He is excellent skipper material - I know its only rumours at this stage but he is a realistic target and one to get a bit excited about!
-
I rather like the other link on that page where Liverpool fans are braying at spending £25m on Lallana when Kroos cost Real £5m less...
-
And concrete Ron was as good as any other centre back who appeared in the World Cup! That would be some signing to get excited about...
-
Does not strike me as being very ITK either... Martins Indi was always going to Porto (it was reported just before the World Cup even started) so the statement that he was spoken to probably means RonKo wished him "Good Morning and good luck" and not "Will you sign".
-
I don't believe we were ever in for Janmaat so it was a free run for them on that one... If we really wanted a player and if we were up against Newcastle for their signature we could and would compete very strongly against them.
-
I guess we do not want to pay £16m for another Osvaldo when we paid only £7m for Jay-Rod! It's not Lowe style at all - It's just the right man at the right price..
-
I can understand that - Good defender (and attacker) at set pieces but average on the ball and has a turning circle as slow as a container ship in the Solent...
-
Called Saffron and Chilli - Either of these a nickname for Ings by any chance !! ;0)
-
Is it worth telling the Scousers that if they buy our entire team they will finish 8th in the Prem next season !!!
-
Mid Table will do nicely for a rebuilding clubs such as ours, and reckon this time we could get a better cup run too!
-
He's paid to be a gob-****e, so lets not be surprised when he behaves like one. He can tout all the players around as much as he likes bt if we don't want to sell or the fee is'nt good enough then nothing he can say will make a blind bit of difference.
-
I disagree with that. I think that additional bit of competition will help young Gallagher's development - Towards the end of last season when he made the side, it was really only between him or Guly to play up top after Jay got injured and I just think he could have done better with somebody else breathing down his neck for the place.
-
I would not be adverse to him coming in if we are that interested - Plenty of time to develop the undoubted raw talent he has - he just needs to play for a manager who can engender self belief into his head!
-
We can trump that easily - And would get one of the best centre backs on show during the world cup into the bargain.

Great read and very well written. We all find our way to supporting "our Club" whoever it is by different means - I was a rugby playing fanatic who grew up in Norfolk surrounded by NCFC supporters, and although I went to Carrow Road often I never felt any pull to support them - In fact I supported no football club. I moved to Hampshire in the early 90's and a new work mate had season tickets to The Dell and took me along a few times - MLT was in his pomp and that tight ground generated such an atmosphere and I was hooked for life. Keep writing my friend - Its a true life story.

Koeman's first Southampton press conference 11/7/14
Foxstone replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
No "Best Endeavours" then ?! -
No I don't think so - Was mentioned in despatches as being a Manure target, but that particular emphasis seems to have shifted towards the already proven premiership quality of Vlaar. His stock has certainly shot up thanks to the World Cup, but he is young and would be a better fit and perhaps get more regular football with a club like ours - And we do of course have a strong Dutch connection unlike the "Toons".

One very, very burnt bridge!

Markus was certainly no softy - You don't get to being the successful businessman he was being soft as ****e, but there is a difference to being soft and having some humility about him - And I think he was that type of man. There is no doubt in my mind that he was the instigator of Pardew's dismissal, but that was not a bad call as it turned out either - Perhaps like many in the football world he just did'nt like the head butting, grey haired creep, and wanted somebody more to his liking - Step forward Nigel, another man of good manners and humility. As for Cortese, well you obviously think he was the devil incarnate but I beg to differ - Ruthless yes, but capable and driven, yes, yes, yes!!!
-
Now that is what I would call a bloody good close seasons work.....
-
Markus did'nt just save us, he rebuilt us and from where we were there is no way on earth we would be where we are today without his intervention. The magnitude of what he did for us might be lost on some, but not the majority I would suggest - I still cannot beleive our good fortune when he chose us, bargain or not. In saying all of that though, Markus was a man of great humility and would probably have baulked at the idea of having a stand named after him, and I sense Katarina is cut from the same cloth and perhaps would prefer this not to happen.
-
Ruddy is highly regarded at Norwich and from what I have seen of him, is a good keeper. Better than Artur though ? Perhaps....
-
Exactly this ! This perhaps was one of Poch's decisions that does not make him infallible eh!
-
I really do not think that Spurs are up for spending lots of cash this window - They blew the bank last year and it's up to Poch to make it all work with perhaps a few modest additions. After all, it was only yesterday they were offering the unwanted Sigurdsson as a straight swap for Davies and Vorm! It does'nt seem like a club on the acquisition trail to me.
-
Chuffed with this signing - Seems he likes RonKo too !
