Well... He was in a gang and had collected a gun which was found at the scene, perhaps they could have brought him down without a kill shot, perhsps they tried ? I find calls of incompetance to be very strong, firearms officers are highly trained and are only issued in cases like this one within which dangers are present. The police have already been clipped by countless PC trials of strong force being used and IMO this indirectly led to the riots escalating. I find it rediculous that the general public want to be protected as much as possible yet arent prepared to accept the methods used. As for the water cannon, I think its an option the forces should have. Personally I believe that if you are prepared to collect a gun or be involved in civil disobedience then you basically need to be prepared for the consequences. The fact that we are discussing this proves how limp wristed we have become as a society.

This, plus the fact that I think Vic seems a lynchpin to the way we play acting as a buffer between Def/Att and also acting as a third CB when we are on the attack and the FBs push forward. Plus Boruc is up there with one of the better GKs in the prem and the deputies are v poor. Im not even going to bother discussing the inadequacies of Jos/Fox

Thomas Hitzlsperger revelas he is gay
Smirking_Saint replied to KelvinsRightGlove's topic in The Lounge
I sort of agree with this. Banter gets a bad press, and yes there are an awefull lot of people that go over the line with it in the name of banter (some of it is pure abuse and should be punished) there is also the other side where the overly PC and prudish live. Examples are those that actively complain about TV shows and radio shows they dont even watch or didnt even hear. Just dont watch it ! Theres a lot I dont agree with, as funny as it probably is I dont agree with the undateables program, many do, I just dont watch it simples. As for the gay debate, we should live in a society now within which it is accepted and there isnt a need to have a front page splash everytime it happens. Its not news ! -

I think this is pretty much crap, Im certainly glad that we gave him time, I agree now unless he involves some real work ethic to his obvious skill and quickly then he will have to go but if it were any of the kneejerkers on here he would have been gone after a month. As per MoPo, itll be a real shame if he gors as clearly he is a talented coach, yes a few tweaks are needed but he seems like he is out of the pep school of studious and tactically able coaches. Nobody knows whats going on behind the scenes, Id suggest if there is any talk of leaving it could be to force replacements (as if that wasnt obvious that we need them) of course he could also generally think he cant deliver whats expected ?! -
Sounds a good deal but too small for me and I use pure gyms set anyways You do PT or just sell equipment ?

Doesnt he have family this way ?!

Nice highlights video, plus not sure Samaras is our answer upftont as its obviously Rhodes

Vertonghan is far too good, either of the manchester sides should be looking at him. Id go for agger though.

Well ok, he has only recently come back then. Though I agree he would be a good signing he would also be expensive, high wages and we could do with a CB that can play LB if he had to. Thats all IMO anyway

He's injured

Shaw wont go this year, I wouldnt mind talking to them about De Bruyne though, good little hard working player him.
-
This, slow to get down and crap at his near post. How the hell did Ings score ?!?!? A decent young up and coming keeper is needed.
-
Id of taken Hooper, still think that Ossie will be ok. We seem to have an issue creating, we need to take more chsnces instead of overdoing the keep ball.
-
We havent got the players for possession football yet, perhaps in the future but not yet, we will play the way that we have been playing. Plenty of industry but not enough movement off the ball or technical ability. Things will hopefully change moving forward, but not in time for this WC. Agreed its not the way forward, but its our only direction right now.

Crunch Time And Something Has To Change
Smirking_Saint replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
I half agree with your sentiments Alps, for me Ramirez is a player with incredible ability but I cant disagree he just doesnt fit the system. For the pressing system to work you need everyone working hard, he simply doesnt. Ossie was required though, we simply needed a new striker and I find it a little unnerving that he is being written off already. How anyone decided that we didnt need a new keeper though is beyond me, Boruc is obviously no 1 but his deputies are woefull. Other than that you can understand the reasons for having a smallish squad, our advancement has been too rapid, you add quality by spending money, building a squad takes time. -

Crunch Time And Something Has To Change

Probably. Such is the hypocrisy of some of our more special fans. Windows, no its not the video, they are both woefully inadequate for this level, atleast Kelvin has half an excuse due to age -
Well, yeah, probably the wrong choice of words but should he become available and being aware of our issues at the back Id be inclined to make an offer.
-
The more I think about it the more a loan CB like Lescott would make sense. Ok, itll be costly but for the short term (till end of season) we will have a decent CB available for cover. This allows us to work on potential signings that will probably be easier to finalise at the end of the season.

Im with Fry with this one, if that really was said I imagine that even PGMOL would have had difficulty defending it let alone the fact that the press would have been all over it. If it was said, fair enough I can see why an accusation would be made by the club but just like when he reportedly called Mikel a 'Monkey' I just dont buy it.
