  1. Didn't Adkins rate him as his dream signing in the interview things with that scruff bloke from the internet? Thought it would be funny if he turned up for a few more prem appearances but his pace has gone. More likely to turn up in an emerging league for a few months
  2. That's the run I was thinking of! Good awareness to knock it back for a fifa goal against them. He also won the penalty away at Watford
  3. Fit but didn't take his chance against Leeds at all so has to train hard to get back on the bench. Shame as he showed some good potential before getting that injury in the champ. Some good direct running that was a bit different to everyone else should really get him some decent sub appearances, just assuming he hasn't come back from the last few injuries as well as hoped.
  4. Yeah my point didn't come across right, De Ridder should be a beast in L1 really. A lower end champ team (Charlton my best example) could be a good outlet for him to get some good games under his belt.
  5. Yay!
  6. He should really be a target for Charlton, should tear up L1 as Forte is/was with Crawley. Such a frustrating player last year though, never seemed able to improve on his clear weakness in crossing and seemed to be devoid of any decision making/composure towards the end of the season (going clean through in the last few mins in more than one game to stick it out for a goal kick was pretty depressing). Sad though, seeing as he seemed to have a lot going for him, just never really had the ability to make it count.
  7. A year maybe, not a full on give him more money though. Too predictable, too inconsistent and for a relatively quick lad he provides very little on the break. Get a good fee off him in Jan or an extension for an extra year to get a good fee in the summer. Shouldn't really be a long term option for us on the right.
  8. Still annoys me, had a good performance against QPR and United but was frustratingly poor against teams that can defend/can clearly see he's only ever going to be effective on his left foot. At least he's not busy annoying everyone at the club any more and deserves credit for getting somethings right, just isn't going to be a consistent premier league RM.
  9. Did you watch a different Gazza against a different Fulham team?!?! Both goals went in because Jos deemed it fit to try and make us really work for anything that day. First goal he decided to send in when it was going wide and second he thought would be a good idea to get a touch on when Gazza had gone the right way.....
  10. No one could touch him yesterday, good fun to watch!
  11. Play the same way we did against QPR and we should win 4-3, Ba/Cisse are going to be a handful but keep the ball in their end and push them will get us the result.
  12. oh Adkins! He should have gotten to it, but so should have a CB who was watching the run... Thankfully its not the end of the world and Gazza got more than enough on everything else.
  13. Couldn't have said it better my self
  14. motd does skew things a little bit...
  15. Was annoyed the highlights seemed to cut out his good saves, good stops and generally good moments. Seemed to want to paint him as "the weakest link" in a cruel premier league takes no prisoners sort of thing.
  16. After the MOTD highlights I feel bad not giving Steven Davis the vote
  17. Amazed Hansen was so positive about us! Also highlights make punch look world class. Going forward good, stand by for the first 40 mins he was only interested going forward and not doing the defensive work well enough. Phew I thought it was bad here screaming at the tv that no one picked up Hoilett on the way in the box, seemed harsh to blame Gazza not storming out too early...
  18. Great away fans, special mention to the fans to the right of me in the really restricted view bit, sung a lot and seemed to be having a good laugh despite they couldn't see much! Plus Adkins got it spot on today, looks good without injury problems more than anything else.
  19. Yeah QPR were the worst team in this league, which is depressing considering how bad villa were but if we play to our strengths like today then we can win.
  20. Play like today and we can win the next 4 and probably more.
  21. Voted Cork but it was the Ricky Lambert and Jack Cork show. Cork ran it in midfield and was key to pretty much everything. Delighted to see him back and really makes a difference. Lambert was a tank upfront. Made on average 3 defenders look stupidly amateurish by just being strong and playing the ball like a sensible adult. So few strikers in the league (let alone eligible for england) that can play with that sort of class and ability.
  22. Cork is the messiah, an absolute steal from Chelsea for so little. Exactly the type of player they need and we have to hang onto for the long term, gutted we have had to play games without him and has really made the difference today and last week.
  23. Ah, yeah thought that would come up, I just felt it took the goal for him to get going into the game, spent the first 40 mins not really chasing the ball (though no one does that as such in this system, more everyone sticks to their areas) but he then seemed to be the weak link in doubling up on their left side players with Clyne/Morgan. So when they had the ball there was a few moments of all 3 of them closing down 2 in that area (as they have to) but Punch wasn't all that effective/helpful and more just going through the motions. Then in the breakaway phase he wasn't really interested in making an easy pass/run when they had no one at left back/covering, which is a shame as he would have been great being the on the break sort of player if he had the energy/work rate to do it earlier on. Credit to him he really picked it up once the cut inside and hit it hard worked very well for the second goal, I just felt he was a bit lackluster in the first 40 odd mins and needs a bit of a kick to put in 90 great mins as that would really make him a premier league player. It is nice for once to not point the finger for a loss and debate where it could have been 5 or 6 (and for Punch's second cause he could have had at least 3 which is a nice change) Oh and the gaa loving gf thought Gazza was at least a beast of a gaa keeper and a decent keeper all round which is entertaining to hear (and interesting praise)
  24. Haha! Yeah the guys around me were screaming for blood on the Fox substitution (despite the fact Fox was alright and Shaw isn't match fit) and no one seemed impressed with the Davis substitution at the time it was made. Seems playing him in his less favoured role (in the deep lying role) has ruined everyone opinions of a player that is a bit of a beast. Thinking back to City away he got the going forward from midfield role and scored on his debut because he is really good in that sort of position. He caused QPR all sorts of problems today and arguably was more effective than Gaston. For back on topic I do like Gaston, always impresses me on the ball, just was really a bit tired today when things got on a bit.
  25. I am still sticking with Gazza, yeah his having problems choosing when to come out and when not too, but all 3 of our keepers have the exact same problem. Kelvin has cost us plenty of goals with that problem and Boruc cost us at least one against West Ham and the second against Spurs for it. Gazza has the best attributes for other goal keeping outside of rushing out so I still think stick with him and he'll learn quickly what to do.
