Personally I think Lallana is more of a blow then Shaw, and no, losing them doesnt anywhere near confirm we are a feeder club, especially if we recieve large fees. It confirms reality, that we are currently a mid table side without investment that contains some very good young players. As for Poch, I dread losing him, genuinely. But reslistically all three would be very hard to replace with any amount of money.

Mackay is dull as dishwater and largely took Cardiff up due to their financial push TBH. He is solid enough I suppose but a million miles from what we want. As per being one voice in the transfer stakes looking at some of his purchases Im not entirely sure he is what we want, besides, he will have to operate with the comittee that is equally adept at spending exorbitant fees on underperforming foreign strikers. For me, I dont know. AVB (not that I think he would fancy a return to England) Poyet (But he really is a ****) Rosler De Boer (if spurs cant snatch him why would we ?) I dont think Poch will be as easy to replace as most think

Ever thought that the 'apparant' 35m transfer kitty was net inclusive of any transfer income from these sales ?

Benteke is far more realistic then Lukaku and IMHO a better player

Ings is going to Everton and Rhodes is pretty uningspiring. Let alone the fact that neither are that good at LB or AM

Not a fan of Tomkins, smalling showed yesterday how decidedly average he is when compared to Clyne. He is at best a CB playing at RB and TBH a decidedly average one. CBs I think Cahill is the only one that has any real top level quality, jagielka is ok but pretty untested top level. You then dip into the reserves, namely Jones and smalling. Jones is either v good or v bad for me with rarely anything in between. You'll get good odds for one of his classic gurns as he volleys an own goal past Hart. Smalling I dont rate much at all. Stones looks promising, arguably Id have taken him over Lamps. Other then that there is what ? Caulker, Shawcross ? None of which I imagine has Suarez, Cavani or Balotelli having sleepless nights. -

In before this doesnt end well -
I agree

Well then it makes his contribution worse considering that he had a more competant defender behind him.

You see what you want Shurlock, Im not gonna bother argueing. Guly gave us balance more then adam did back then, whether he was returning from injury or not is pretty redundant as at the time he wasnt the best option and I stand by that assessment.
-
Still stick with my opening gambit on here, he simply didnt work back enough back then. Was a fantasyic attacking talent though. He was always very good but looks, fitter, stronger and more confident this year. He really is excellent and Im going to miss him. I must admit though, he was playing infront of Fox

Whilst this is true we arent often much better with constant songs about Pompey. Thought they seemed pretty good, very loud, kept singing, considering the season they've had were in reaonable spirits. We were quiet though IMO

He is more bale then Bridge/pearce etc Quality player, think that he may be gone, real shame, just hope we dig our heels in and get the best price. Around 30m in my book.

I imagine the same as Gazza, clyne, Ramirez, wanyama ?

Swap Welbeck for sturridge as well as your swap, sturridge is in better form but I think Welbeck works harder and so would fit the system of a loan striker much better -
 I genuinely ****ing love you bearsy, if I could buy you a pint I would buy you a pint. Lest we not forget what dunebazzstanmole brought to this forum, not just for a lesson in history but because within atleast 48 short hours he will be back as some other semi-drunken, straight jacket dodging, lawn mower stealing, gem of the mong board elite.

Literally just spoke to him, nice bloke, did well for us in league 1 and champ. Doesnt deserve the **** he gets

At game today, think him and adam are gone

Wilsheres a good player on the ball, intelligent, busy, technically good. It does show the lack of any real quality for England though as he isnt anywhere near World Class IMO, partly due to injury worries. Teams dont tend to play with an actual ball winner these days. Saints do I suppose, but generally you win the ball more through interceptions etc these days rather than tackles. -
I hope so, personally I think if things like that were sorted we wouldnt have MP saying 'ask the board' when questioned about his future in press conferences

My thinking really, the Lampard over Cork grates though, I normally try to be unbiased towards England squads but realistically Cork has played v well there all season, Lampards barely played. Logic to me is to get the guy in playing regularly. Let Cork learn from Gerrard, who else is there ? Gerrard/lamps surely wont make another squad. -

Id of liked to see Stones instead of Lampard personally, well, actually Id rather have seen Cork but dont reckon he had a look in unfortunately -

Smalling and Jones can play there TBF so I thought that would happen Lampard though ? Jesus christ -
It worries me to be honest that we did nothing at all to try to plug the gaps in the squad in january, we had a chance of competing that little bit higher with one or two players. Instead we stuck with what we had. It dissapointed me if Im honest and unfortunately I think it helped to breed unsettlement in the camp. Is there money to spend this year ? Commitment to improve ?
