Personally hoping its neither and its Kampl from Liepzig. 29 but RH knows him very well. Reminds me a little bit of Alan Ball in his style...high energy, breaks the play up and then keeps it very simple. Exactly what we need in front of the the CBs.

Just because certain players are listed now does not mean they or we are not looking to get rid. By not listing them you are telling them you don't want them when it might actually be that we end up needing them in the squad and it will tell other clubs we do not wsnt them which gives them room to negotiate a lower fee.

Theres a flaw in your spiel because if you were under an NDA even mentioning there is an NDA you are admitting that something is going on and that will break the NDA. Keep the entertainment up though, been fun!

You may be correct but I suspect not with at least one or even two of them. Danso by the way isnt ours and is now on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf. I just hope our CEO has more positivity around selling them than you and I'm sure he will.

Love it!!! Question people need to ask regarding the price is would you want us to sign him for £15-20m? Would that be cheap, overpriced or about right? I dont think I'd want him at all. Decent enough deal for me given length of outstanding contract period. Very hopeful by what is happening with the squad...

you had me convinced until Haaland😂

Could it be we have new owners and they want to announce themselves first and then follow it up with player announcements, Salisu, KWP, McKennie signings, JWP and Betrand extensions??? Would certainly have a massive impact!! Reality or hope....😁
-
So KWP and TA for PEH???
-
nationality? current league?

Its very clear to me that we need 4 CBs. Assuming Vestergarrd does go which I hope, Salisu seems a good start. As you say though, spending maybe upwards of 15m on a 4th choice CB does seem excessive for us. However, who's to say this 4th CB is intended to be 4th "choice". As good a season Bednarek and Stephens have had latterley they are both prone to significant mistakes and lapses in concentration; Stephens more so in my opinion. Could it perhaps be that Stephens might be considered as a utility man moving forward, CB, RB and even DCM? Not a bad option on the bench but in the case of a couple of injuries/suspensions will be very useful. In sport improvements of teams will ineitably leave some players behind. Spending well on 2 better CBs than we have makes total sense for me.

Didn't someone say that there was going to be an announcement pre todays match? Not much time left...
-
not asking for details but what are you inferring? Good things about said family members? The exit? and why wife in quatation marks? do you know facts or hinting at rumour?

I guess we might take a lower offer based on the payment structure. For example Everton are offering 25m over 3 years whereas Spurs are offering 20m over 2. From a cash flow perspective you might accept Spurs offer.
-
meh...£25m is probably about right, obviously more is better but not sure he is all that. Morgan and Victor were better when they went. Will be interesting whether RH has a new player in mind in terms of a purchase or whether he feels Reed will be good enough, with the possibility of Jankewitz coming through in a year or two.
-
If Reed wasnt "one of ours" would anyone think him good enough? I doubt it very much. I dont. Devent enough professional mind but not good enough for a Premier League team with ambitions to challenge the top 8 positions. We need to find a first choice DCM to compliment JWP and Armstrong in the main, with Smallbone, Romeu, and Jankewitz(hopefully) as the more itermittat starters.

European pressing stats - Liverpool, Bayern Munich... Southampton

interesting..thanks MLG. -
I'd be tempted to get rid of FF and AMc, get a new clear no.1 and a younger keeper, up and coming from the Championship perhaps, and send Gunn out on loan. Completely freshen up that department of the team. There will hopefully, likely be at least 1 if not 2 new CBs plus RB and even CM, so they'll need to gel as a unit anyway!!

crikey....he looks exciting...comfortable with both feet at that age....something Michael Owen for one never was. If we get this kid ahead of others I would regard that asa coup based on that video..

Of all the recent "probably too good to stay" classed players I think Ings will stay. Sometimes in life happiness, stability, contentment are going to be more important than money, and you just need to watch him on the pitch and his interactions with other players and RH and he looks incredibly happy. Sometimes footballers just want to play football....I think we judge a few a bit too harshly sometimes, assuming its ONLY about money (probably because of our own jealousies of the amount they earn - which actually I am not). Obviously if you want to leave and money is important then it is all about money. If however the football is priority because you know you're getting a shed load regardless, then other things become more important. Of course I could be totally wrong and he goes in a months time, but if I were betting on it I reckon he will sign an extension rather than leave. As others have stated, he coould become a true Saints legend if he sees out his career here. 🤞

given the financial situation I'm not too adverse to that possibility, regardless of the past. Clyne would be good experience for Valery to learn off as still think he will be good despite how he has looked in these first two games! Lallana would be less neccessary but hes still a quality player I think, better than most of ours, but the uestion is whether he would fit RH style. Lallana in, Boufal out? The reality is that this summer will be one of wheeling and dealing getting out as many as possbile primarily. 2 x CBs are the priority for me.
-
what a fantastic idea!!! You should get in touch with club asap!!!

Schneiderlin and Wanyama were better when they left us than he is now, and neither of them really made it elsewhere. I'd like him to stay but if he goes I doubt he will fare any better than those two I have mentioned.

Its not difficult to concude ffs....ALL business regardless of level of tunrnover requires "cash flow" to operate. Football and other sports will very likely be the last business to get back to normality with no limit on customer attendance, hence they are very much at risk of administration / bankruptcy. It doesnt matter whether they have hughe assets, loads of creditors on the balance sheet, without the cash to pay the weekly bills you are fooked.
