  1. Rugby is ****.
  2. Typical of today's society where people are looking to get offended by anything and get everything banned. It's just a word ffs and besides, the more it is used the less of an impact it has. There are far more important issues in the world for people to get their knickers in a twist about.
  3. How on Earth is this guy a professional manager? The team selection and tactics actually beggard belief, or would have done if we hadn't already seen it so many times this season. He is utterly clueless. PLEASE get rid or we are down, no question.
  4. Today was the first time in a long long while where it felt like there was a togetherness between the players and fans. A good battling performance and plenty of spirit on and off the pitch which was encouraging. We will need plenty of that if we're to have a chance of staying up.
  5. Yes how dare we sing nasty songs about our rivals, much better to chant against our own club!
  6. How on Earth has Puel turned into some kind of managerial god in the eyes of some? Whatever he did or is doing at other clubs is totally irrelevant as it doesn't change what he did here. Top half finish should be par for this squad. 8th place was fine on the face of it, but we finished only 6 points ahead of fourth bottom, and a massive 23 points behind 6th (where we finished previous season). That tells you far more about how the season went as opposed to just banging on about how great an achievement it was to finish 8th. In this case it was a fine line between upper mid table and being in a relegation battle. He threw the FA Cup. He failed in (arguably threw) the Europa League. We scored less than a goal a game at home and played mind numbing defensive football. His one saving grace was the League Cup run, and we played well in the final, but let's not pretend we didn't beat some poor/weakened sides to get there (Liverpool aside). For me the writing was on the wall and whilst I don't think Puel would have got us relegated I think we would have been lower mid-table with him and still playing the mind numbing football. Neither he or Pellegrino have been good appointments and it's that lack of a strong manager which has got us where we are today imo.
  7. This 100%, amen brother! Makes it all the sweeter though if we somehow manage to pull off the impossible...
  8. Without doubt a new manager because we could sign Messi and still go down under this clown. Any competent manager should be able at the very least to avoid relegation with the players we have so I wouldn't be too bothered about new players in this window. New manager in now and then major squad surgery in the summer.
  9. If he wants out I don't blame him one bit, the way he has been treated by our idiot of a manager is a disgrace.
  10. Austin Hoedt Hojbjerg In that order. Would have Hoj above Hoedt but he hasn't really played enough games yet, although you could probably say the same of Austin. Not exactly spoiled for choice are we.
  11. There is a very real chance we will be in the bottom three by the time we kick off against Spurs. I want MP gone as much as anyone but we need to get behind the team as much as possible to give ourselves a chance, we have 15 cup finals now. Who knows maybe we'll have a new manager by then anyway...
  12. Excellent first half, terrible second half. Once again the negative safety first tactics have come back to bite us and we got everything we deserved. Yes it should have been handball but they should have had a penalty before that anyway for the shirt pull by Romeu. No excuse for that performance drop in the second half. Get this clown out now before it's too late.
  13. Completely agree with that. I would genuinely hate to be a Man City fan, they look like a club who have sold their soul.
  14. Yes, because there's no way the papers could be lying is there. But let's go ahead and slate the club anyway. Even if it is true, staged payments are perfectly normal procedure and we would buy our players in exactly the same way. Very few transfers involve paying the whole fee up front, particularly ones of this size.
  15. And if we did that you'd have plenty on here accusing the club of taking the cheap option etc! Whatever they do they can't win. Walcott is a proven quality player with connections to the club and would give the whole place a lift, really hope it happens.
  16. Even more negative than usual, un****ingbelievable. Gabbi must be well and truly ****ed off.
  17. Couldn't care less tbh, he's one of the few who actually looks like he gives a toss and has a bit of character about him. Give me that over a constantly miserable looking, half arsed prima donna any day.
  18. You got Austin and Bertrand round the wrong way.
  19. I don't agree our atmosphere has always been crap, but it is now and getting worse. I agree with Hypo about our relegation season, that 4-3 game against Norwich in particular the atmosphere was incredible and probably helped play a part in the win, but it just feels different now, it doesn't feel like we are all in it together. The flat, turgid atmosphere is a reflection of the flat, turgid football that we've been served up for the last 18 months and apathy has crept in in a big way. Unfortunately going to SMS now is a chore and not an enjoyable experience, and there is also very little bond between the fans and players. After the events of the last few years it just feels like all players are just passing through and don't really care, it's very hard to get behind that. Personally I'd like less songs about the players and more about the club/city, but first we need to somehow get rid of this wave of apathy that seems to prevail.
  20. Please get rid of this negative, clueless clown whilst our season is still salvageable. Sick of seeing constant backwards passing and players giving the 'slow it down' gesture all the time, Pied even did it to a ballboy early in the second half for him daring to try and hurry things up. It's like any form of positivity or excitement is forbidden at SMS. Absolutely awful to watch. Aside from Long's ballooned shot I can barely remember us getting near their goal in the second half. He surely has to go now.
  21. Bringing Theo back would give a real and much needed boost to the whole club and would be a significant improvement to the squad. Really hope it happens, come home Theo!
  22. Agree with every word of this. Now before we go buying any players, let's get in a competant manager who will command the respect of the players and get them playing to their full potential.
  23. Lol, yes how dare the fans moan because the team are failing to score goals, I mean that's only like the most important part of football right? I went to the cup final and you are right, it was entertaining and we were unlucky not to win. I also went to every home game and came away from the vast majority of them feeling bored stiff and demoralised about the way the team were set up to just not lose. How many games did you attend I wonder? I still find it amazing that we managed to finish 8th, but that just shows how much utter dross there is in this league.
  24. VvD aside, I can't remember the last time I disliked a Saints player so much. A combination of his complete lack of ability and his terrible attitude and demeanour on the pitch. It is one of the biggest indictments of the manager that such a poor player has had so much game time despite being consistently awful. That said I don't agree with booing him although I do understand people's frustrations. Personally I would love to see him sold next month but I'm not sure anyone would be daft enough to buy him.
  25. There's a reason we were disappointed when he left. Whilst I'm not 100% in favour, there's hardly an abundance of good managers out there who would be willing to come here, he did a good job for us and I wouldn't be against him returning.
