  1. I thought it was funny
  2. My thoughts exactly
  3. Fair enough, it's a bit curate's egg- depends how you see it. The cross for West Ham's second goal was great, as was Chicharito's movement, so I don't hold too much against Maya for that. What I did notice was the amount of important tackles and interceptions he made, not to mention that it was his persistence that got the winning penalty. Ultimately we know that Maya works better with a commanding CB partner, that will always be the case. I honestly think that without him yesterday we would have been much, much worse. NB it's the first game I've been to see live for about 3 years, so maybe my eye for a player is a bit rusty.
  4. Seconded, easily my MoM!
  5. Bit late to the party here, but I'd disagree with the shadow comment. Korea has a stellar reputation in Asia despite still being relatively unknown in the West. Koreans are proud of the country's rapid economic development (something even China has tried to learn from), while K-pop etc has permeated other Asian countries in the same way that American pop music has the rest of the world. I've not ever come across a sense that Koreans feel they're living in the shadow of China or Japan, quite the opposite in fact. There could be an argument that some feel in the shadow of the U.S., but that's a different debate altogether.
  6. I call bullish*t
  7. Which manager would that be?
  8. Martinez surely
  9. I've no idea if we should appoint Silva or not, but I do think it's odd to see the number of posters who seem so clued up on his management ability. How many of us watch Hull on a regular basis? When Spurs wanted MP I popped over to their message boards, and the majority of the comments were hilariously off-the-mark (unproven, not a great style of footy etc. etc.) and, even though I didn't want them to take him, it annoyed me that the fans could be so ignorant of how good a manager he actually was. I would wager that any Hull fan reading this thread can empathise with the sentiment. Maybe Silva isn't the right man for the job, maybe Puel won't even be replaced, but let's not pretend we actually have much of a clue of how good Silva is- a lot more goes into management than the 5 mins of highlights we see on a Saturday evening.

    whoooooosh
  16. Good spot. The leak has certainly got the socks spot on!
  17. "New Saints Manager" would work, but some might think it's a thread about Craig Harrison.
  18. Interesting! Was the briefing delivered by the management team or Les?
  19. Not attacking you, but I've seen a couple of posts using style of football against AVB, but none have applied the same logic to FDB. A dutch poster on here claimed he played dull football, and it seems they aren't the only one... https://m.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/4iyiaa/frank_de_boer_leaves_ajaxdays_after_his_agent/ I just don't see how FDB would be a continuation of our style. I can't remember many occasions during the last five years when our play would have been described as dull but effective. I'm not defending AVB particularly, but let's at least apply the same rules to both him and FDB.
  20. Maybe then we'd have players staying long enough for a testimonial, or join the u21 coaching staff after they've retired.
  21. Totally agree. I don't know enough about Russian football, but considering both Emery and Yakin flopped at Spartak Moscow, maybe AVB did a better job at Zenit than he is credited with.
  22. Hey leave him alone, we all have a right to an opinion! Comments like that drag this place down, it was much better in the good old days.
