  1. Question for our fishy friends: When does debt become too much debt? Answer (in case you just can't work it out!) When you have to borrow from Criminals because legit sources won't touch you with a barge pole. ....and there is the difference between you and every other team Simples (and bye bye)
  2. Do you think they'll remember to pay the HMRC the VAT on the players they've just sold?
  3. Depends how much Stoke were offering now. 4 stage payements at £750k a throw isn't worth much to PFC
  4. Do people realise that if PFC sell a player for, say, £3m today, they won't get £3m All transfer feed in the EPL are paid in installments over 12 months. If they accept £3m from Stoke for the GK then they will be lucky to see £1m immediately bye bye Pompey, Pompey bye bye
  5. It's not £7m to HMRC, it's £11.5m. They were arguing that they were being over-charged by £7.5m I don't think the HMRC are in the mood to let them off the hook
  6. No disrespect, but it always makes me laugh when someone says 'if you take Lamberts goals away we'd be in the relegation zone' If Lambert didn't score he wouldn't be playing...... someone else would be...... maybe they'd score?....... maybe someone else would get to take the penalties instead......! I don't doubt he's very important and we would have a few points less, but let's not forget we started on -10, so only being 4 above the relegation zone just over half way isn't too disgraceful I suspect if it wasn't for Drogba Chelsea might have less points too
  7. Has the Danns thread moved somewhere else? Can someone tell me where to find it because I'd like to catch us with what's new with it.......
  8. Who says we haven't??????? If you haven't heard a leek I'd say it's more likely to happen!!!
  9. Good spot - guess that clears that up then:D
  10. Wiki says he is on loan to MK Dons for the season with no recall clause!!?
  11. I've not heard the Premier League say it doesn't matter anymore. I thought only Jacobs had said this, in which case it's unlikely to be true. Tick tock tick tock
  12. I don't think the PL are running scared - Just keeping quiet and letting PFC dig their own grave. They don't want to be the one to put nails in the coffin if someone else will do it for them. There is no way back
  13. Firstly, as good as NC is, this proposal will still be about the Italians trying to get investment from ML Secondly, if you look back at the original quotes from NC, he said that ML said he would only buy SFC if NC would fulfil this role. This type of person does not walk out on a project (or a promise), but they also don't look at jobs as most people do. This is not primarily about earning money, it's about the challenge. He may well have numerous 'other' projects running simultainiously, but this is his main one and NC will be here until he succeeds - AND HE WILL SUCCEED - people like NC always do. As for The Echo..... absolutely pathetic. They need to grow up and relalise there is a set of rules that they have to comply with, or they risk going the same way as our friends down the road are about to.
  14. Why no Harding?
  15. I thought that was a good point.... until I realised that all the offers made were in the last transfer window and that was when Bryan Gunn was in charge.
  16. If you read the whole thread on the Exeter forum more of them rate him than don't. You also have to allow for the f*ckwits who think anyone who doesn't want to play for their team is crap too If AP thinks he can do a job then good signing I say
  17. Never heard of Sir Alex Ferguson then? Anyone for the hairdryer?.... or is that him being nice?
  18. Now that did make me laugh 'Hope we dont sign all those players, because we can only play 11' followed by 'I think it will only be......' a different 5 players
  19. Rumours of cost on Palace forum is: £800k up front £400k if promoted within 3 years £100k after 50 games 5% sell-on clause
  20. Odd it's not on Sky They've shown every other round and then they get to the semi's with 2 of the better teams playing each other and they give it a miss
  21. I spoke to the guy that cut his hair. He said it was the only question he asked him. Q- 'Are you moving down' A- 'In the process' Apparently the girl that washed his hair asked him what he did for a living and didn't recognise him. He was probably pleased to get a bit of anonimity as he is almost godlike around here
  22. ...and by the way. AP is in the process of moving down. From the horses mouth as they say
  23. Well I can answer the original question anyway..... Q- Where did AP go after Fat Face A- He went to Toni & Guy and got his haircut. I saw him in there Mystery solved.... back to football then
  24. Looked good against a Prem side before the transfer window closed..... Looked poor against a L1 side when there is no chance of a move..... There's a pattern there but I just can't see it.........
  25. I was at the game on Saturday and sit in the Itchen pretty much in line with most of the Papa offside decisions. Whilst I think alot of the stuff in this thread is hysterical there are some facts you can't ignore about the 10 offsides in the last 20 minutes. Half of them were down to Papa seeing an opportunity to get clear of the defencive line but he was just way to quick on the move for the midfielder coming into possession of the ball. I say 'coming into possession' of the ball because on at least 3 out of the 4 occasions he had broken the defensive line before the ball had reached the player who would need to have put him through. So maybe it's just timing and understanding - BUT THAT IS BEING VERY KIND! On at least 4 other occasions he was standing with his back to the oppositions goal, 5 to 10 years offside, and calling for a pass. He could clearly see the whole defence the wrong side of him by a very long way when he was calling for it. Our guys must have wondered what he was on! It could be as FF says and he just doesn't understand the rule. It could be that he really isn't very bright (Sorry - to any I offend by that comment), but I found those particular offsides very worrying. My son in his school side would have been screamed at by the teacher for that.
