  1. One of the more blatant ones at that. We dodged a bullet there until 30 seconds from the end.
  2. Some on here think they know it all yet they will be the first to moan at Long, Austin, Valery playing in the two positions we obviously needed to strengthen. Oh wait, we gad a right back didn’t we ? Portuguese international wasn’t it ? Not good enough to even act as cover apparently !!
  3. Squad reduction mate, too obsessed with reducing numbers and therefore options.
  4. I’m hoping Bertrand, PEH and Yoshida are all fit to come back in. I’m not expecting Ings to be fit so presumably Long gets the nod up front.......oh joy
  5. thats for sure
  6. Presumably Yoshida will be back next week in place of that bloody liability Stephens. Have been saying for the past two years he isn’t good enough and would probably make an average holding midfield player. But as for CB - forget it !
  7. yes but it’s ok cos we have a smaller and more manageable squad - just think of all those wages the club is saving
  8. He wasn’t great on Wednesday and we did ok when he was suspended. Interesting that the first choice right back has been dropped and we are making do with JWP out of position or Stephens. Thank god we didn’t sign one eh?
  9. Well I have more faith in Charlie scoring the odd important goal than I do Moi or Gallagher. If it’s 0-0 v Cardiff and Austin is sent on with 15 mins left and scores the only goal of the game all of a sudden he will be a bloody hero to the ones who write him off as crap
  10. you are straw clutching
  11. what happened to all this “we have learned from our mistakes” bull crap we were fed after last season? utter shambles, I cannot believe we have not got anyone in. Still time I guess but any optimism is going as the minutes tick down
  12. Funny how we all see the same game differently. I thought Valery was good, Romeu was our best player and JWP was ok. Stephens was shocking, Hojbjerg strangely off form, Redmond and Ings marked out of it by Palace.
  13. oh they are gonna love him arent they ?
  14. He wouldn’t understand that, I think it’s at least two people using the same name given the number of contradictory statements “he” makes
  15. He’s playing for Birmingham tonight
  16. He’s a goal scorer, if you play a system where all he has to do is get his arse in the penalty box at every opportunity he will score goals. Doesn’t surprise me if four clubs are in for him.
  17. I must say I like the look of Johnson against Derby. Put in some decent crosses. Shame he got booked and taken off half time. Valery will be good, would like to see Hesketh given a chance, same with Sims. Obafemi will be good if he works on his finishing and, going by what Ralph said, his fitness too. I’m really not sure about Gallagher and Slattery. Admittedly only seen bits and pieces of them but if Ralph thinks they are good enough that will do me.
  18. To be fair Warnock's style would probably suit him.
  19. This. Its ok though cos we wont get anymore injuries and wont need back up players, let alone experienced pros if things go tits up results wise in the next couple of months.
  20. or to look at it another way - if Valery loses his head against Zaha and gets sent off again who is covering right back ? An 18 yr old who just isn’t ready yet ? When Ings gets injured again, and he will, would you rather have Gabbi or Gallagher to call on ? If you are selling these players then fine BUT if you are loaning them out for a few months to save on wages and not bringing anyone in because these players could well be back on the wage bill come May then that is a risky game to play with the clubs immediate future.
  21. Lets just hope for all our sakes the shifting on, albeit all as loans, of these players doesn’t bite us on the ass and cocky posters don’t end up looking even more stupid.
  22. He won’t be coming here before the summer at least.
  23. unless I’m reading too much into it there won’t be a new right back coming in until at least the summer. Valery/Ramsay it is then..........brave call I think
  24. No i do "get it" and to be honest I was ok with what was going on up until Cedric. I think losing him and Austin is one step too far. Trim by all means - especially in the summer as I said - but bare bones in a relegation battle is very brave. A couple of injuries and what happens then ? Ramsay or Cedric come in - umm, let me think ? No choice now though is there !
  25. BUT all are experienced and seasoned pros who - possibly with the exception of Hoedt - all add something to a squad in relegation trouble. Its all very well selling these established pros who are on over blown wages to bring in money to strengthn but we havent, we have loaned them out in an effort to save what, in the scheme of things, is peanuts. A squad over haul in the summer is brilliant, just what we need but to get rid of some of these players in January to save a few quid is a dangerous exercise unless a couple of faces do come in by the end of Thursday. If we have a bad run and the kids go to bits the team will be calling out for old heads who can come in, do a job, and settle the nerves. Relegation would cost a hell of a lot more than the savings they are making over the next few months especially if this lot come back in May because they arent wanted. I think the board are being naieve.
