  1. So when people on here slag off Lynam, in reality as he was acting as nothing more than the middle man or broker, he was conned as much as MLT and Leon Crouch. Could people kindly remember that then before telling him to **** off from this site etc. You wouldnt tell Matt to go forth so spare this guy who was genuinally, i believe, doing what he thought was right and proper for the future of SFC.

    Harding

I thought he looked good both going forward and defensively......certainly not bad for a first game. Mind you he is a left footer playing as a left back which at Southampton is almost unheard of these days
  3. With all due respect that is a ridiculous statement.
  4. Jermaine Wright is much better than Wotton.
  5. Not at all....but I think you may have jumped the gun a little. Lets see if the situation is no better 2 weeks from today - then you may have a point but AP has had one week, there are two more before the season starts.......more to the point lets see what the squad looks like when the transfer window closes on 31 August.
  6. Fortune would be a good signing too. Played for Charlton in the Prem, must still be quite a young age. I think he has had some injury problems but if fit would be good for this League.....and thats what we need to remember, players who would be good for this League cos in reality its probably going to take a minimum of 2 years to get out of it. Players for the Championship and beyond come later
  7. They arent bad for a league One side starting with -10 points
  8. AP would not have been attracted here without being told there will be money to spend as and when he wants it, within a sensible bracket of course. You arent going to go on TV/radio and say "Markus has told me he has 3 billion Euros in his back pocket and I can spend as much as I like" As someone has already mentioned its easy to forget how a club should be run properly after the Keystone Cops we have had for the last few years.

    Skates

It does seem very strange. I couldnt believe it when I heard that last night. And who is Paul Hart going to attract there to replace Johnson, Crouch etc ? Its all looking a bit glum for them...........3 weeks is a long time in football isnt it
  10. If that was gonna happen I doubt he would be playing tonight. I would expect, provided he was any good tonight, that AP will be offering him a contract pretty soon, esp bearing in mind Pilchard's training report from yesterday !
  11. He is playing at Salisbury tonight ! Come on, keep up
  12. He isnt as slow as Lancashire If its between the two of them Perry would be my choice every time.
  13. Glad I'm not the only big girls blouse that started getting weepy eyes
  14. This appointemnt just seems better and better with each passing day. I was in two minds about the Hearts friendly next saturday, not now, I want to see what difference AP makes in just a week.
  15. In fairness Flash could actually shoot towards that netty thing with the posts and cross bar that doesn't move no matter how many games you play And they can come along and stick up for him all they like but in my opinion the boy needs a bloody good talking to and a bit of footballing discipline installed in him, otherwise he will never make it big. One clever bit of footwork in the whole Ajax game does not make him class. I would really love it if he carried on the form/skill he showed at the early part of last season, but it looks to me like he has a hell of a lot of work and learning to do to get back to that let alone push on.
  16. Good stuff. I am particulalry pleased with his stance on discipline. Some of these younger players need that - look how Shearer, Le Tiss, the Wallaces etc turned out after being under Merrington's strict regime - great players and very level headed, sensible men, not one of them walked around like Johnny Big Balls thinking they were the greates thing since sliced bread. Hopefully some of that will rub off on the Lallana's of this world, cos to my eyes that boy needs to be told pretty bloody smartish that he is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is......he could well be exceptional one day, but he isnt very close to that at the moment.
  17. Nineteen Canteen you mean ? Couldn't agree more
  18. If anyone would care to point out to 19C that certainly Mary Corbett pays for her ticket, I think to most its well known that her family have 4 or 5 season tickets and she is far from the free loader that Askham etc are. I am sure Leon Crouch pays as well and if he doesnt dont you think he is entitled to a freebie after keeping the club afloat during the last few months ? You really are a pompus, smug, self indulgent prize pillock 19C As for Lowe.....well when he came before it was because og his shares and his master plan to get back into power. There is no chance of that anymore so what would be the point of him coming ? We wont be playing the type of football he loves so much...best he get a cheap Flybe flight to Holland to watch his football
  19. Stern John - Yes Jason Euell - No altho Euell will probably do ok in this league, he does get stuck in which is whats needed, but I wont lose any sleep if he doesnt want to stay. At least he will be on more realisitc wages for a player of his ability
  20. Amazing isnt it.....as someone said just over 2 weeks ago we looked like the end was in sight for SFC.....now we have a billionaire owner, cheaper season tickets, a manager with a proven track record in this league and the two above it, yet some can still find fault ! FFS............ IMHO the new owner and his staff are yet to put a foot wrong.....and if I buy a programme with a Golden Ticket in then I will start to believe in Father Christmas again
  21. If he can install discipline and get some of these kids fit - cos how a bunch of 18 - 24 year olds can look so knackered after 60 mins still beats me I'm afraid - that will go half way towards getting us out this league. That and about 5 or 6 decent signings. Very good choice - welcome Alan
  22. If we get a half decent manager we will not see Mr Pulis Jnr very much at all one would hope
  23. I think its cos James is not as broad across the chest as Wootton. Still looks a lot better modelling it than BWP did the home kit a few years ago when his lack of shoulders produced a rather disturbing effect
  24. Yet on another thread you make a case for BWP ? Its all opinion I suppose but given the choice of the two (and I'm sure we will lose Saga soon enough) I would keep Saga every time. BWP - ok for 20 mins coming off the bench but asked to play the full game ? Forget it.
