Naming a child after a geographical location is fine..... 'Cockermouth can you tidy your bedroom please?'

Mick Channon MLT was probably the most talented, but I started going to games in the Channon era, and for me that was probably the best era in our history up to about 84. Although he'd gone by then.

If you were on the transfer committee...
Prince Jazzbo replied to sydneysaint17's topic in The Saints
I thought we were the transfer committee. However, I dont think we should be looking at pure financial value, there should be a number of factors, such as ability, age, willingness to sign up to the 'project' (although they'll all say they are) and price -
Looks like Stamford Bridge when Chelsea played Charlton a few years ago.

I remember a Denis Hollywood tackle on Mike Summerbee circa 1969/70. It was an evening game, I can remember Summerbee yelping in pain. I can still picture it now.

He'd probably bring his son back for a start

I saved two penalties from Steve Williams years ago. Very minor claim to fame.

It been stated several times, however, it doesnt make good for a good argument, so people will choose to ignore it. Also the MS statement, at no point does it say he would leave, or that any other player would leave, he said it would put everything into question for every player. That doesnt mean they'll leave it means that you would need to question the owners ambition, at least in my eyes that what he meant.

Hopefully there will be, I'll get served quicker in the pub then.

WUMs v Happy Clappies: A psychological analysis

Its all probably along the same lines as this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-22542222 -
Yes, and they've got one plane with an image of Santa and his sleigh splattered over the nose cone.

Saints come 5th in Public Transport League Table
Prince Jazzbo replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
They should have something equivalent to the Fair Play League relating to public transport which results in European qualification. -
If you want a laugh fly with Kulula in South Afica. They're very good, but also hilarious.

He's hoping that Micky Fialka will emerge a a contender for Chief Exective, as clearly he would have delivered in excess of what Cortese has so far.

Surely by now the media will realise what most football fans worked out years ago. Also surely any right minded chairman should not let him near a clubs finances. I think Levy at Spurs realised this, hence why he gave him the elbow, but Fernandes seems to be blind to it all.

The title of this thread is increasingly beginning to remind me of the film Marathon Man 'Is it safe?'

In actual fact if you look at our entire history from the date that both clubs existed. We have finished higher in the league more times than they have. I cant remember the actual stats, but it starts right back when we were in the Southern League. Their league titles aside, our overall league performance has always been superior to theirs. Something you dont hear about from them.

Pochettino targets Champions League spot next season
Prince Jazzbo replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Malaga are a good example of what could be acheived. Similar sized stadium, and relatively rich owners. They did ok in this years Champions League. They're a good model for us to follow, but I think it will take more than a season, if at all. But its what you must aim for. Having said that, is'nt there some question of unpaid debts or something? -

They probably want the Council to organise a bank holiday to commemorate the event. I know someone that managed a Wessex League side that had played AFC Portchester and had their after match refreshments at the Wicor pub. Apparently they've got a huge brass plaque on the wall commemorating their win that day. Their league titles I could understand but a win over your local rivals is pushing it.

So an open top bus tour is off the cards then, if we avoid relegation?

I reckon his translator should take a quick blast of helium before he answers each question, just to give the interview a little more life.
