  1. She looks like a white Drogba
  2. Yeah, fair point, would have been a good idea though, we will never fill a game like this. £12 is a bit steep, and £15 on the day is f*cking verticle.
  3. Umm ??? Reading Vs Saints thread ?? We have sort of gone off topic here. Not a bad game really to sink our teeth into, TBF, they are a decent football playing side and have gelled well in the second half of the season. Would be a pretty good test IMO. Agree though, £12 is a bit pricey and i agree, early bird ST's should get friendlies free
  4. A player that has done reletively f*ck all since he left us ?? We don't play his type of football anymore, Lambert is younger, puts in more effort, has far far better first touch. Beatts would struggle to get into the team ahead of him IMO, we definately don't need to pay a past it one time wonder mega bucks, and i certainly don't want to see the arrogant c*nt hanging around my bars any time soon. TBH i think we are pretty much ok for strikers, and next year would like us to play 4-5-1 anyways.
  5. Yeah she is pretty awesome tbf
  6. Would love to see someone like Hooper or Maynard. We desperately need a midfielder, siggy at reading ??
  7. HVDC is very very expensive however, and needs very very large end stations in order to effectively convert them from AC/DC and visa versa, also there are issues in protection. Interestingly also, your brain does not respond to DC voltage, so basically if you are in contact to it, you will not know until you begin to get warm. Scary As far as having bulk generation at massives distances from demand centres it causes it own issues. One of the advantages of wind power is that you could apply it close to the location of the demand.
  8. Thank you for that, was something i wasn not aware about. Traditionally what many people fail to realise is although actually building the wind farms are 'relatively' carbon free the actual cost of reinforcing the network etc was always a large cost. I do believe there is a need for wind energy, but i am not convinced at the moment. Worryingly i have been reading reports that we will be importing 80% of our energy requirements by 2020.
  9. Fantastic statement, perhaps all those short sighted fans quick to form an opinion will be eating their words ?
  10. Clearly you both do not understand what i am trying to portray here, Buctoo also it is not just a research project but operational experience. I also apologise to Topgun as i thought he was saying that wind power could power the most of the UK, if, like you said above it is just to produce 20% etc of the UK's total energy demand, any more would be rediculous. As a technology however is still do not think it is as 'carbon neutral' as is being made out, added to the overall efficiency and power quality issues it creates, along with its small lifespan i believe that advances still need to be made here in order to make it the 'viable' solution so many believe it to be. I also can see you don't understand what reactive power is, or how it effects a network.
  11. So the danny bloke with the robot avatar ??? Another daily fail journo that we all know works for a paper whose relationship with saints and so NC is over ???
  12. I think you find you are wrong, MLG is the SI FM guru and so has more knowledge than god himself. If he has spoken it must be true
  13. Indeed can we have names of those on the list ??
  14. And you got this from where ??
  15. Spoken from a man that has a job in PR and is a stakeholder within a wind turbine technology company i am not at all surprised that you have disregarded my arguement. I understand the need for some Wind turbine technology to help bridge some of the gap that is needed and helps go towards the targets set by the government however to say that it could single handedly power the UK is deluded and unneducated. Another point is that wind farms connect mainly to the 33kV network and so will not be going through 275kV and 400kV cables either, unless you are talking about large offshore windfarms, from which underwater cabling has its own issues. From your arguement about reactive power also i feel you need to do a little more research, it's just wrong, reactive power is useless power no matter how you look at it.
  16. Ok, here we go, being an engineer and so seeing the effect that these crappy things do to the network. I do not have preconceptions, however was asked to produce a report as part of my degree and so had to do a fair bit of research, this added to talking to industry experts etc etc. The problem with wind power comes in many stages, one is that they are not at all reliable, saying that we can have a whole country powered by wind is just nonsense, you cannot predict the wind speeds will be within the turbines 'limited' power producing range at all times. Also, wind turbines create a large amount of reactive power, reactive power is essentially useless, and actually causes there to be more volt drop/I2R losses along a line. This 'power' needs to be compensated to result in a more efficient system. The way the government gives incentives is also on a turn key basis, most companies will come in and build a wind farm and then hand the keys over to the DNO's to run them, the problem is these wind farms are put up quickly, often with CE products that are legal to use however in many cases do not meet ENA requirements, dor this reason they brake down easily and actually have caused many problems, some of which are going through the courts due to injury to operatives. Wind farms currently only have a 20 year running time, they will have to be replaced after that, most fossil fuel technology can last 50-60 years or more. Finally, we come to the fact that they are inefficient, i take Baj's arguement that nuclear stations probably only harness 1% of a isotopes energy, i cannot argue this either way as i just don't know, however a 5MW station will produce on average somewhere near 5MW's. In comparisson a wind turbine rated to 2MW's will produce, on average 800kW, that is less than half !!!!!!!!
  17. What reports are they then ?? I see no mention of Marcus ?? Although, i did think all along this would be the more likely reason over the panicing going on in this board atm.
  18. Was a good game really, KP was on fire before he tried another showpiece shot (as per usual) He is such a fantastic cricketer to watch when on form, he just seems to know exactly what he wants to do and where the bowler is going to bowl. I dread to think how much we would have trounced them if he stayed in bat !! Well done Swann and Sidebottom too !!
  19. As much as the man talks utter carp, and seems to pretty much over dramatise the little agreements he does come to, you can't deny that there must be some sort of agreement, no matter how small that he is talking about ?? If the PL are really helping PFC it will be a f*cking joke, they have already sought to gain an advantage over the other PL clubs, and IMO when the PL removed the transfer embargo and they continued to buy players the PL should have come down hard on them. You have to agree to Ginge though (for once) you get the impression that the PL have papered over the cracks and pushed this horrible little club to the finish line, they will they turn around and deny all responsibility. The FL won't be so forgiving.
  20. TBF, Dawson has been immense this year ANS
