Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
LuckyNumber7 replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Like many of our players he seems to think he's way better than he actually is. He's been here for nearly four years and has been mostly poor in that time and if it's true he left before the end then that's very arrogant and disrespectful. Let's not forget he 'earning' tens of thousands of pounds a week. I would be happy not to see him in a Saints shirt again. -
It's about the journey not the destination. I don't think Shanghai Saint is alone in thinking the Premier League isn't much fun.
-
Totally this. It was the fans that were left in the stadium uniting and showing some defiance and pride in our club, not the the players on the pitch. As proven by the frosty reception given to the players when they tried to go round applauding the fans afterwards. In fact there were plenty of songs about past players. As fans we will always be here, the shower of ****e representing us on Friday are only passing through. Don't confuse pride in the club with support for the players.
-
Very saddened to hear this news, he stepped in in our hour of need because he genuinely cared and without him we may very well not have a club to support. Never really got the credit he deserved in a very turbulent time for Saints. R.I.P Leon.

Great post, spot on! I really don't understand the posts on here trying to play it down, it's bizarre. When I heard who we had been drawn against I got such a rush of adrenaline and been buzzing ever since, nothing is better than beating that lot to the east. Who cares what division they're in ffs!

Ralph is absolutely the best thing about this club at the moment. Such a shame that he is having to work with both hands tied behind his back. I dread the day he leave.
-
What a huge disappointment he has been. I was genuinely excited when we signed him but he doesn't even look like a footballer, literally no redeeming features. Certainly battling with Carillo for our worst ever signing. Hopefully he can do enough up there to earn a permanent transfer somewhere next summer.
-
Good for him.

I can only assume you're not from Southampton as you don't appear to get the rivalry. It matters not a jot what league they are in, all that matters is it's Portsmouth against Southampton and for me and I suspect many others it is the biggest game of the season. Games like this are what supporting Saints is all about, and 'winning in itself' means everything. Very strange post.

I thought he was good personally, reminds me a bit of Troy Deeney.
-
Despite the usual £££s spent, West Ham have looked as useless as ever. Albeit against a very good team.
-
Never seen Danso play but I signed him for Saints on Fifa and he was pretty good! Young, strong and pacey. No idea what he's like in real life but in Ralph we trust.

No ill feeling from me, he's clearly not good enough for this level any more but scored some important goals in his time here and will always remember the 'Park Life' rant last season. Now it appears we've got our money back. Personally don't give a toss about the stuff he's put on social media, seen much worse. Just hope we still have time to get someone in now. Thanks and good luck Charlie. -
I've never been his biggest fan as a player but he improved leaps and bounds last season, and also appears to have a great attitude which is refreshing. Well done to Nathan for the strides he's made and good news for the club, although as said above the timing feels like a bit of a distraction from the probable lack of incomings today.

Rogic is a good player, certainly much better than Armstrong. My main reservation over him is he struggles to play 90 minutes. Also it's now on the BBC that Turnbull has rejected Celtic's offer. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48643240
-
Absolutely this. The ones moaning are probably the same ones who sit in near silence for 90 minutes. The atmosphere at most grounds in Europe puts the Premier League to shame and anything that could improve the atmosphere at SMS would get my support.
-
I thought the video was pretty clever actually, and some good acting by Ralph! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48310994 Agree with others' comments about the black panel ruining the home kit although it probably looks better in person. Really like the yellow and black away.

Absolutely gutted to lose like that but so proud of the team, they all put in a great shift and that performance should give us belief that we can stay up. Have to say JWP is finally starting to look like a proper player who knows his role in the team, and an England call up wouldn't be undeserved. Valery continuing to improve and grow in confidence game by game, cracking goal. Well played Saints, hold your heads high.
-
Stephens is an absolute liability, ten times worse than Hoedt. Nowhere near being a PL defender. We can't defend and can't score goals, very difficult to see how we're going to stay up.
-
I don't blame Ralph at all for our predicament, he is clearly a good manager but has been given a very weak squad to work with. My only real gripe so far is his treatment of Gabbiadini and if we weren't going to replace him we should have kept him. We just have no-one to score the goals we need. Of course injuries to key players haven't helped.
-
I think everyone realises he was too good for us and wouldn't be here long term, it's the way he went about orchestrating the move and making out the club was in the wrong that is the reason he is hated. And you say we should have flogged him sooner, yet every time we've done that before most on here ***** and moan that we're not holding onto our best players etc. At least with VVD the club tried to make a stand and I admired them for that, whatever they do they can't win.

No, where did I say that? It was a stupid thing to do but getting arrested for it is absolutely ridiculous and a complete waste of police time.
-
Amongst all the doom and gloom from yesterday, the one big positive to come out of that game was Valery's performance. Thought he was excellent all round and just looked to have a lot more confidence. Good defensively and far more of a threat going forward than we have seen so far. Shame he didn't score with that run into the box but a very encouraging performance.
-
Christ, what a ridiculous over reaction. Obviously a pretty tasteless and stupid thing to do, but the most worrying aspect for me is that they actually got arrested for it. Half the time the police can't be bothered to investigate actual crimes, yet they arrest two blokes for waving their arms around? Aside from that, the minute's silence was impeccably observed by 30000+ but of course that doesn't make headlines.
