would someone mind quickly filling me in as to who this guy is?
-
i don't know why, after Barry the Briefcase, Allen et al, I still believe ANYTHING that gets posted on here. Genuinely thought we'd get some news and a press conference.. Underwhelming

I think you'll find that the abuse Phillips received was only because he slated us in his first interview after he left. He said he should never have joined us and that it felt wrong from the start. He didn't thank the fans, even though we idolized him, and said he was glad to have left. He deserves any abuse he gets, criticize the club all you want but to not even thank the fans was disgraceful.

I second you on that. I was sat in the family enclosure at the Burnley game, when he came on he destroyed the left back and put in two decent crosses. He wasn't on for that long but we looked so much more dangerous when we actually had some width. He close control was better than most of the players we have, I think if he was given a bit of coaching he'd be a decent player.

Lowe & Richards in board room on Sunday at Forest....Confirmed by Club
capitalsaint replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
I know this is old news, but i might as well put in my few pennies worth. If rupert is to be hated in such a way, can't we at least be logical about it? Yes, he made a mistake with the dutch setup, yes, he made a mistake with wigley. But please can we remember we also got to the fa cup final, into europe and have a fantastic stadium. I don't love lowe, i accept he is the reason for our downfall, but he shares the blame with plenty others. The players and their half baked performances, managers such as redknapp who made some ridiculous decisions- notably playing ormerod against man u, and the fans who let the club suffer by not turning up. I think to suggest he did any of this with the intent of ruining saints is ridiculous, he is a businessman who wants to make a business successful. End of. I also think the financial mismanagement in his two year absence, while a sore subject, had massive implications to where we are now. As i said, i don't love the guy, but i can see that there were good and bad things about his regime, as with crouch et al. He's put a lot of time into the club, for better or worse, i'd say he probably feel as connected as we do in some way. He was here for years, involved in the day to day management. Lets end the hysteria and move on. -
i'll probably get a bit of stick for this, but we had much better width when ryan smith came on for lallana, he provided a few decent crosses and i thought he was pretty effective... I think he could do a job in league 1.

JPS man of the match today, incredible performance.

I took the train back towards the match and they were on it too, nice lads. Prob nothing but there was also a really old bloke looking at lots of sfc headed papers, he put them away when the lads came on. So i did some investigating on the phone and asked them if they thought he looked like the chap on my screen, they thought it was him. The man? None other than ikea chap! It prob wasn't him, but certainly looked like him... Imho of course.

get out of here! i've been to basingstoke soon, does anybody have a basingstoke story?

anyone mentioned the tie colours yet?

While I'm speaking from a biased position, I felt that Lee Hoos was an extremely honourable and agreeable businessman. He acted with Saints best interests at heart and he was not forced out of the club with Hone etc but stayed on with Leon. It says a lot that the moment Mandaric took over Leicester he immediately hired Hoos, less is made of that than his decision to sign Pearson but I feel it is equally as significant.

i LIKE the fact that he's arrogant. Ferguson, Wenger, whoever you want, they all think they're the brilliant and a great manager has to have confidence in themselves... I know some would argue that he hasn't had any of the success that they have, but everybody starts somewhere. Plus, his comments about positive support giving the players an extra few percent is TRUE. We might not like it, because he was appointed by Lowe and so must be terrible, but I have a hell of a lot more respect for someone who calls it as they see it, even if they are having a go at me. Remember Norwich in the relegation season? That party atmosphere definitely pushed Camara and the boys to win it for us. I'm not that fussed if I get slated for thinking this, and I thought it before today's win, but I think Wotte has more to come than what we are seeing.

before anyone gets the wrong idea and assumes i'm being pro-Lowe, i want to make it clear that it is good people are admitting how bad we are being run behind the scenes... BUT having come into contact with Wiseman in pre-Saints days, i really wouldn't pay much attention to him. Lowe might be pompous, but Wiseman is a terrible businessman.

Isn't it more likely that someone from Southampton would notice the ins and outs of Saint Mary's? Not saying it's wrong or anything, just doesn't add up that a Wolves fan would notice their chairman coming in and out of a stadium in the south... Not keen on Mick either, seems to be a poor man's Glenda in terms of man management.

Saints Playing Monday / New Goalkeeper (Dutch?)
capitalsaint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Despite what views I might have about Lowe etc, I think this is a great idea. It reminds me of the traditional 'family club' that we once were, if only the current board had treated the rest of us with the same level of respect. Just and idea, but what are the chances of the board doing a Wimbledon and turning us into the Jersey Saints? Stranger things have happened... -
Thanks St Landrew!

well done wolves! keep this up!
