I feel your pain with that commute mate. I used to travel Southampton Central - Waterloo, then Waterloo to Bank on the underground every day too, for 2 years and it was horrible. Never again! Before that, I lived in Canada Water which is SE London but nice... was a pain driving back to Southampton though as you had to fight your way through London traffic! I would recommend Clapham as well. Good train links to get back down to Southampton. Very good social scene there and a big park too. Are you working in the City? If so, Clapham is good as you have the Northern Line which takes you to Bank and Moorgate stations direct. Like others have said, Richmond, Twickenham, Wimbledown are all nice too. Though whilst you are nearer to getting out of London and the M3 and it is a nice area, it is a longer commute to work each day compared to places like Clapham so best to bear that in mind too.... though obviously no way near to what you are currently doing! Holy ****. My flat is 2 floors down, but it's rented out to other tenants at the moment. Hope they catch the culprits, but must admit, it is quite easy to get into the communal part as sometimes the door doesn't shut properly on the latch (or you just wait until someone else for a out and holds the door open for you). I might contact the letting agency I use who is the same one as his and find out what happened

I used to live 2 floors under him in Ocean Village until my job moved me out here. Still own the flat though so it's a good deal breaker when trying to find tenants to live there - especially Saints fans! (Les Reed lives in the same complex too)
