  1. I'd go and explain to Adkins that the diamond just doesn't work.
  2. I thought it was pretty good, but have been looking forward to it for a long time now.
  3. (not a personal attack before you jump on it) Puncheon is rated by many people on here whose footballing opinions I often agree with and respect. He is a good winger, direct, creative and reads the game well. Early in the season we had such poor movement infront of us there was little he could do, often moving up the wing and then having no real options infront of him. He also doesn't play well as an inside forward, Lallana does, but he doesn't, some wingers do and some don't. IMHO Puncheon will go on and play at a higher level than Antonio does, I honestly see Antonio perhaps forging a career at league one or lower championship level. But no more, he is just too inconsistant and technically not good enough. Puncheon however will probably end up as a solid Champ player. And yes, rating a player is more than just looking at stats, which is why I tend to go on observation, you are however are obviously a 'stat man' which is why i find it strange that you are argueing against them, Guly is a good player, occasionally looks lost but then he is not a wide midfielder and not really a striker !! Nevertheless he puts in a great shift, is possibly one of the most technical players in the league and has scored some very vital goals. Personally I like him and what he brings to the team which is creating space and chances.
  4. Yeah I went to the JPT, I also saw him quite a few times in the season aswell, I agree he had a half decent JPT final by all accounts but one swallow doesn't make a relationship and I would argue he was far from consistant through the season. Now talking of Puncheon, this is no doubt the jason puncheon that is quite regularly getting games for a premier league side and who has also made such an impression on Championship Millwall that they were clamouring to have him back ? Also, regarding your criticism of our opinion I would argue that with all respect how were we suposed to know that he was going to turn into a class A bellend ?? Perhaps that was something you identified with before and so fair play for getting your obviosly qualified opinion in so very soon. I still struggle to see how you are defending your arguement considering the stats that have been put in front of you, considering of course that you are a stat man ? But then perhaps that is why you have changed your line of questioning and are now going down the character assassination route, I don't know.
  5. I thought foot was the next big thing ??
  6. I expect MLG will let us all know soon
  7. I thought that lol
  8. What about Lloyd Foot ? The centre half (holder spooner or hogan wallace or something) and Jake sinclair ? Those three have been talked about as being the next big thing ? are they too young still ? Anyway, great great news IMO
  9. Unfortunately he has become used to a gravy train that is no longer free. Thats the part many find sad I am afraid
  10. I usually agree with most of what Chez says anyways, but yeah I agree again that really and truelly we can't have two ball playing CB's, we need a decent, ugly, solid no nonsense man. As for Martin I just don't know, Adkins must rate him, and Martin is happy enough by all accounts. After all we declined a bid from West Ham. I just don't think he is thatugly stopper we need at the moment, although ultimately I think he is better than Seaborne.
  11. Oh look you lost another arguement and are now changing your original one to try and bend it around your agenda, strange that. Besides, I said at the start of the season we should worry about our lack of cover upfront more than anything else, Guly did well to assess these fears but is not an out an out striker. Its a shame, I don't doubt that we attempted to get someone in, and it must have been difficult convincing someone of the required ability they MAY be playing second fiddle to Lambert and Barnard. I just worry about Connolly, it is IMO just a matter of minutes until he is injured again and I worry about his impact, don't get me wrong, he was great at the weekend but then absolutely dire against Plymouth earlier in the season.
  12. If we had Beattie back I am afraid he will be shown up to be the lacking player he was even back then. Besides, we have Lambert already and we are hardly playing to his strengths by smashing balls into the box. There is a reason Beatts was kak at Everton, Rangers and Blackpool in the fact that he needs other players to work FOR him and have balls into the box constantly. IMO anyways
  13. They say it takes around 2-4 weeks however when i sent off for a new one as I had lost the old one (although later found it !!! ) it came back within a few days.
  14. IMO he has already gone. FWIW, and it is only IMO i admire your optimism MLG, but in reality, Cortese can only bat away so many offers and put up so much of a defence, until that time that Chambo turns around and says enough is enough (if he hasn't already) Great player, top top potential (yes he IS better than the technically lacking Walcott) but unfortunately he came through at the wrong time a la Walcott and Bale.
  15. Either a massive chinese takeaway. Starters - Prawn toast, Barbecue Ribs, Crispy Duck, Prawn Wontons, Satay chicken. Mains - Honey Roast Pork, Catonese Roast Duck, Beef in Black bean sauce, Sweet and sour chicken, Lamb Chinese Curry. Or Garlic, Rosemary and Red Wine Lamb, roast spuds, honey glazed parsnips, cauliflower puree, asparagus, Broccoli, Yorkies, pigs in blankets, sage and cranberry stuffing. Both followed with an Eton Mess and a few Jonnie Walker Blue labels on the rocks.
  16. NanaNAAIIII
  17. Unfortunately we have managed to find injuries and players off form at exactly the wrong time !!!
  18. Naughton won't be, not with Walker having such a great season as well at Villa, they are a little blessed with RB's at the moment. Signing players that have been relegated is not so much a bad thing as long as you can keep a balance in so much that you don't populate the team with them. Besides, hopefully IF we get promoted that would help to instill a new optimism, aswell as Adkins guidance.
  19. Nick Montgomery. Darius Henderson or Billy Sharp. Bradley Orr ?? Eardley ?? Jordan Spence ? Perhaps Ian Evatt ? CB ?
  20. Two similar IMO Look at every good defensive pairing and you will have an out and out ball winner and an intelligent ball playing centre half. Ferdinand & Vidic, Terry & Carvalho, Jaidi & Fonte. We need a like for like IMO. As i said previous. Morgan and Darren Moore were both ugly players but very effective defensively for their respected sides.
  21. I don't know exactly who, part of me is saying Middlesborough and the other is saying WBA, not sure who though. Edit - West Brom
  22. Surely not. Surely he has learnt his lesson by now ??
  23. Davis Richardson Jaidi Fonte Dickson Chaplow Stephens Hammond Lallana Guly Lambert Swap Lallana for N'Guessan if necessary.
