He took over in September last year and we've lost just ONE league game at home since then. Our record since he's arrived is terrific and I rate him so highly because of the professional way he goes about everything. When he comments on studying previous games and the next opposition, you just know he's done it impeccably. Not afraid to shake it up tactically either and the signings have been sensible. He's probably not as open as we'd like him to be in interviews but I can't remember being this optimistic as a Saints fan for a long, long time - if ever. Even under Pardew I was always a bit unsure. Bring on what should be a very enjoyable season with a great squad and management from the boardroom down!

Who does everyone want? Pompey?....Oh. Are we seeded? Arsenal, Birmingham City, Chelsea, Fulham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Stoke City do not enter the competition until the third round stage due to their European involvement. Ties are scheduled for the week commencing August 22.

WTF was up with Lonergan too? Ran over like a d.ck and got himself booked when Fonte landed awkwardly on his neck/head. -
I think the Ref just couldn't put up with that cheating, whining little sh*t Gradel in his ear any longer so gave it. Looked a handball in real time but not on the replays.

Anyone actually wondered that he might be the featured interview inside, so, like every home programme, the feature is on the front? Someone coming on here without seeing the cover would think that he's holding up a burning Saints shirt and laughing judging by certain reactions. Some users on here are probably delighted at this, now they have a reason to criticise further. It'll be 'bring back Lowe' next. Jesus f*cking christ.

No wonder he couldn't keep the ball, having to pass it from that distance!

Apparently Forecast told some kids behind the goal to f*ck off. They're about 9. Tells you all you need to know about him basically.

Conflicting reports on Jemal... Tunisian press saying he's close to signing: (August 1st) http://www.kooora.com/?n=119490 ""Confirmed defender Tunisian Ammar Jamal professional club Young Boys, that is currently in England for the recent talks about the process of moving to a club of Southampton, who won climb to the second division of the English Leagues. The subject in connection with talks he held on Monday, a medical is expected to continue negotiations with the English club may be signing the contract in the next few hours" And French media saying he's been rejected a work permit: http://stadebrestois29.fr/la-piste-ammar-jemal-relancee (August 2nd) "A few weeks ago, the Tunisian Young Boys Bern, Ammar Jemal, was again approached. The player must engage with Southampton (D2 English), but obviously he can not get his residence permit, the player could then fall back to Brest above Guyot announced today that in Ouest-France new defender could sign today or tomorrow." Not sure what the last bit of that means though

So what did happen to Fred?

Jemal's been called up to the Tunisia squad to play Mali in a friendly on 10th August, so he'd probably feature against Leeds but not Torquay, or potentially Barnsley? I'm not sure how it works for releasing players to play in friendly games, whether we have to or not?

QPR make Saints an offer for Puncheon (Player Exchange)
Saint_lambden replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Always played well at QPR and in return for Puncheon - would be a great deal. -
Adkins dodged the question on Jemal on Saints Player.
-
Adkins (around all the cliches) said we want to keep Chamberlain - no point in investing heavily in the youth system otherwise. Chaplow talked about his fit missus and Butterfeild's doing a skydive, then that Cork and de Ridder were needed because of 'losing Oscar Gobern' and 'Puncheon not being involved'
-
Wait and see how he performs and acts on the pitch first before jumping to any conclusions. If he plays at the level he was the 2nd half of last season and the season before, we'll just have to assume all is well. Adkins didn't dodge the question yesterday on him. Only possible reason (although it sounds stupid) is that they knew Lambert wouldn't be playing in the away kit yesterday because of his injury and it made more commercial sense to leave him out? Unlikely I know.

Would prefer a loan deal with the option to buy.

Held the ball up well, shone through in the poor second team.
