What did he say ?

Afraid thats It for this installment. They won on a technicality and because of an incompetent HMRC brief.. But they will be regarded in a much less favourable light by the footballing world, and there is fun and games to go with servicing their CVA obligations and the Chanrai v Gaydamak scenario might be entertaining. Lets move on and support our much more honourable club! I'm sure the next time we will meet them on the pitch we will thrash them anyway

Oh Yes !!! ROFL....

Just to jump in here, I totally disagree with your assertion. Trolls are generally inconsistent amongst all the other points that TDD has listed and Alpine is anything but that. I regard him as wholly genuine unlike others on here like Dune and SRS who clearly love to wind up.

Funniest Rumours of summer signings from days gone by
Foxstone replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
Not Vasko as watching him against Eastleigh he clearly was nothing special. It was the Dutchman Knol who played a friendly against Woking and despite looking decent, and also that idiot George was clearly averse to signing defenders at the time, both Alps and I were pretty ****ed off that we passed on him. -
That Helioglobus chap comments well and is patently ignored by the heads in sand mob around him ! Is he a SWF member I wonder???
-
Totally agree with that ! He would be a fantastic acquisition if we could nail him - Sadly for us, I think he will better options elsewhere.
-
My local WElcomes kids but not geared up for them particularly. Great pub though

When we have signed the best right back, the best left back and the best forwards in this league over the last 12 months I do not feel a measly £3 extra to help fund those purchases is a rip off at all. Quite the opposite in fact - If we want success and promotion then the fans are being asked to chip in a bit extra too. Perfectly sensible in my view
-
Chuffed to bits with this signing Great job NC
-
Now on the other thread you are convinced that we are not being bankrolled ! So unless we raise some revenue in other ways how do we pay for the best manager and coaching set up in Div 3? Two of the top scorers in Div 3 - In fact most of the best players in Div 3? You can't have it always.
-
Yes but we also have a decent championship expenditure aswell.... And with the quality of our playing staff, managerial staff and coaching staff that is plain for all to see too ! I am convinced that we have been bankrolled to a large degree - Otherwise how can our gates and third tier ( not championship) division TV income pay for all this quality we have acquired in the past 12 months - Unless of course we are doing a Poopey and not paying the taxman !!!

No problem with any of the business decisions made. As for communicating with fans, it depends on your own individual view. Cortese likes to do so in a measured manner at a time and place of his choosing. Fine we know that and many of us accept that.
-
Not at all ! I too saw through that blithering idiot early on ! But thousands were swept up by his "fan friendly rhetoric and bull" only to be thoroughly let down when it had all the substance of an empty crisp packet. At least with Cortese we know what to expect - Professional decision making to meet the strategy set. Not compromise and appeasement that puts us off course.
-
I want to see us come out with the confidence and attacking verve of the German National Side - And get the show on the road quickly ! I would imagine NC would want the same too, so any safety first pussy footing from AP is likely to be as welcome as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip form the Leadership aswell as the fans !
-
His record so far suggests that it is not likely.
-
Strongly disagree! If he appears cold and uncaring as opposed to warm/cuddly fan friendly "lets go Wilde" and others, then thats fine by me. It means his decision making is dis-passionate and not based on emotion and is therefore likely to be spot on.
-
Cortese without a doubt... He builds to a cohesive strategy and has a clear vision towards what must be achieved and by when ! Rupert's vision was nothing more than "Boss Eyed" in comparison
-
With the derision that lot of overpaid prima-donnas deserve. I hope they all watched Gazza's Tears programme on Sunday night and suddenly realised what playing with pride and passion for your country actually means !
-
Schweinsteiger and Muller certainly but also impressed by Forlan, Annan, Snejder and Riveiros and Alcaraz of Paraguay.
-
Glad he is back supporting the club but also glad he is'nt part of its leadership too. I appreciate all his commitment and the financial help he gave to the club, and I realise he is popular with many fans on here, but I did regard him as part of the problem that saw us lurch from one boardroom crisis to another over a 3 year period. Thankfully in my opinion we got the clean sweep we needed. Nevertheless I hope he enjoys being back home at SMS as a committed and loyal supporter.

Agree with you there Robbie my old friend. We were in deep doo doo under previous regimes that almost saw us cease to exist These guys have not only saved us from that but they are building an infrastructure and soundly costed future for us that would be the envy of all clubs outside the Prem, and possibly a few within the Prem. Right now I am prepared to cut them any slack, and cannot envisage this changing in the forseeable future

Great Kit. Much more flattering than the stripes for those of us with beerguts!
