Last player to be transferred from Southampton to Man City?
beatlesaint replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Didn't they buy one of the Mills brothers from us ? Matt Mills is it ? other than that Phil Boyer and Graham Baker in the early eighties are the last ones I can think of too. -
this guy has basically screwed them up by making too many changes and losing their best player. It always takes at least a dozen games to get so many changes settled in to a team.......oh, wait, no that's not true anymore is it ?

I would love to know what Lovren, Lallana and to a lesser extent Rickie think when they hear our results and look at the league table. Not the bull crap for the press, Lallana's "delighted for them" quote from the other week but what they actually think, they must talk about it in training etc.
-
Yes I agree, they don't seem to have worked out he has a great football brain and is much better than just being at the end of one of Stevie G's oh so bloody marvellous 40 yd hit and hope passes !
-
totally agree, my sentiments exactly.

Good that we have no mid week match, chance for players to shake off the fatigue that three tough matches will have bought.

Pochettino asks Levy to sign Jay Rodriguez
beatlesaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I cannot believe Levy would sign a player for big money who has been out for 6 months with a major injury before knowing and seeing he is as good as he was before that injury. I would also like to believe that Jay feels he owes Southampton for nursing him back to health but my confidence in footballers having any sort of loyalty or scruples was badly hit during the summer. -
Because from the mid 70s for about 15 years it truly was......but you would have to be old like me to know that
-
As stated above Harry doesn't do much of the training. I would be asking him what all his mates, Jordan and Bond in particular, actually do and why just one of them is incapable of getting the players fit !

CONFIRMED: Rodriguez ruptures ACL - out for SIX months

RK appears to agree too more importantly -
Totally agree. Be interesting to see if the old Harry Houdini line comes out again......

Now is the time to say show our sincere gratitude
beatlesaint replied to croydonsaint's topic in The Saints
They appear to have all done us a favour by leaving. Who would have thought it back in Black July !! -
Club and that will never change.
-
well your summary is brilliant !
-
Are you sure you didn't watch it ?
-
So not getting into your club side every week because there are better players at that club is more beneficial than playing against these better than England can pick players every week in The Premiership then ? jesus, if he really believes that then what hope is there for the national side or players outside the so called big clubs to develop ? They can't all play for the top clubs, especially when they are attracting the biggest names in World football to play for them !!
-
Only Rickie had left by the time he did and we had upgraded the manager from an Argie best known for bringing down Owen in the World Cup to a guy who has a playing pedigree that would be pretty hard to beat. Actually there was another lie. Adam was looking forward to speaking to Koeman. Presumably that conversation consisted of the word "Bye" Change your mind yes, lie through your teeth and kick up like a small child no !
-
Didnt he also arrange for the Accrington fans who travelled down to a postponed game against that shower down the road to come across to St Mary's to watch a Premiership match ? Sounds like his arrogant days are well behind him. Good luck to him, some on here make him sound like the devil incarnate.
-
good question. Given he is now supposedly out unti December/January and it will take him a further 3 months probably to get up to speed after such a long lay off I would be signing it now if I was him. Nobody is gonna want him until they know he is the player he was before the injury so I would think its his best form of security.

might be too young, it does say players you have seen
-
Niemi Golac Nicholl Monkou Dennis Le Tissier Williams Ball Bale Lambert Pahars Subs - Flowers, Clyne, M. Svennson, Keegan, Channon, Boyer, Schniderlin
-
Would have been a good signing at half the price but at 12 million the pressure is on to deliver a bit. Give him time, remember Jay Rod hardly set the place alight for the first three or four months he was here.
-
Spot on, if Rogers is such a clever bugger you would have thought he would know Rickie needs game time regularly. Any Saints supporter who has ever seen Rickie play knows he takes time to find his best form. He won't get it there and will ultimately be written off as a flop. Shame, he deserves better.

It's Lallana's dream to sit on the bench in a Champions League game. Make the most of it, will all be over by December
