  1. No, you are absolutely right, it makes no logical sense, but if football made logical sense it would be a lot more boring. Leeds going to Man Utd and winning made no logical sense but it happened. I just dont think we will beat them for a fourth time.....obviously i hope i am wrong
  2. Unforutnately I think we will just miss out, probably by about 5 points. Law of averages if nothing else suggests we will not beat MK Dons again.....to beat a team 4 times in one season is one hell of an ask. I think the optimism following one very good result is good, but its only on a par with the over the top negatvivity that was evidient on this board when we drew at Exeter.
  3. Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Everton are 4 of their last 12......I assume you mean the other 8, mainly against teams who are desperate for points like Burnley and Bolton are the easy ones do you ?
  4. Pass............unless he thinks he may get a job there one day.........if they exist.
  5. There have been 4 times this season where Jaidi has played Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday so I really dont see a problem in keeping him in. He has had a period out of the side recently anyway so he cant be tired or unable to play games in succesion I wouldnt have thought. If he cant play though then that should be the only change AP makes. When Connolly is fit I would play him, or alternate him with Barnard. Connolly is by far the cleverest forward we have, is proven in the Premiership, and makes space for Lambert. For once we really do have an embarrassment of riches
  6. I'm sure Millwall thought Wycombe would be an "easier" game too !! Until we have no chance of play offs the only rest Rickie should be getting is dependant on us killing teams off with 20-25 mins to go, then he can be taken off. I would be surprised if AP starts protecting Lambert a little bit until Connolly is fit and available anyway.
  7. He does.
  8. + 1
  9. Not considering we have won a fait few games playing 4-5-1 no. I would like to think that the Chairman isnt influencing how AP sets up his team.
  10. Fair play to AP, I did think he would go 4-5-1 and try for a point, cos a point would be a good result there regardless of league position/points total.
  11. Thats available for selection yes i agree. The only change I would make is Connolly back in for Barnard when he is fit...that would be our best team IMHO.
  12. Could you not go back to posting about football matters on the pitch ? You actually made some quite good points when you put your knife away.
  13. Its in 14 weeks time apparently.
  14. I cannot believe FIFA are going to give them permission....but as someone has already said what good will it do them ? Player valued at £6 million - knowing they are desperate a club offers £2 million - are they going to turn it down ? and if nobody wanted them in January why are they going to want them in February ?
  15. Totally agree, thats why Connolly is badly missed. I fear AP will only go with one up front Saturday cos I think he will see a point as a good result.
  16. "Here I am heavily disguised as a Tax Inspector.......and I don't think they have seen me yet !! "
  17. I hope nobody waves any money at Mr and Mrs Storrie
  18. Glad Connolly's injury is not related to his previous problems. We have missed him big time......as AP admits himself. If fit I'm having a few quid on Connolly to score the winner at Wembley on 28 March
  19. I know this is gonna be hard to believe given their impeccable track record but perhaps they dont really have 2 serious bidders waiting in the wings
  20. Well they managed for Cardiff in 2003 and the ZDS in 1992 without the price being on the high side........how many coaches left St Marys for both the semi final and final in 2003 ? Well over 40 for each, I'm sure it was.
  21. Thats right, you cant blame Saints for that, that'll be Wembley's little money maker ! What does surprise me is the £25 for coach travel though.....thats a bit steep and for a 50 seater comes to well over £1200 per coach !!!!
  22. Have I completely mis-understood this fairy tale from Storrie then ? He was "attacked" by someone waving money in his face......not a knife, just paper money ? Give me strength......and get a sense of humour you ***** ! You can tell why he is so bloody matey with Redknapp - they both have a habit of re-writing history and playing the "it wasn't me gov" card. Who was it oversaw P*mpey going down the swanee again ?
  23. Well as you say, given the chances of reaching the play-offs this season seem remote we would be pushing for back to back promotions. Now whilst I am very confident that with this set of players, plus maybe a couple more, we can quite comfortably achieve automatic promotion next season, the CCC is a whole different kettle of fish. It all depends where reality bites and to my mind, once promoted to the CCC it will take a year to establish ourselves then the next season, or two, to push for the trip to the PL. So, if we go up next season and take 2 years to get out the CCC that would be a 4 year turn around....and that aint bad going.....3 years is very very ambitious and always was, especially when you are starting year one as we did with the ten point deduction. Cos lets not forget, no matter how good a team is, Lady Luck will always play a big part in your fortunes.
  24. The Premier League have already said they will not bend the rules. They will not get an advance on TV money or parachute payments. How could they - just think of the different cans of worms that would open up ? Besides, another 13 games and they will relegated and the PL wont give a toss about them, just like they haven't about Saints, Bournemouth, Luton, Crystal Palace, Southend.....
