As I said in the previous thread it is useless match days - when we are away at least, cant comment on home games cos I'm there......sometimes you dont get the team on there until the game has kicked off - the "match facts" bit is a waste of time, you may as well incorporate that in the match report. I also cant decide if the Echo is copying the website or vice versa. It was so much better when it was "in house"......surely someone at the club could take it back in and keep it updated. Hell i will do it for a salary of £20-25k......so if anyone at the club is reading this.....

I second that......the match coverage has been abysmal since it went out of the club's control.....sometimes you dont even get the line ups before kick off. Its very poor these days unfortunately.

Not according to the back of this weeks edition it is not. Clearly states, bottom right hand corner - ...and printed at Newsquest (Southern) Ltd from its offices at Newspaper House, Test Lane, Redbridge, Southampton. Doesnt mention the echo printing site on The Granby in Weymouth at all.

I think he probably looked better than he really is last year when we were, not to put too fine a point on it, **** poor. But this year he has been left wanting.

I can vouch for that......both the garage and the newsagents at the bottom of my road stock it on a Sunday morning.......they dont have many copies each admittedly but they both sell it. Will be a shame, especially for those of us who dont get the Southampton Echo during the week.

Thats lovely to read. You tend to know things are getting better when you read an honest assesment from somebody who has no links or ties to the club.

I think if you are prepared to view this season as a "building" season that has the aim to storm this league next season you will not be disappointed. If you are viewing it as "make the play-offs" it may end in misery for you. If we do make the play offs then that will be a huge huge bonus after starting -10. But to me, as soon as that penalty was imposed the real life situation was "ok, stay up and build for next year" If the plan is Premiership in 5 years, which Cortese has stated then I would think those in charge of the club view it the same way to be honest. Nobody knows, if we do go on a run of games where we just keep winning then its possible. But I think we are more in the relms of building slowly to be realistic.

The above 2 posts by 19C sum this guy up perfectly for me. Whilst a football match was going on which we were all following on the thread, or BBC text, or Solent etc this clown was posting away on this thread probably spouting more bile aimed towards whoever hefeels like at any particular time. As its blocked by me I cannot read what he is saying, nor do i care.....but FFS get a life man and move on......hey do you know we won a game of football tonight ?

Even when you have 19C on your ignore list - the only poster I have ever done it to - he still keeps turning up when people quote him !! To question MLT's personal integrity is ludicrous. Question the integrity of some unsrupulus individuals who have waltzed into this club and raped it of its dignity, pride and passion by all means.....I'm sure we can all think of one......but to question one whose loyalty has been exempt and beyond reproach is pathetic. Yeah they seem to like him......pretty decent bunch of supporters up there too.

For this league that is a fantastic signing. Gone for big money in the past, scored everywhere he has played, mainly in Championship and Premier League.....if he stays fit we are really on to something here. Papa on the wing, Lallana in the hole and Lambert and Connolly up front. Awesome

Its nice to see a picture of what he looks like at least. Possibly the most expendable member of our squad.
