I would imagine that the only way that Pardew would be going is in the shape of a manager that ML/NC believed could do a better job overall. Or that he himself has said quietly that he cannot be arsed with NC etc. Personally i think they would be mad to sack pardew after he has set up a well oiled machine ready for next year, but for people not to realise that NC/ML must be pretty p*ssed off after Pardew convinced them to spend more in january is just as rediculous.

TBF, that is a pretty well written and valid response to my original post. Wind/solar energy generation however will never and can never be completely relied upon to meet the energy demand at all times. There will still be a definate need for a base load production and a viable reserve (which i would imagine would be gas) in order to meet the occasional peaks that occur. Wind farms are non polluting etc but do not work 100% of the time and indeed only produce electricity under certain wind conditions, and it is a very small window of wind speed. You then need to factor in the fact that they do not produce clean power and so the network needs to, generally, be reinforced to deal with what it feeds into it, they are not as carbon neutral than is made out. As for the nuclear row, yes, it is true that they are not going to be running by 2025 at the earliest, i just think that the governments own targets are pie in the sky, the peak load is growing and with the invention of the new technologies will grow only further still, if the government are to close many of the fossil fuel plants by 2020 ?? I think ?? Then we will be 5 years from a valid solution and under generating, meaning we will be reliant on Europe etc. As for Supermikeys comment on the wind turbine at Madejski, i believe it was built as part of the permission to build the industrial park there and i think when in operation is able to power the majority of it. However, i think they turn it on when it is not generating (and so use power) in order to appease the locals into believing it is actually doing more than it does. Coincidentaly the new small 'windmills' in Millbrook dock gate 20 do sod all, i believe they produce about 2KVA, which is pretty much enough to power a few kettles.

This is true, it is crazy that the government has not started an initiative on this issue. If say all large build plots were built with the inclusion of solar panels purely for the heating of water it could help cut energy requirements and also help the government meet renewable energy targets. I agree with the Wind farms and perhaps tidal generation but you need a more stable base load generation, at the moment we have this in the form of coal, but nuclear will meet this requirement. Gas stations are pretty good to use as a reserve, as is the station in wales that pumps water up the hill and then drops it down in times of need, i forget the name now though.

I work within the energy industry and anyone that believes that solar panels and wind farms are the future are sadly deluded IMO (and through the education and studies i have done over the past few years) Nuclear power is teh way forward, a very small carbon footprint and overall negative affect on the environment (apart from the small, and VERY small amout of nuclear waste produced) Solar is the worst efficient of the renewables and wind literally is around 26% efficient as a means of producing energy. The way that the french produce energy (nuclear) is the way forward, most of our power stations are to be mothballed and so put out of service within the next few years. Add to this the new energy dependant technologies that include heat pumps, Air con and electric car charging stations our energy network will be massively over loaded and so more energy will be 'brought' from France and the new connections being built to Scandanavia and Ireland. Beware the proposed Green revolution, it is not any where near as Carbon efficient as it makes out.

Lol at everyone on here getting their prejudice about saggy face getting in the way of saggy face's accomplishments. Roy has done very well in the Euro's however it is essentially a cup comp and not a league format that awards for overall form over a long period, at the end of the day Millwall got to the FA cup final............and portsmouth............ Be honest, like i said earlier, the main four (liverpool, Manure, Chelsea & Arse) have been unbeatable in the chumps league stakes forever and so saggy's achievment cannot be overlooked. Again, Saints apart, saggy is a fantastic man manager and if i was to name a single 'english' manager to take on the national team he would be my top choice, get over the saints pompey prejudice and see him for what he has done. That is a fantastic job, if mancini had got there, i am sure he would have won it however he has not, Totenham where almost relegated when he took over, man up and accept the work he has done, i hate the saggy faced c*nt and supported City Wed but he has done a good job, accept it and move on.

Must have had a lack of humoursome text's in then, that is f*cking bad.

