He also played at Totton and Eling in the Wessex league for a few months. They helped him get get his fitness back etc, and then he went off to Oz. Although, I think they fully expected him to go.

A famous footballer (I can't recall who), had a chapter in his autobiography called something like 'What the Average Club Chairman Knows About Football'. This was followed by about 20 blank pages. I remember this greatly upsetting Brian Moore who was Chairman of Gillingham at the time.

I thought that was the purpose of this thread....to have a bit of a laugh at inaccurate predictions.

His cliched interviews can be a bit annoying, but its a darn sight better that listening to George Burley slurring his way through excuses, or Rednapp moaning about the players being crap, or Jan Portvliet/ Mark Wotte trying to sound like Steve Mclaren. I just hope that people are still positive if we hit a rough patch. Its likely that it will happen, and I can see quite a few on here turning on him, which in my eyes would be a shame.

I think you've got to keep an open mind, on these things. Often potentiall crap signings turn out to be ok. How many people were happy when Crouch signed?

A few years ago, quite a few to be honest. I spent some time dossing around the shores of lake geneva, and I went over to Evian countless times. I've only found out today that they had a football club. Although after close inspection, they've not been around that long.

I think at least 50-60% of the teams in this league are a threat. Theres 12 or 13 teams that could challenge for the top 6. That why its so hard to predict, which makes it more exciting than the prem. I wont have my eye on anyone in particular.
