I have been bemoaning this all the way back to the first Wilde "Revolution "when Burley was in charge. I recall commenting at the time that while Wolves scouts were unearthing talent like Kightly and Keogh, our scouts seemed more attuned to "Bob-a-Job" than discovering football talent. How good it is to hear that this vitally important function is being positively addressed.

Ah I see - Another friend re-united (perhaps into one) Perhaps mention to the vineyards of naboth too next time

Most amusing But perhaps the word "insect" might attribute the letter towards the poster known as "Scooby" Strange there was no mention of the lunatic fringe either.

I wonder whether the first purchase of this new affluent regime is to buy Rasiak !
-
All champions though ! Its all relative - MLT might not have been world class in the same breath as Zidane and Maradona but he was certainly Prem class, and he was our Prem Class orchestrator and one of the finest Brit creators the Prem league has ever seen !

Rotund ? - Well so was Maradona Lazy at times? - Well so were Hoddle and Zidane. Naturally gifted players with the ability to create for their team mates and produce moments of genius, do not have to run around like out of control boxer dogs to justify their worth. They are the conductors of the orchestra! And MLT was our own Zubin Mehta !

No problem provided he keeps the opposition centre-backs busy - And he certainly did that.

An excellent performance against a very strong Brum side filled with Internationals. I would imagine Pards will focus heavily on those facts and get across to the team - " See - Look what we can do" ! Worth a tenner and a very timely match to instill some much needed confidence into the squad. I wonder what we could have done if Hammond and Trotman were available to play too as Thomas was our weak spot.

Certainly been on the rumour mill, so your assessment could well be correct. Remember him playing a positive role in Bournemouth's good run a couple of seasons ago.

It would seem there is a "post cross" and UP has answered my question.

Matty is an untouchable regardless of the Pinnacle situation ! Did he make any reference to how he feels about the new regime under ML/NC ?
-
Bloody Hell ! Please tell me you are not one of the (thankfully) increasingly diminishing number of people who believe football is the preserve of the working class, and that so called middle class interlopers like myself should stick to Rugby ? If so, your socio-demographic attitudes are no better than Ruperts!

Sadly Wes I fear we might. Wotton seems to have been one of the players targetted for AP's reasoned critique in recent weeks but he seemingly does not rate Gillett enough to pick him over the old lag !
-
Sounds like he is homesick for the land of flat caps, pigeons and ferrets ! I don't think our Southern Hampshire air will help him settle anymore than that found in Essex - So no i don't think HCDAJFU !
-
Sorry I just think this whole thread is making mountains out of molehills ! People post any news, rumour, intelligence, whatever - and its there for debate, counter-argument or even outright disagreement, depending how strongly you feel. Not everybody agrees or wants to leap on any particular bandwagon just because somebody in particular posts it - credible poster or not. Even credible posters are not right all the time ( Anybody remember Saint Marc) !! Lets keep things in perspective shall we.

On MOTD last night they were commenting on Spuds reaching 9 points in 3 games and comparing them to last season when it took them to November to reach the same amount. They of course finished the second half of the season strongly to finish in 8th place. Hull of course hit a major collapse and did not win jack ****e after xmas after starting so very well. Different teams and circumstances of course, but the message is the same. Do not write anybody in or off after only 4 games - Especially in our case where our pre-season preparation is actually happening now once the season has started!!!! It will come good I'm sure.

I really must point out those Brighton idiots ( Bellotti ?) who flogged the Goldstone Ground for gain without having a viable alternative lined up! Of all the crass director decisions made by a whole raft of crass directors at any number of clubs ( Rupert et al included) - That is by far and away the worst.
-
The decision making and judgement abilities of all the 3 (erstwhile) amigo's was to put it mildly - Somewhat lacking on many demonstrable occasions! I am absolutely over the moon that none of them has a position of power at the club anymore, and that we have in Liebherr and Cortese, 2 people who have shown more nouse in how to run a football club in 6 weeks than we have seen over the past 6 years ( longer in fact)! We were indeed very fortunate that they did'nt go away once Pinnacle gained exclusivity, and despite our poor start which I attribute to us not having a pre-season at all, I think we have a bright future to look forward to.
-
Hear Hear ! I have hated the phrase " We have got our club back" ever since the blithering idiot Wilde first uttered it - But at this moment under ML's and NC's stewarship, it all of a sudden sounds right!
-
As were Sunderland a couple of seasons back ( 3 of their first choice defenders in their impressive run-in were loanees), and WBA and Stoke... etc, etc ! Loans can work just as well but without the risk of splashing out on a long contract for somebody with only half a heart ( Saga anybody)?
-
Or indeed a Prem level Manager ! We have spent more cash in attracting Pardew and Lambert than at any time during the past couple of years or so... Don't see what you are getting at Rebel..
-
I don't think you have a lucid one !
-
Think I understand now why he developed such a beergut and played as though he was permanently ****ed!

Headless chicken in a Grey Seals coat !!
