Would the manager really be meeting a potential new signing at the airport ? Wouldn't that job fall to club officials who would then whisk him off to meet Les Reed and maybe Koeman ? i suspect he was meeting his wife who had probably spent the weekend with their kids !

All depends how he gets on in his first few games. LVG doesnt seem to do patience very well and as has been said there will be plenty ready to jump into his shoes if he doesnt perform......not all players handle the Man Utd pressure well, although I think Morgan will be ok. I dont care either way now hes gone, I dont wish him bad but Im not going to fall over myself to praise him either. I have become too cynical with the modern player to be honest.

Thats all very well Roger but in your "change course, mid to lower prem club" budget how do you explain the club going out and appointing what has been the highest profile manager in the clubs 130 year history ? That alone does not smack of a club settling for 10-15th place every year and being happy with it as were probably were a few years back under Askham and those before him, Woodford etc etc

Im not so sure he will but if he does he needs to be a lot better than he was for long spells last season. In fairness to him I'm not sure how all these England tournaments he seems to be involved in during the summer months help him. I would have preferred he had a summer off and see how he gets on with a rest behind him.

My big fear is that if United do get their number one target Morgan has left himself relying on Arsenal and Wenger, the way they operate they will come in during the last days of the window and we will be stuffed! i still believe he will end up at Arsenal, what would be funny is if United do sign Morgan then get Schweinsteiger afterwards. Morgan to United just doesn't feel right to me, they just look to be hedging their bets and watching and hoping Schweinsteiger gives them the green light.......then again I believed Clarkey when he kept saying Spurs and Toby didn't feel right !!

and for those that don't get it this is exactly why we will not be a top 6 club on a regular, if at all, basis! No bottomless pit, club run as a business self supporting itself which is why we will always have to sell to bring in any really high quality established players who at best just replace the quality we have had to let go cos United, Arsenal, Liverpool and bloody Spurs come calling !

Its such a shame that Sky Sports News has resorted to being a TV version of The Sun/Daily Star/Daily Mirror all rolled into one. With their excellent coverage of live sport they really should be aiming higher than this on their flagship Sports News channel.
