I think we'd still be around the same point we are now. Lambert was already slowing down for us, I'm not sure if he'd manage to be a regular starter for us. Lallana has been replaced by Mane and Tadic, so net overall impact there can't be much in it.

We didn't "up" any price. There was no set price. We agreed a fee that was acceptable to us in the knowledge of what we would have to pay to Bournemouth and acceptable to Liverpool, hence the deal was done. We always knew what we would have to pay to Bournemouth, so there was no "lesser" fee.

Why would they be dim? I can see how having only one year left on a contract would affect a player's sale value if there was only one interested buyer, but if there is more than one and it turns into a bit of an auction, it'd just come down to who offers most and for most top clubs, £20m+ for a top PL experienced, English right back at Clyne's age would present reasonable value for them I would have thought.
