Yes that's absolutely right! Direct quote - Martin Hunter "our centre backs were very very poor in the late stages of the game" - this means that in the late stages of an individual under 21 game the centre backs were very very poor. Opinion - "4.2 million - what a complete waste of money this appears to be." Quite clearly not what is quoted by Hunter and is purely the opinion of the poster. May not be wrong but so so so clearly not what Hunter was directly saying. Unless I have missed something and everytime a player is quoted as having a poor period in a game there was no point in buying them and they were a waste of money.

Vergard Forren; do the club need to explain to the fans

6 games unbeaten - ****!!!! Quick!!!!! Change the defense right away!!!!! Even his agent was calm and happy about the situation and how it's a longer term plan than just this season! -
what are the stats? how many points when he does and doesn't play? (obviously loads of other things in the equation but might be interesting to see - probably not!)
-
too right, Geroges Prost brought so much to our club through his insight in to our acadamy and its players, he brought a culture that has continued to turn out good footballers, importantly good technical footballers and also some decent kids with a sensible head on their shoulders - fair play fella

It would be interesting to see how other teams signings have got on too, whilst we want every signing to come off they won't and that's the same nationwide. To say our transfer team is under performing has to consider other similar clubs performance as a standard too really. Some things can't be accounted for also, a player signed in jan has to be good enough for the prem if promoted but want to stay if not promoted which is really hard. Lee could be a hero for us know at the top of the champ in another world that saw west ham not bottle automatic promotion!

I can't be sure who he's talking about, both on same points and similar goal dif so really exactly the same situation for both teams! A must not lose

was ir lowe that organised rthe use of the bristol satelite to the academy that allowed us to get bale. As i remember (and i could easily be wrong) lowe managed to organise this due to us having alot of water in our catchment area and therefore we could widen our search area to compensate. If so thats a good bit of business, doesnt make up for other failings but maybe bale is a bonus we can only argue about becaue of lowe?

Dunno about improvement, he's not a great right back in a team with no midfield cover, he is a good centre back. Felt he stood out as far back as everton away. Be interesting to see how he develops

whilst i cant disagree weve let leads slip it would be interesting to see how other temas have fared in the same way - whilst we let a lead slip this weekend we certainly werent the only ones. I also feel our early season performances against the manchester teams skew the results slightly - most teams (especially lower half) simply dont get the opportunity to let leads slip against these teams. Obviously it doesnt change the facts but personally feel these should be taken in to account a bit. Points against wigan and stoke hurt alot but sure they have their own stories, im sure that its harder as a lower team in the prem though than a top team as weve been used to the last three years and that could make a difference too

that was a pain admittedly but is it something that is happening repeatedly?? not thought that myself, more just yellows associated with being a top defensive midfielder with the most tackles and interceptions in the prem.

Was it NA that was the Secret Squirrel after all?
Saint Troy replied to merrimd's topic in The Saints
Youre right, absolutely they are in terms of are they the best team going which is a fair point - comment was more in response to "as evidenced by no other clubs that I am aware of employing that policy to such a rigorous degree". I was more saying that just cause no one else does something it doesnt mean its wrong. I guess often the best teams could be doing things right but thats certainly not always the case - maybe its this thinking that has got team GB to be equivalent to Man united. -

Interesting - the cycling analagy is a very good one - no other teams all use the super fast looking cycling helmets - does that mean GB shouldnt have bothered? -
i think guly and hooiveld have both proven they are adequate cover in the recent weeks to be fair. Lallana back and De Ridder is third choice to get a go on the left hand side.

Not exactly stuffed full of quotes that story!

Appears to be a big media drive since nige was binned, lots of you tube stuff etc (it's propaganda but I like it!) Guessing one will be mp but maybe a signing??
-
cortese turns up the whole conferene is about adkins - is that fair on the new guy - hey i dont like it at all but hes our manager now and this is his first press conference - far better tp be about the club going forard - could turn up and bin off al the questions but that doesnt help anyone really, cowardly or smart move by cortese not to be there - probably the latter?

Protests, booing, boycotts are Not going to Help us Move on
Saint Troy replied to Crowds's topic in The Saints
take it out on cortese yes, take it out on the new manager and the team then im afraid youre being a hypocrite - those of us who loved nige for his positive atitude can only now emulate that and try to move on as a team including the new manager. Sad sad day but see where this takes us .... -
sad sad day , love nige. however, if your a believer in niges philosophys then im afraid the only way forward for the club is cheers the team, cheer the new manager and move forward

this is interesting - i do feel that wit hhim dropping off in to build up play we have seen less of him at the back post. good that were not just relying on that to score goals but would maybe like to see him in the mix more for balls slung in (hes scored a few like that this season i know but like to see it more)
-
i think management thought that fox would be up to more in the prem and at that point wouldve been seen very much seen as buying an old hand whos not amazing and getting in the way of shaw with two people above him in the squad. Bit of hindsight and maybe bridge would provide good support to shaw but i cant imagine a situation where we couldve sold fox in the summer
-
fox has had more of a confidence about himself recently but he needs to work on his consistany to improve and if he improves his consistency will be better

i caught myself saying "about ourselves" refering to our business for the first time ever last week. Ive been on a trial seperation from Nigel interviews ever since

stange how people can be annoyed that we spent 12m on gaston and didnt spend it on defenders (a different position to his if i remember correctly) but a gaston vs ox discussion is craaaaaazy!! both have a maturity about their play and something different. Gaston is creative but ox has a raw raw energy. Whilst were normally crying out for pace for saints i feel gaston offers more to the current set up than ox. The football we play has gaston really combining people together, keeping the ball, something which i really admired in the top areas of the pitch vs newcastle. Dads not a skate too!

top marks all round! hadr to fault anyone but a special mention to gazza - puncheon continuing excellent form is one thing - gazza producing two very good saves (one really top class) at quite important times was crucial to the victory and showed good charachter. to think that couldve been saggy chops first game in charge for us and not another stylish performance for Niges boys

what happens if guly is brought on from the bench after 10:59 mins. boo or clap you decide?
