Lol Perhaps they can engage the "Great Consultant" Storrie to erect these fences ! He comes at a very competitive rate

Bournemouth chairman "not welcome" directors box (sigh)

LOL ! Perhaps S Mears might like to take Mitchell's place in the box on Saturday ! They speak similar drivel. -
Just how/why did pre-season turn into such a shambles ?

I agree - It was flaming fabulous. Did you know of any viable alternative ?? Thought not ! -

I thought you SISA types thought nobody could be hated more than Lowe ! So if you think that persuading a very wealthy and decent man to save us from extinction and running the club as a sound business makes him clueless - Then I hate to think what that makes you ! -

Well I think he is doing a good job and on balance, the players lack of preparation for the new season is more down to Themselves and Pardew than anybody else. And quite frankly after persuading Markus to save us from the dustbin he can have as much ego as he likes. If you have an axe to grind then fine its your perogative, but anonymous posting trying to undermine the CEO at a time when we need to "kick on" under a talented new manager is quite frankly not welcome. -
Ah Yes the infamous Scooby - Clearly a spammer but worth letting him post for the lunacy value alone ! GM has been a noteworthy poster for years and as others have said he is always worth a read! But he does sometimes push the boundaries beyond the rules as he has done here, but no doubt he will return and I look forward to that.

Shanks was a bit of pot/kettle with this one really - I mean Ron Yeats and Tommy Smith were hardly shrinking violets themselves. But it was perhaps the start of the " inferred pressure on the referees" to side with the seemingly trangressed against, so often seen nowadays.
-
Was'nt Pavarotti a goalkeeper too in his youth ?
-
Now when I saw him play last season I did not rate him, and thought we had not bought well in acquiring him. I did not attend the matches against Colchester or the Owls but I am hugely encouraged by what other posters are reporting on him and I will be delighted to have my impressions of him from last season proved wrong.
-
I think you will find he is. If he had not persuaded Markus that we were a worthwhile investment opportunity, then we would be in Conference South by now!
-
I think you are right - Thankfully!

Thats called efficiency and happens in British business all the time! Dictatorship my foot !
-
I wonder whether Poopey still owe Genoa money for Van Den Borre,s loan last season !! Whatever - Go Go Genoa ! Hahahahaha!
-
Maybe it was'nt hystericial but it was crude, rude and offensive. Perhaps if he chose to raise his argument in a more grown up and constructive manner, then it would not be such a red rag to a bull for many of us.
-
I am not going to disappoint Hypo on this one - You are an idiot ! Just remember that if it was'nt for Cortese persuading his wealthy and kindly friend that we were a good propostion, we would be consigned to the history books as one who bit the dust! No Club, No Soul No Nothing !
-
Err No ! Sounds like a load of drivel made up by you ! Substantiate it or go away!
-
I assume you did not read the posts from some of those who attended the "meet Cortese" evening? It was reported that 300 out of 1000 or so DDI's were reneged upon while the tickets were still used. Hardly commercially viable is it?
-
But its no less a reality than the insinuation from the poster I responded to that the "lower than anticipated" attendances are down to Cortese! I think its more circumstantial to assume that after 2 pretty healthy attendances in August against Plymouth and Orient, that the standard of fare served up together with the disappointing results have contributed to the downward trend against Rochdale and Colchester. However I beleive that Cortese has appointed well with Adkins, and once the results and performances start to materialise - So will the fans !
-
But was'nt the reason for withdrawal of the payment plan due to "bounced DDI's or general non payers"? If so, the commercials seem to me to be about right !
-
Watch it increase again when we are in the middle of a 5 game winning streak and playing good football of the type promised by NA. Nothing to do with NC at all and it is disingenuous of you to suggest otherwise.
-
Very disheartening news and all good thoughts towards Chris at this time.
-
And I would agree with that ! The big difference for me in the Single Owner point is that Lowe's primary responsibility was towards the wellbeing of the PLC, while Cortese's is towards the legacy of Markus - And fortunately for us that means the footballing side!
-
Now I agree with you too Daren up to a point, and I have no problem with MLT/LM/MO giving their public views, provided they are mounted constructively. The sentence I have highlighted is driven by my despair at the political infighting that totally hamstrung us from 2006 with the backbiting and destructive relationship under all of Lowe/Wilde/Crouch/Hone etc. I longed for us to have a single decision maker with a coherent strategy to cut through all the crap and move us forward - I think most Saints fans wanted the same. In Cortese ( and as you rightly point out I do like him) we have that person, and he also was a trusted associate and confidente of Markus so it is reasonable to assume his stock is similar with the Liebherr family too. MLT/LM's opinions carry a great deal of weight in the media, and while they are perfectly entitles to their opinion, I beleive that the direct confrontational style I have heard could be better put that would still get their point across without seemingly undermining the current leadership. Whether you like Cortese or not, currently he is the key to our well being and I would hate it if he felt that "media stories" undermined him so much that he walked away - Potentially with the Liebherr family too. I do not see a Plan B of similar means and vision if that happens!
-
Nothing wrong with an opinion of course, and for the record I have great respect for all these people. But there is a difference in giving a constructive opinion, or an opinion which might be regarded as destructive or has the potential to undermine the current club leadership, at a time when most fans appear not to want such undermining words placed in public ! They serve no great purpose at a time when we need to rally together and drive forward! If these words/soundbites result in Cortese calling it a day and the Liebher Family withdrawing their patronage of the club, we face the summer of 2009 all over again. Now what would you want ? Do you know of equally affluent and benevolent potential owners out there that could fill this void ??

I wonder how the Tubthumpers feel with an approval rating lower than Rupert !!
