Correct on both counts but the practice is very prevalent. The Polish people at the hospital bounce back and forth between languages in mixed company. It's obviously disconcerting for those who may be prone to paranoia and I do wonder what a group of English people would do if they worked abroad in a non English speaking environment. (See my PM) Nice one!

If you are going through an umberella company then you are entitled to S.S.P. after the initial qualifying period. If you are paid via an agency on a limited basis (you get a bit more per hour) then you have to sort holiday pay yourself. That is to put a little away each week to cover your days off. For the first two years you should also be able to claim various expenses against your tax. Such a mileage allowance, subsistence etc. However after two years working at the same place, despite having maybe numerous contracts, change of job title etc HMRC remove that tax incentive and view you as a permanent employee. It's hard to explain this but I have just started contracting and I am doing so through an Umberella Company. Hope that this helps. Just remember though that the company can basically drop you at a moment's notice.

Indeed, as they say in the Motor Industry, a million baby steps. Keep up that sterling work Tim.

I think you're right Wiltshire. In fact you have now proven, beyond all doubt to me, that you are below insult. Not for your choice of who you would save as there is a fair reason in any choice. It's the mere fact that you could eradicate the memory of a child by the procreation of another child. Ask any parents who have lost a child and then have had another. Yes, the birth of the new child may strengthen their relationship but I reckon that child would never replace the lost child.

A fair warning to not vote BNP there, TBF. -
I remember that day only too well, my first visit to Liverpool. All the 'Old Boys' (crumbs, I'm an 'old boy ' now!) deathly silent, glued to their transistor radios. Then the tears fell, silent at first but then with a few sniffles. Then out came the hip flasks to stifle the tears. We stopped somewhere near Oxford and those old boys went and got royally p!55ed.

Certainly big Ron was playing..err....elsewhere. But we forgive him . having left for them in July '73. Jimmy left in July '72 for Bompey. All stats courtesy of Duncan Holley/Gary Chalk - In That Number.

If I remember rightly, while we were winning 3 - 0 at Everton we were waiting on whether Birmingham won? If they had only drawn then they would have dropped instead of us. And Birmingham's last game? Norwich! http://www.statto.com/football/stats/results/1974-04-27
