We need to start winning our home games. Last time we got a point in the league at home was against Arsenal!
-
Beginning to accept I may have been wrong about Nathan Jones. Win against Villa and I'll be on board the train
-
Heading up there now Maybe I'm still drunk from last night but honestly I'm super confident.
-
Yesterday was an incredible performance, and Nathan Jones deserves plaudits for what is the biggest win in his career. However, the theee league games since the World Cup have been unacceptable, and I cannot forget that Forest game in a hurry. If he gets us playing well in the league and we move up then fair enough. But I'm still sceptical that he is the long-term solution. I do hope I am wrong.

Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg
Pamplemousse replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
The home leg (I think) definitely will be the Tuesday because Man Utd v Forest has to be the Wednesday The day of the second leg will depend on TV games for the FA Cup as that's the previous weekend. Hopefully it will be announced ASAP. I'd love to go to one or both but I think with work it's going to be challenge. -
Get an early goal, the Everton crowd will be toxic. Given Nathan Jones's bravado and comments I'm fully expecting us to win.
-
Seeing as he's giving it the biggun, I fully expect us to win at Everton
-
No ide how reliable the source is but suggests we're looking at Doku, who Rennes don't want to leave because of injuries to other players
-
Brighton's the same, they give up a section behind the goal. Next season in the Championship it'll be fine because most teams will take a smaller allocation so we'll get more of the Northam anyway
-
Usually later this week, Thursday or Friday No chance of our game getting picked, I suspect we'll be at Saturday 3pm but I could be wrong
-
Not got a problem with Keane. He was decent at Burnley.
-
Fair enough. Sell him and move on. Should be getting a decent fee for him.

Saints 2-0 Man City - The Treble is STILL on!
Pamplemousse replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Yeah I'm not going, although that's for logistical reasons rather than footballing ones. I'd probably try and make it to any semi (if we get there) -
Someone on Twitter is claiming Kyle Walker-Peters is unhappy and wants to leave. First I've heard of this, any truth to it?
-
I don't see us becoming a top 10 team under him. I'd be very surprised if he can do any better than Ralph.

Saints 2-0 Man City - The Treble is STILL on!
Pamplemousse replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
For once I hope we do go 5 at the back. Actually, make that 11 at the back. -
I still don't think he will be successful for us and I think we should sack him ASAP.
-
I saw a few on the tube going through London, along with some other Saints fans. No bother from any of them.
-
I want us to win but I am intrigued to see the reaction of the fans if we get heavily beaten
-
Personally I'm not sure I'd want him. He's a great long term manager but I don't think he'd hit the ground running and that's what we need. Having said that, he'd be better than Jones. A lot better
-
We need someone who we know can coach a defence, someone with a European pedigree and available on a free. Claude Puel. He will keep us up.
-
Honestly, I expect us to play really well tomorrow and against City, and then revert back to type against Everton
-
Jones doesn't have a plan. Or if he does, nobody has a clue. We need a manager to provide the players with a structure. Under Dyche it wouldn't be pretty but every player would know their role.
-
An amusing thought about the other FA Cup game Spurs fans will be singing their version of OWTS And 9000 Pompey fans will all be booing it, not realising they're doing us a favour
-
From Livakovic's performance at the World Cup, it looked like he'd be going to bigger clubs than Saints sadly.
