  1. Exactly right. We don't need the money so let him see if he likes playing for the reserves for a few months.
  2. You think that Reed and Koeman dont talk then ? MP and Reed spoke everyday, both said that, so I would think its the same with Koeman. Transfer kitty has come from the prize/Sky money for finishing 8th hasn't it ? Add to that the players departures which has gone straight into that pot. The reason they want out is because its the big clubs that are chasing them and offering Europe, or in Shaw's case its joining one of the biggest clubs in the World. None of them have jumped ship or are threatening to for a move to Aston Villa, Stoke or West Ham are they ? Now that would be a major concern.
  3. I think most of them drag on. Unless you study other clubs as closely as Saints the first you normally hear about a transfer is on Sky or in the paper and quite often even then it takes a few days to actually get over the line. I used to think it was a Cortese thing where he was such a hard bargainer but it seem not. And of course once the player is not playing in the UK that immediately slows it down, or thats how it looks.
  4. Going by the yellow taxi in one of the photos and a couple of the shops I would have said that was in Bournemouth and not Southampton.
  5. Well as it seems Lallana and Shaw were done deals before Koeman arrived that was never likely, despite Lallana's downright lie in front of a BBC camera saying that he was looking forward to meeting Koeman. As for Lovren and Morgan we have no way of knowing that they will not talk to Koeman. Lovren is on holiday so as yet there is no evidence of strike action and Morgan was only knocked out the World Cup just over 12 hours ago. If I was Lovren I would love the opportunity to play under a manager who was one of the best and reached the highest level playing in my position, so much you could learn. But most footballers do not think like that. We need to see how those two, especially Morgan, play out over the next couple of weeks.
  6. Its what I would do without a doubt. These prima donnas at every club not just ours need stamping down on !
  7. Wouldn't it have Veho written on it or has Kat got her ironing board ready to iron the transfer on a few hundred shirts ? At least its got stripes..........
  8. Thats it is it ? He could have saved a few quid and taken a 4 line message under Births, Deaths and Marriages for that ! Stupidly I thought it would have slightly more content than that
  9. Everything said by the above posts mate. You are in the minority I think. Not his PR advisor are you ? ;-)
  10. He's probably struggling with his goodbye letter !
  11. Much like Rickie who took his goalscoring through three divisions.
  12. He spent the past week in Holland improving his English, he wasn't on holiday !!!
  13. Try telling Everton fans that links them with Liverpool FC
  14. If it is true and he chooses to go on strike then fine let him. Legally would he have a leg to stand on ? Would the PFA support a one man strike who's sole reason is that despite signing a four year contract he has decided after one year he wants to move on ? How detailed are players contracts ? Is there a clause whereby if you withdraw your services you dont get paid as you are in effect breaking that contract ? Is there any difference between that and you or I walking in to work tomorrow and saying "Now that Milie has left in Accounts I dont like it here anymore therefore I'm staging a one man strike, see ya" If he throws his toys out the pram this Board arent strong enough to call his bluff, they will cash in, we will hear how this is a great bit of business for Saints cos Jos is ready to step up to the plate after a poor couple of years etc etc. But its what they should do, dont be held to ransom by a effin player, make the guy look a bloody idiot.
  15. Yeah the U18's is the most likely job for him if there is any truth in it. Probably a chance to groom the best ones for a move to Liverpool
  16. I dont think its bizarre all these players want to leave but I do think your reason is incorrect. Lets look at the aways or supposed want aways - Lambert, Lallana, Shaw, Lovren and Morgan. What have they all got in common ? They are all current internationals, they are all mixing with a bunch of Billy Big Balls who are turning their heads, talking about life at a big club, the Champions league etc etc. Rickie virtually admitted that the wonderful Stevie G had been in his ear about Liverpool, Rogers congratulated him after his England debut etc. Thats the bloody problem, these International call ups are a bad thing for clubs like us. Morgan was talking of going in a bid to get into the France squad. Ok, he is there now, he has played so that should be the end of it. But no, he will now want CL football to maintain his place in the French team/squad. No doubt he and the rest are encouraged to seek out the bigger clubs cos we all know playing for England etc is so much more advantageous when playing for one of the big boys. And I suspect its no different for France, Croatia, any of them.
  17. Why do you think we would rely on him as the main source of goals if the talk of Pelle coming in is true ? Surely Ings would be one of the three or four strikers we would look to have ?
  18. Yes, for those who cannot understand why Lallana is getting so much stick then for me this is the answer. That was said just over a year ago if memory serves.
  19. Yet you were impressed by Ralph ? I think people have been spoiled by the fact in the last four years we have, up to a month ago, only sold Chamberlain of the players we wanted to keep. How many other clubs have kept hold of their players for so long in todays game ? Even Man Utd sold Ronaldo. It was always going to happen, especially once we reached the publicity glare of the Premiership again, even Cortese said in that BBC interview something to the effect he would have tried to get the players to give it another year. Then this same situation would have arisen. Given the number of poor/average teams in the league this coming season I fully expect us even with a virtually new team to stay well above the bottom three. Think yourself lucky we aren't WBA !
  20. Fkin arrogance of some of these big team players is incredible.
  21. But we haven't gone down the WBA route for a manager and we haven't seen what pedigree of player he will bring in yet !
  22. I reckon. This is becoming ****in tiresome I know that much !
  23. Well that should be a given for any players we end up selling. We don't need to sell, we can do it as and when it suits us. We hold all the cards now as opposed to a few years back when we needed the money.
