk story of 2008, the legend that 250,000 gathered on Southsea Common.... So that means that every single resident of the island was there, every house, flat and caravan was empty that day - plus they bussed in 45,000 from elsewhere. That is right up there with £13m income from every home game.

It's not fair to judge celebs on brief encounters, but here goes! Re Damon Hill, I also found him very miserable from a meeting about ten years ago, and then last year I witnessed first hand the appalling behaviour of some of the public to him and I had some sympathy. He just struggles to tell the difference between small polite kids and the hordes of very annoying rude blokes with cameras that they can't operate and five things to sign. Surtees and Moss, top blokes. Steve Gerrard, I politely asked him to sign a pair of boots a few years back which he did - in silence. We shared a precious 30 seconds together, he didn't utter a single word. Worst I've come across? Mel B. She ain't the sharpest tool in the box, and she thinks she's a superstar. I worked with her a couple of times, and declined a third.... For instance, she couldn't eat with everyone else, she had to have a meal specially prepared and biked across London at huge expense. She didn't eat it. Then she wanted to go shopping. Her driver had to do a 3-point turn in Oxford Street because she refused to cross the road to a second shop, she insisted on making a grand entrance from the back of a limo. Look at me, look at me! Meanwhile she rings around papers begging them to come and photograph her at airports/clubs, while moaning about the paparazzi who won't leave her alone. She had an entourage of seven the last time I had the misfortune of seeing her. If you ever run out of luck and bump into her my tip is just mention Eddie Murphy and she'll leg it. Thankfully most people I've met have not disappointed but it's a dangerous game meeting heroes - especially if you admire someone and the 10 secs you share with them involve you being told to F off.
-
Don't moan - how many highlights did you expect them to have from that sort of season? I was impressed that they managed to find two minutes.
-
GB is correct, the attendance debate ended years ago - they lost, on every count. I'd even question the sanity of any pompey fan who wanted to continue the argument. Twas a landslide, and as our all time average continues to climb with every season, the gap gently widens.

Osvaldo in the news for all the wrong reasons... again
rallyboy replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
send Brendan Rodgers a tape of his goal against Man City, he should offer us about £30m + Sturridge. -
I'm led to believe that we got the stadium for free by not paying our CVA. The former SS tank commander refused to pay anyone off so the council had to give us the stadium, which we now fill with free tickets issued to asylum seekers and illegal immigrants, many of whom leave at half time or boo their own team. These are all standard repeated 'facts' on Portsea. You need to understand the illness.

The deluded simpleton few who argue about history, make up stuff about Saints and think that we are jealous are the main reason this thread continues, they fuel it with their madness. There are six simple words that they will refuse to hear, but this little sentence sum up where we all are in 2015..... They are no longer our rivals.

Call me old school but seeing pix of Clyne hanging out in London night clubs with Arsenal and Aston Villa players, some displaying their homemade tats plus lack of taste and professionalism, just made me think one thing - sell him. As for Villa, if my team had just scraped league safety and been destroyed in a cup final, would I want to see them out partying with the winners?....
-
If we forget the ridiculous amounts we managed to get last summer I would say that £13/14m is pretty decent for Clyne. But let's not give him away. If Liverpool really want him they will go to £15m surely? Either way they can stick their £10m bid right up their Mersey Tunnel.
-
He'll be used to not getting paid from his time at Rangers.
-
Yes, they took over the franchise of a disgraced club, just to buy Southern League success, in a lovely pink shirt, and managed to go 13 years before being wound up. The main financial debacles were 1911, mid-70s, 98 and the two recent ones. A glorious history. I look forward to Admin VI.

Have you just quoted an entire chapter?....

FIFA corrupt? I think there must be some mistake, no doubt there is a simple explanation for everything - including how Qatar got the world cup.
