Not fear of success for me, more like a trepidation? I don't want us to go too far too soon but would relish the gradual build up of the team for the PL. It's difficult to make my point without sounding harsh on our current squad but, inevitably, we may have to lose some for us to stabilise in the PL. Having said that there are players that many felt would not step up to the Championship standard who clearly have done so. Can NA do it again, in the PL, with the same squad? That's the bugbear for me. I don't think we have enough depth, currently, at academy level (admirable though the members are) to enable us to stand alone and not spend. Having been close to extinction neither do I want us splashing massive amounts and attracting players who will not buy into NA's squad philosophy. I feel very comfortable in the Championship and I don't want us having to struggle against relegation from the PL every season, not a lack of ambition on my part but the trepidation at work. Neither do I want us having all the hassle involved being on the fringe of the top 6 in the PL BUT I do want Saints to succeed. Sword of Damocles really for me, hence the concerns. All said, I'll go with the flow because I love my team.

Rooney's dad to make a killing at the bookies on his son's red card?

Agreed, a bright innovator. RIP SJ.....typed from my Windows PC

Sadly he can't. No off road parking means he needs insurance in case some eedjit totals him. Also he could, possibly, be prosecuted for keeping a vehicle on the road with no insurance? Putting my cynical cap on now, with regard to all the legal letters etc. I just wonder if they will fold the business and restart under another name?

= £100k/wk. Attendance of 16k (let's round things up here) ALL PAYING, what? £26? (Forget STs) = £416k/ 2 wks. =£208k/wk. So they have £108k/wk to pay the rest of the staff, N.I., tax, VAT (shhhh!) Gas, Electric, Rates, Water. A bit for profit. How will the CVA be paid? parachute money? Is there a big wedge due for sponsorship from Gob****e? It really doesn't stack up.

I don't think he's got the Vim for the job.

There is also an Otter sanctuary in Buckfastleigh: http://www.ottersandbutterflies.co.uk/ Spent many an interesting visit there, also the Steam Railway.

Remembering, of course, that he was a goalkeeper!

I admit I laughed at Sid's riposte but was it tongue in cheek as it looks quite serious?

I don't think people are in any way thinking that the 'global cabal' of football is in hock to your club's wrongdoings. However, by the generally accepted thoughts that football is corrupt right to the very top, what they don't want is any chance of someone prising open the pandora's box that is football today. Your club, among others, present such an opportunity and where possible the top dogs in football will try to prevent that happening. Which is why I feel Lampitt was 'parachuted in', to keep a lid on things and hopefully ensure correct procedures were observed thereon in.

Just hanging around but I saw what you did there!

My one season in five scenario, like a lot of your utterances, came straight from the top of my head. It is as much a likelihood as any other considering your club (and it's various agents, administrators etc) actions of the last 14 years. As to the one fan I quoted I mentioned that he would be happy with anything, anything, which would bring glory to the club. That obviously includes legal, above board moves, as well as shafting local businesses and charities. Here's to another day of fun. Let's see if you could go a whole week without referring to us Scummers as effing morons while you batter your keyboard in anger.

Miliband to propose overhaul of social housing allocation policy

With talk on this thread of Unions owning Labour and Big Business owning the Tories. Maybe this has a relevance? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqN3amj6AcE&sns=em Kind of fits in, in a worrying way. -
Ok, £10m to come. Except it's likely that if laundering is taking place then that figure will be paid in roubles and the stinking carcase of pfc will not benefit from it. It might be used, conversely, to get a season in the PL and then four more years of parachute payments. Repeat 'ad infinitum' something which although good business for the Russians might not please the phew? One season in five in the PL, just to regain more parachute payments would certainly please this fella! As to a 'likely' scenario? Any scenario is likely for you lot given the last ten years or so! From your colleague's words (above) it would seem that any scenario would actually be acceptable.

Removing one's head from one's arse normally alleviates the pain although I must admit I've never heard of sinus problems causing rectal discomfort. However I'm not a doctor and this may be more common than I know. Seek help.

If you make a lot of landline calls, outside of evenings and weekends (free with SKYTalk), then consider the extra £5 monthly for SKYTalk unlimited. It expands your free landline calls to 24/7. You'll also get free calls abroad to about 20 (you'll need to check) countries incl. (IIRC) U.S. Mobiles.

I, and a few others, stated at the time that he was put there to keep a lid on it. Nothing has happenes since to suggest anything to the contrary. In fact Mr Harrison seems to confirm my suspicions. Once again that greed stricken, and possibly corrupt?, institution FIFA/EPL/FA/FL that polices itself finds the wheelie bin lid being lifted. It will be slammed shut, I have no doubt. In football's case, who Polices the police? Nice work if you can get it and your conscience allows.

Yes mate, wouldn't want to confuse you with the Ho!

I agree with this, thought it, and said so, at the time of all the handwringing.

Classic. Saved, as a text document, for when the Ho slaps his tail fin against the tank wall too hard in protesting that their fans are contrite.

Saints 2 Preston 1 Match & Reaction Thread
EastleighSoulBoy replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Sadly Jonno is not for me either but what about young Ben Reeves then? I detected a bit of a tenacious streak in him and certainly an eye for openings. One most definitely for the future. Well played Ben! -
The fact that hundreds of thousands of both troops and civilians gave their lives indicates that there was a common aim, of freedom from Nazi tyranny. However, any 'special relationship' between any amount of countries will only exist as and when it suits ALL of the countries concerned. Should a country realise that it needs to dispense with that 'special relationship' to protect itself or aims in any way then it will do so. I don't think Pap is being Xenophobic, or anti American, just realistic and probably 'not getting' your picture?