Schneiderlin, for the pure reason that he has had such an impact this season. Lallana deserves a very credible mention, however the way i have seen it this season is the team performance borders around Schneiderlins inclusion and form. For that reason, he is my runner up. The one gear i fear we can't afford to lose.

I don't think we will have much issue with leeds next year TBH, another season in league one would probably see the big players leaving and a cheeky bid for beckford wouldn't go a miss (or Bechio). I also f*cking hate those arrogant c*nts so am hoping Millwall or Swindon go up.

But not really set the PL a light, tbf, if Mancini got Man City in the champions league he would have won it. The top four spots have been so dominated by the normal crowd for years.

Perhaps thrashing a child is a bit barbaric tbh, however the fact is there that real issue with the lack of discipline that teachers can administer these days. I was still shouted at etc at school and most of us understood that if we did something wrong we would be punished. These days however there are so many issues kids can bring up to argue they should not have been disciplined its rediculous. Finally headteachers should be given the right of there choice goes, i seem to remember a troublesome kid that assaulted a teacher being expelled and on appeal being let back in. My personal opinion ?? (and i am in no way commenting on yours personally) Is that teaching standards, or at least the educating gradings have dropped. Kids that are not academic should also be able to swap GCSE's (which are uselessly outdated) for the beginning of apprenticships in years 10/11. -

Yup, they brought us out of the frying pan and then flung us firmly into the fire. Destroying our economy and causing us to be one of the last countries to come out of this recession and also causing us to have pretty much our worst recession in history and start to push our own policy making into the hands of Europe. Will the tories have some big big issues if they remain in power for 10 years or so ?? Of course they will, its what happens, but Britain needed a change and hopefully brown is gone now. Will Britain need another change in 10 or so years ?? I expect so, but i welcome this one. -

Lol at the greatest fans in the world. What do you reckon we took overall ?? Including the majority of Wembley Corperate tickets ?? almost 50k ?? More ?? Crazy really, i know they are not filling the ground but i honestly thought they would easily sell out their wembley allocation.

Thought it could be a good thread just to look at everyones thoughts about how we did, favourite players etc etc. And a good view of how they actually rated this seasons performance and why ?? Like they do in the papers in the school type way. Just want to gauge everyones opinions and hoping that this thread doesn't descend in everyone slating each other opinions. Let me do mine and you might get what i mean. My Review - Good first season in league one but could definately do better. The pre season definately did not help us but i think we had a better squad then to go the first 10 games with only 1 win. Pardew managed to steady the ship and built a team capable of beating any team in the division and looking good going about it, shame he experimented so much with the formation as IMO 4-5-1 was working very well. Wembley was a fantastic day out and good to see us getting some silverwear however minor it actually is. The final games leading up to the end of the season chasing the playoffs but a dull spell over Xmas probably kept us out of it. Signings - Very good signings for this league which have built us, on our day as very very good challengers. Rickie and Fonte where obviously inspired and are phenominal. Was disapointed that Pardew did not sign another CM in january perm or after on loan however, we look weak here. Special mention to Lallana/Schneiderlin that have really raised it this year and have been stood as tall as rickie in the player of the season stakes, IMO. Overall - B (great attempt, very exciting but could have done better)
-
I would argue that we have spent more money than any of those 14 cases mentioned. And yes, money is a degree of success, that is why generally the teams that have money and spend on better players will sit in higher league tables. Money doesn't buy success ?? except in the obvious cases of Chelsea and Blackburn ?? Money does buy success, not always but eventually. Totenham have spent crap loads of cash and TBH city are not a million miles away and a win Wednesday will put them in Europe all but. We have had a good season, but in all honesty, it could have been better.
-
Exactly this, We gave too many points away, lost too many leads and failed to overcome too many teams that sat back. Its a shame, it was a good season and a good attempt but good was never going to cut it this year and no matter what we had a chance that we didn't take. Still, NC would be mad to sack AP, next season, we should tear this league apart.

Indeed, and one which paid out when i bet on us not qualifying under him
