Does anyone know if Cortese is Sicillian by birth? He certainly has a Mafia look about him and let's be honest - you don't rise to his position at such a young age without being ruthless. He strikes me as man who gets what he wants so i reckon he'd sack Pardew at the drop of hat if a better option comes along. So where does this tie in with the DOF role? My take is that a DOF is simply a pair of eyes and ears for the chairman, but the said DOF needs to have a good relationship with any given manager. The manager is the most important person at a football club (even more important than Rupert Lowe was!) and as such i believe the DOF should be brought in after the manager. The last thing Saints need is a David Pleat type character who thinks he rules the roost already implanted should Mr Cortese seek to find the perfect manager. It would put good candidates off.

George Burley is clearly a befuddled alcoholic - you can see it in him. Towards the end of his time with us it really affected his ability to mange in my opinion and if he'd been allowed to continue with us we would have been relegated. Scotland should sack him because he's not capable of doing the job there, just like he wasn't capable of managing us. That said i appreciate he was a very good manager before his drinking got out of control.

I take on board what you are saying, but disagree. The players are under so much pressure because of the points deduction that they are not using their heads. We've created many fair opportunities to score, but not enough killer opportunities. I want to see more of Melis because he's a brilliant player from what i've seen of him. He's prepared to run at defenders to get into the position where killer balls can be delivered. Most of the time he'll lose the ball, but when he does get through he's a player that can unlock a defence.

Confidence is the problem. It's understandable given the results, but we just need to have a little bit more belief. We should be scoring 2 or 3 goals most games.

It was a bad result. Forget the score and the fact Charlton are unbeaten, we dominated for long periods and couldn't score 2 or 3 goals. Today was another wasted opportunity. I'm 100% behind the club and it's so frustrating at the minute.
