Well yeah.... wasnt he only on loan anyway?

gate receipts are halved in all FA cup games

the JPT gets my vote, but its hard to resist destroying pompey... guaranteed 5th place is all well and good but it doesnt get us promotion
-
Another facebook quote from a pompey mate: i genuinely think you will win but whatever its all banter. and realistically tears as well.
-
well said sir. In fact they're the team i would least like to see go out of business (well except us obviously)
-
Just got this from my pompey fan mate on facebook: Knew it was gonna happen! :-) typical it's at st.mary's though, will be surprised if we pull off a win x THEYRE WORRIED

-
YESSSESESSSSS im alreaddy drunk and panning to be more so! great rescut!
-
ah good, coming back from canterbury for this one so that gives me a little more time
-
YES exactly what I wanted to come home to after an appalling lecture I said at the start of the window that i would be delighted if we managed to get Barnard or Jackson - and we've done it! Great squad now

Daily echo twitter confirmed that Jaidi is fit and Connolly deffo out. Apologies for the OP, mauling was the wrong word - just was a little horrified at how many first team players we had out!
-
Jaidi is back but Seaborne, Fonte, Otsemebor, Hammond, Morgan and Connolly are all out. Could be a mauling. I guess we'll line up something like this: Davis Thomas - Perry - Jaidi - Harding Antonio - James - Wotton - Holmes Lambert - Lallana
-
It seems to me that after a great run of form, some teams have pinpointed both Lambert and Lallana as our main threats. AL seems to be sheperded out of games. I dont think he's played badly, he just hasnt been allowed the time he was getting a month or so ago. IMO he needs a goal to give his offensive confidence a boost, because defensively he's rli improved recently
-
+1 will be enough for a draw at least imo
-
Ignoring the -10, look at what AP has done. He inherited a vastly depleted squad. He has highlighted weaknesses and gone out to improve them. Despite having very little pre-season and starting poorly, he has taken us into the top six (remember we're ignoring the -10) Lallana and Schniederlin have grown into key players, and are twice the players they were last season. We are into the 4th Round of the FA cup We're one step away from the JPT final. He doesnt talk **** - he tells it just as it is. Conclusion = he is a good manager (however, promotion next season is the minimum we should expect)
-
I reckon (not ITK, just a hunch) that we will sign Stock at the end of the window for around 750k + SG. Seems like a fair amount imo for a player who is out of contract in a few months. I think people are underestimating just how much the length of contract effects price.

Not necessarily, we still have two weeks to go, dont panic

This is great, very confident about our two GKs. says a lot that we think so highly of both
-
Davis is first choice. Davis is club captain. If he is fit then he starts

I dont understand the arguement about not playing two new CBs. Assuming we play Fonte, anyone we play with him will only have known him for two days, whether thats Perry or Seaborne it doesnt matter. I think it will be Seaborne as MLG's evidence sounds convincing With what we know now, my revised starting line up is: Davis Otsemobor - Fonte - Seaborne - Harding ---James - Hammond - Schniederlin--- Waigo------------------------Lallana -------------Lambert----------------
-
Sounds like a good deal and would allow us to spend big on a striker!

http://www.fansonline.net/gillingham/mb/view.php?id=90531 They seem to think a mil is fair for him, but will do better in another team

Hey guys, just got back to Canterbury after xmas break and had a quick word with my next door neighbour, an old boy who has a Gills season ticket and lives for league football. I asked him about SJ and he said this Jackson could be a top player. He has a lot of attributes, pace, touch, he reads the game well. His problem is immaturity, occasionally when he's through on goal he'll panic and blast it over when a top quality finisher like Beckford or your Connolly would calmly bury it. but he is only 22. i think he'll develop, but not here. im hapy to admit we're not the best team and a the moment he is a big fish, he needs to be surrounded by better players to learn the game from, and to give him chances. With Lambert to play off and Connolly to learn from, and players like lallana to grow with i think saints might be the best place for him. There was talk of Leeds and him replacing JB, but he is not ready to lead the line in the CCC if they go up. As a Gills fan i dont wanna lose him, but the boy wont get many better offers and it would be good for his development I was amazed at how much he knew about us! but still an interesting summary, i would love to see him here. The question is the price tag. If Lambert is worth 1mil at 27 after a season of 29 goals, can we say SJ has the potential to warrant the same amount? I hope so
