  1. doesn't it just come down to supply and demand though? Few teams might really want him, he'll go to the highest bidder?
  2. Decent win, against a tough side. Great result in context of Spurs game. Usual scenario of Saints fans moaning all game, then streaming for the exits with 5 mins to go. Not to worry, it's only our best side in a generation.
  3. Agreed, RIP. Loved the coverage and analysis he used to do.
  4. But for the money we got for Lallana we've brought in both Tadic and Mane haven't we? So an overall improvement I'd argue.
  5. Is this part of the £200k a year we have to spend on encouraging away support? I reckon the club have worked out its financially better to put that money towards their own resources (coach provision), than subsidising away tickets, where the money would just go straight to the home team.
  6. I'd completely agree with all that as well, best summation of where we are from an attacking point of view.
  7. I agree with that theory, we really shouldn't need Wanyama and Schneiderlin, but that approach really didn't work against Burnley.
  8. Yeah, he should knock it all on the head, turn down those Italy call ups, what the point
  9. I think we'd still be around the same point we are now. Lambert was already slowing down for us, I'm not sure if he'd manage to be a regular starter for us. Lallana has been replaced by Mane and Tadic, so net overall impact there can't be much in it.
  10. What's your point? Everyone agrees we've been struggling going forward for the last few months and its the one area we need to improve.
  11. What are you going on about now? Of course our lack of firepower influences the decision, but it's also a sign of respect, I can't see Everton sitting so deep and time wasting against s**t teams that are also struggling to score.
  12. A very good deal, but why don't we subsidise the match tickets to benefit all fans attending.
  13. Yep, nick a goal and then hang onto it for dear life is the tactic that has worked against us, plus we have been a bit unlucky falling victim to some amazing strikes and unlucky drops of the ball.
  14. There's nothing wrong with discussing the areas we need to improve, but there are plenty of uses of words like "awful", "appalling", which we're not, not even close. At the end of the day, we're playing good football, doing fine, it won't get much better for us, if fans don't enjoy it now, when will they? It's not likely to ever get better than this.
  15. Yes, I'd say his quotes are pretty much right. Again, what would you rather he say?
  16. I think the difference is Ramirez really wasn't happy with only being a bit part squad player, plus from our side, Djuricic might be costing us less in wages, paying him an amount that works for a squad member.
  17. What does that clause say?
  18. Looks like Lambert will be pushed out of the door, sad to see, will end his career at somewhere like West Brom, but can still see why the Liverpool move was a gamble he'd always want/have to take.
  19. Or we out negotiated them and Bournemouth, just as likely.
  20. We weren't anything near awful. Have some perspective and try to enjoy watching a great Saints side.
  21. Why would it be? Why would we sell Lallana for less than Liverpool valued him at?
  22. We didn't "up" any price. There was no set price. We agreed a fee that was acceptable to us in the knowledge of what we would have to pay to Bournemouth and acceptable to Liverpool, hence the deal was done. We always knew what we would have to pay to Bournemouth, so there was no "lesser" fee.
  23. Why on earth would we have let Lallana go for less than we could get for him?
  24. Why would they be dim? I can see how having only one year left on a contract would affect a player's sale value if there was only one interested buyer, but if there is more than one and it turns into a bit of an auction, it'd just come down to who offers most and for most top clubs, £20m+ for a top PL experienced, English right back at Clyne's age would present reasonable value for them I would have thought.
