Great post Gemmel I would say there has been a feelgood factor here ever since Markus and Nicola arrived, and this window has re-enforced the words and intent they made to us - Unlike the words and intent the fishmongers have had to endure from there considerably less virtuous and benevolent owners. A fantastic window superbly managed by Nicola and Nigel and warmest congratualtions to them for that.

It might be successfully argued that our "marquee signing" has already been made when Adam Lallana extended his contract. For me that was a key piece of business very well done!

The problem from Liverpools perspective is that they are not wholly awash with cash, and the pressure is on to invest in already proven players to a) galvanise the moribund mood in the club and b) to supplement the relatively sparse quality they have. I'm really not sure if they can afford use £10 million or whatever on a youngster in his first year - And then take time to "mould him" ! They need big names NOW !
