  1. Possibly, but i aswell as you i suspect would not be happy if we needed to play chambo, lallana or guly in the middle for any extended length of time. I suppose Butters could do a job in the centre but only in a sureing up sense as i suspect he isn't technically good enough to perform there. Its still a bit of a shame that there is nobody there, but then, we do have 2 CM's injured/banned so i can't moan too much.
  2. Hard not to be happy with that really, shame that we don't have a recognised central midfielder on the bench though, IMO its a bit of a damning indicament of the reserves and youth squads.
  3. TBF Saint_Lard you have always had serious questions about the management ever since you were sacked.
  4. Thats the thing, and probably what annoyed me so much. It wasn't that i was tiring or that i was out of breath but purely that my left leg just hasn't the quads my right has, at one point it felt as though the muscles had given up and the knee was going to give way (to all you ACL recons our there not the same feeling). Thats what i need to work on, I know that I will need to build up slowly which is why I went for only around 3 miles, and was running 5 MPH. My problem is I don't know for how long my knee will hold me back. Thanks for the reply though.
  5. Basically S_C, if we lose any of our remaining games it is firmly at the fault of Adkins and the fact that the players are not up for the fight etc etc etc
  6. No it isn't the consensus Alps, its just the majority don't go into meltdown if we drop points at any part of the season. None of us are saying, oh, don't worry about tonight take a game off. We are just saying that it takes the pressure off of us a little, which if anything is a good thing. For me, absolutely nothing has changed, 6 points from the next 3 games is what is needed and anything else is a massive massive bonus. Tonight is a big game, but it is no longer out of desperation but because it puts us firmly in the driving seat, and yes there is a difference.
  7. I have always thought we would benefit a lot more from a different CM to Hammond, i suppose he does a job for now, and i cannot fault his effort and heart, I do however believe that if we were to be promoted we would definately need a new CM next year to play alongside Morgan. That said, I am more than happy with Chappers in the side.
  8. Your not allowed an Ipod ??? Why ??? Done a run today, aimed for 3 Miles but only managed about 2.5, not really because I was tired but because my left leg just couldn't take any more, this is going to be a problem i think. I wondered if any runners out there could give me a bit of advice. My left knee is the one that i have been operated on, it ached a little whilst running and i could feel i had a slight limp, the main reason though i believe was not the knee itself but more the fact that the muscle in my left leg has so much more atrophy then the right. Towards the end it began to really tire and felt asthough it was just going to give up. Basically, am i going to be able to just run through it to build it up and sort of how long does it take to build ?? I am doing muscle work along with it aswell.
  9. Indeed, and as impressive (within reason) that Hammond has been so far I still don't believe he is good enough for what Adkins is trying to do with us at the moment. IMO he is too slow and technically is just not strong enough.
  10. How long until the usual, he is overated spiel is bandied about. IMO we will seriously miss him between now and the end of the season.
  11. For me they never really updated their image, and never give any sort of joining offers. If they start doing that I may become interested.
  12. LOL Fair play Could have called it the drawing room i suppose
  13. Swings and roundabouts in regards to psychology really, yes i see your point. If we can capitalise on Posh's mistake then of course it makes the rest of the league to look at us with dread. I have been thinking for a little while now 'are Brighton/P'Boro ever going to drop points' and luckily for us one of them did last night. I thoroughly agree we need to instill that thought in the other teams heads. Another way to look at it however is there will now be a slight relief in the camp that may actually release us to play better football tonight, before hand they would have been going out thinking we have to win in order to keep up, but now they can think we have to win to put the pressure on. And as a player on the pitch that is a massive massive difference. As for Brighton, i gave up on them ages ago, I predicted back when we lost to Tranmere that it was the day we had conceded the league. And they have rumbled on and rumbled on since, there is no way that we will come 1st now. And Alps, please give it up mate, your crap about how loud our inadequacies are is just a non existant arguement, we have been a real powerhouse under Adkins, generally speaking we have done a good job, a few dropped points here and there but then look at the points we have picked up !
  14. Changed from working as an IT technician that moved into quality control (though was mainly office based) and moved into what i do now working in electrical distribution as an (almost) 11kV Senior Authorised Person/Project manager. Loving the new job and it has opened so many doors, crazy how many different directions I can go now that I am qualified and its great as I move from office to site visits when i see fit and within reason i manage my own time as long as my paperwork etc is all in order and the staff don't need sorting (they are pretty good at sorting themselves out). Basically means if the weather is drab i stay in and catch up and days like yesterday and today i get out and about. I would hate to move back into an office and f*cking can't stand IT any more.
  15. No Ifs, No Buts and No English GCSE. Sorry Ben i couldn't resist. A win tommorow would be absolutely brilliant, but i don't get this whole, win tommorow and we will be second malarky, it matters not were we are when we still have games in hand etc. It matters at the end of the season when we are all equal. If anything it takes a little bit of pressure off, which, IMO will help us perform better tommorow. COYR
  16. Osti, whether or not SaintScott was being a bit of a bellend, or whether or not your mate is a bit handy or not, smacking someone on the blindside is a bit c*ntish. It isn't big, it certainly doesn't make you handy, it just makes you a mincing, mankey bottler c*nt. Either way, we are all supposed to be Saints fans, and unfortunately you are just helping to extend the image that the Northam is turning to sh*t. Take that from someone that sat there for ages aswell.
  17. Forgot about the 11 days off, we will desperately need that as it is going to be a really really tough run in. I imagine that we have the squad to cope, our squad is IMO much stronger than the majority of the rest of league 1. Shame we havn't got Morgan tommorow as i feel his passing range would have really torn apart the charlton side, especially if as Lambden has said it is a wide and footballing pitch. COYR's We could be well in the driving seat after tommorow night.
  18. TBF Austin had about 67 by all accounts.
  19. I always welcome some sensible contribution to the board from other fans and even a little banter, unfortunately some of the morons on the forum can't see banter for banter and smash the granny out of the report button as soon as anyone speaks out of turn or is not serious enough.
  20. IMO it actually takes the pressure off a little, although we could really make some ground between us it has turned from a must win into a bloody great win if we do it.
  21. What a f*cking great result !!! Although it means the next 3 matches are now absolutely massive for us in respect to the fact that we could create some ground between us now it is also worth noting that it also takes a little bit of pressure off. COYR its all starting to fall into place. Although the Posh once again showed a real commited forward play today.
  22. How the f*ck have the posh not scored yet ? Must admit, the posh really are a joy to watch and the result we got against them, IMO was a good one.
  23. (welcome back btw) How do you know we havn't had any offers ?? Personally, he is our best CM by a long way, his touch, his ability on the ball, his passing range but more importantly his range is far better then the players around him most of the time. Some of the balls he plays to the wide players is....at times....sublime.
  24. Glad there are others on here that see the lads talent and can recognise it.
